This is why Rush Limbaugh is one of the smartest commentators out there (Not that it was totally unpredictable but ...):
Obama's entire strategy is no deal. Obama's praying for super committee failure. His $1 billion campaign requires it. Not only is failure not an option, failure is the goal.
-- Rush Limbaugh, November 16, 2011
It's smoke and mirrors, folks. You put 12 partisan Democrats on this committee who have as their number one objective reelecting Barack Obama and I will guarantee you that there is no way that this problem's gonna be solved. That's not the Obama strategy to solve the problem. The Obama strategy is to exacerbate the problem and then get together with the media and blame the Republicans for it.
-- Rush Limbaugh, November 21, 2011 (afternoon)
[D]espite the broad agreement that exists for such a [balanced] approach, there's still too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voices of reason and compromise that are coming from outside of Washington. They continue to insist on protecting $100 billion worth of tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans at any cost, even if it means reducing the deficit with deep cuts to things like education and medical research. Even if it means deep cuts in Medicare. So at this point, at least, they simply will not budge from that negotiating position. And so far, that refusal continues to be the main stumbling block that has prevented Congress from reaching an agreement to further reduce our deficit.
Although Congress has not come to an agreement yet, nothing prevents them from coming up with an agreement in the days ahead. They can still come together around a balanced plan. I believe Democrats are prepared to do so. My expectation is, is that there will be some Republicans who are still interested in preventing the automatic cuts from taking place. .

Kerry is a Patricial POS.
Rush was right...meanwhile, the dems, mostly Reid, are carrying Obama’s water on the election issues. As Rush has said numerous times, they only thing they have to run upon is demonizing the GOP.
Of course the GOP is so inept to fall for the debate a week schedule which guarantees a circular firing squad. In these “debates” the only person who has looked good is Newt. Why, because he keeps his eye on the prize which is defeating BO.
Obama is already posturing that he will veto any attempt to stop the automatic across the board austerity cuts. What he doesn’t tell the adoring fans at MSDNC is that the cuts aren’t supposed to start until 2013, a full year after the election he hopes to win by acting like the tough guy in all of this.
McConnell and Boehner are the fools that led us down this road.
You are correct. Boehner is to blame for agreeing to this and for negotiating with his cards on the table. He publicly plays not to lose every time.
That said, I commend the six Republicans on the panel for not flinching. It would have just taken one to jump to the other side to ‘compromise’ and end up with a Democrat bill. Compromise to the media and Democrats is always to pass a Democratic bill.
Not to be critical of Rush, but this was not too difficult to predict. Anyone with a brain should have expected this outcome.
Thanks for posting. Yes, he did. HOORAY Rush!!!
Democrats continue to ascribe more power to the mainstream media than they actually possess.
The MSM still had the power in 2008, they used it to sell us the bill-of-goods that is the Presidency of Barack Obama. For this reason, people now consider the source.
My evidence?
The media shilled for Democrats in the 2010 mid-terms and the more recent 2011 elections, and had their hats handed to them.
Rush is right, this is Obama's strategy, but it won't work this time.
Fox is more relied upon now and they were bashing the committee's inaction with great verve this morning.
Another backfire for Obama, now the only one in the room that doesn't realize that the supplicant media has lost its power to persuade.
