“Since when does the President control Congress’s salaries?”
He’s also said he will cut them down to half-time jobs. He’s saying these nutty things he can’t do, to get attention back on him. That’s a poor way to do it.
I heard that radio ad on a local Omaha station today. He did not say he "would" cut their pay or time, but said "I... "say" we cut half their pay and send them home".
Why waste everyone's time with these red herrings?
These are PROPOSALS that Perry is making. I happen to think that they are pretty good ideas. But NOWHERE have I seen him propose that the President become a dictator.
Of course, President Perry will have to lobby and cajole Congress to enact his ideas, and maybe they won't go along.
But by your reasoning (if you want to glorify it with such a word) no candidate should even make such suggestions.

You're looking really, really stupid. Perry can't cvut their pay and never said he would. He said he'd have his pay cut and then work to cut Congress's pay and make them part time. Governor Perry is very well acquainted with Constitution. Perhaps you two would benefit by doing a little research to see what the man has actually said and what he's actually promising to work for.
In case you didn't know the President also can't:
Improve the economy
reform the tax code
create jobs
pass a budget
pass a law
build a border fence
or any other damned thing on his own. All a President can do is STAND FOR SOMETHING and use the bully pulpit to encourage the American people to force Congress to do what they want them to do. So shut up and grow up!
