Like all amnesty shills, you raise the false dichotomy of amnesty versus boxcars, while ignoring the valid proposals raised by many of setting up self-deportation scenarios that would open up jobs for Americans while reducing the billions in tax dollars spent on bennies for illegals. Yeah, it ain't perfect. But you epitomize the maxim of someone making the perfect the enemy of the good.

Actually, while I don't believe we will be able to actually deport them, I'm all for cutting out all bennies. If the Feds would do something like Alabama has, and actually enforce the current laws, it might mitigate a bunch of the problem. When the Feds fight it and only a few States stand up to them, it tends to move the problem rather than actually solve it.

I have feelings just as strong as most on FR, but I can't conceive a workable solution, so I accept we have the problem and understand that it won't change a whit until we find someone strong enough to actually seal the borders. I believe all the candidates understand this and all have esposed sealing the borders. Until that happens, the rest is moot unless we want to accept another "comprehensive" program. I think that whittling away at it one step at a time is the only workable solution. If we close the gates, instead of growing, the problem will start to mitigate itself even if we can't get rid of a bunch that are already here.

At any rate, I'm gonna call a self-imposed truce and let everyone else opine as they will and hope we can at least get rid of Obama - any of the Repub candidates wold be a big improvement and expand the chance that something might be done.

... False Flag PSYOPS agents

Patriot Lisa and All American Joe are “false flag” agents who feign loyalty to the cause they are attempting to harm:

Patriot Lisa will post a message on a conservative blog similar to this, “I want to get rid of Obama as much as the next person but all I see here is racism and hatred. We are never going to get rid of Obama with right wing rants and tin foil hat conspiracy theories. There is no use in even trying. We lost and the best thing to do is just adjust and wait for the next election.”

All American Joe will post, “We need to get torches and pitchforks and march on the White House. Obama is a Muslim Black Power Manchurian Candidate for everything that is evil in the world. If I had my way his own Secret Service detail would do America a favor and take Obama out.”

Then Patriot Lisa and All American Joe will get into an argument that detracts from all serious debate, ruining the experience for reasonable people, and giving the forum a bad reputation. Patriot Lisa and All American Joe will share private messages to compare tactics, chuckle, and congratulate each other at how good they are at their jobs.

Ask yourself if the message you are reading serves the goals of your cause. Not all misguided people are Obama’s PSYOPS agents. However their activity can damage your cause even if that is not their motive. Confront these attitudes and offer suggestions about what kind of thinking does make a contribution and is part of the solution. If they insist on posting damaging comments they probably are Obama’s PSYOPS agents rather than simply misguided.

“False flag” PSYOPS agents are just one type of Internet propaganda specialist. Let’s take a look at some of these specialists and their tactics....

Obeyed what laws? They stop at red lights? They have never been caught breaking any other laws except for entering the country illegally? Will this review board check out every one to see if they are registered to vote illegally? And if they have voted, will they be put in prison for that crime or simply deported? If they paid taxes, where did they get the SSN? Lots of laws have been broken by these people.

Exactly. If they have registered to vote illegally, and voted, used false ID's or SSN's, have DUI's, or have been convicted of any crime, they will be given a hearing with an opportunity to submit why they should be allowed to stay, and then if they don't meet the criteria, summarily deported.

How many of them have been assigned "valid" SSN's or Driver's Licenses, have been allowed to buy property and take out mortgages without proper identification, have been allowed to work without proper documentation, or have been convicted of crimes and allowed to stay illegally? What should happen to those who looked the other way? And how will we get the answers without some kind of review board?

In my humble opinion, not many would meet the criteria outlined by Gingrich, so a lot of people will ultimately be deported. The question is how to get 11-12 million people, to voluntarily submit to a fair and unbiased procedure?

Deportation does not work for me for voter fraud. They should do time in prison before deportation. Do you remember the case of the illegal that was acquitted of identity theft because he didn't know the fake SSN he was assigned belonged to an actual citizen? I do.

How many of them have been assigned "valid" SSN's or Driver's Licenses, have been allowed to buy property and take out mortgages without proper identification, have been allowed to work without proper documentation, or have been convicted of crimes and allowed to stay illegally? Too many. All of these docs have been used to vote illegally. In AZ, you didn't really have to prove you were legal to get these docs. If you had the alternative required docs (none of which proved you were a US citizen), you were allowed to vote. We need real reform/proof of citizenship in this area.

In my humble opinion, not many would meet the criteria outlined by Gingrich, so a lot of people will ultimately be deported. The question is how to get 11-12 million people, to voluntarily submit to a fair and unbiased procedure?

That is the rub. They will not do so. Why should they? If you don't go after those that have broken the law, why would anyone else?

From: The Wisdom of Newt’s Immigration Plan

"Newt Gingrich is under attack by some of his GOP rivals for opining that some illegal immigrants, those who have been here for decades and put down roots should be allowed to remain. This, they charge, is amnesty, a four letter word in their world. The establishment media have hypocritically piled on, even though they usually favor of amnesty for everyone."

"Unlike amnesty advocates Gingrich argues forcefully for border security as the first step. He would then develop a guest worker program to meet legitimate needs for cheap menial labor in some sectors of the economy. With the border sealed so they couldn’t come back, he would send most of those who have entered illegally home. The exceptions would be people who have been here for a long time and have put down roots...."

Notice that I didn't even say all that, I simply stated, "For the most part, I concur". And none of the rude comments, personal insults, or name calling (i.e. "troll") have changed my view. The tide is turning. If you have a better solution, put it out there, otherwise, "you might be a liberal".

That is the rub. And that’s why you need all states to be on the same page, through enforcement of a federal law that all will agree with. It won’t work with a few states enforcing one set of rules, while others enforce something totally opposite. Nor will it work without sealing the border first. You deport them today, they come back tomorrow. FNC did a documentary about this recently, riding on the bus with the deported, and filming them crossing right back over, to be with their wives and children.
