Went there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. After a few days I was missing my mountains though. I HATE flat land.

Not sure what your post means, but I lived there in Rodanthe from late 80’s to the late 90’s.

Ya, I miss it too.

I spent almost ten years in Virginia and vacationed in the Outer Banks most of those years. I’m a Texas girl and was captivated by Virginia’s beauty and also the Outer Banks. Living in Virginia was when I learned about the four seasons. Up until then I only knew about the two Texas seasons, summer and fall.

Absolutely worst night of my life was spent watching “Night in Rodanthe”
Lord what a stinker,
and that Diane Lane, OYY what a klafte.
Not to mention that schmuck Richard Gere...
But I love the outer banks too.

LOL. I never saw that movie except for the trailers. Yea, it seemed bad.

The Outer Banks are great, proposed to my wife on the beach, in the back of my candle-lit pick-up, with a bottle of champagne. I wasn't taking any chances.

Spent 1.5 wks in OBX. Wonderful. That harsh edge of beauty vs. dangerous is a thrill.

You would have loved it in the 60s when the Casino was still up and running. It had a great upstairs dance floor with live music and we went down there from Chesapeake as teenagers. I remember when the Trading Post was the only place for miles and miles where you could buy groceries. You didn’t call the area the Outer Banks, it was Nags Head or even Kitty Hawk, but when you said Nags Head folks knew you meant the Outer Banks. We’re renting a cottage this summer there for a family reunion, can’t wait to introduce my nephews from the corn fields of Illinois the beach.

Man, you were a pup when you found this site in ‘98.
You must have been like me,
A conservative at birth.
Not that many of us.

Pretty much a conservative at birth. Our family was blue-dog democrat until clinton came along. My first vote was for Reagan in ‘81.
