Posted on 12/05/2011 11:36:51 AM PST by Zakeet
While the capital markets may be cheering that in the past month 120,000 people supposedly found jobs, even if these were largely temporary or part-time just in time for the year end shopping sprees, we wonder how they will react when learning that according to the latest update from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), some 423,000 Americans found their way to minimum way subsistence, courtesy of Food Stamp handouts from Uncle Sam. Since the start of the Second Great Depression, food stamp participation has increased by 18.7 million, and is now at an all time higher 46.3 million. All Bush's fault, or something. At least the chart below appears to be plateauing... Actually, sorry, no isn't.
The economy is in the toilet because of Obama plus he expanded eligibility. Now middle class people can get food stamps. Its turned into yet another subsidy for those who want to stick their hands out and get it. There used to be a time when I was younger when you took food stamps because you had to and you avoided it by any means if you could. Not anymore. We are turning into a nation of freeloaders with no shame in asking for a handout no matter what their circumstances.
Wait a minute, something doesn't make sense. I'm looking at that graph, and about 31 million were on food stamps at the end of the President Bush presidency. So 15 million extra were added during the last few years of the Obama presidency! It is nearly ALL Obama's fault!
46 million Democrat voters no doubt!!!!
We’ve got some of the richest poor in the world.
They’d be lower-middle to mid-middle class anywhere else.
How many of them live in million dollar homes?
We must all come to love Big Brother.
Big Brother is the Provider.
Love Big Brother, or else, you will be audited by the IRS.
Never forget either with this president, this is redistribution of wealth. He’s just gotten 14 million more people getting stealth reparations. While it’s not a lot individually, it’s still a significant amount of “free” - to them - money.
If this 46 million includes children - how many ‘families’ or ‘households’ might this represent?
i.e. One mother with five children = 1 Dem vote.
Woman With 15 Kids, Somebody Needs To Pay For All My Children
Chapter - It’s Free Swipe Yo EBT (Explicit)
“All you have to do is f***, And 9 months later you’re getting the big bucks!”
“MY EBT “ By @MREBT
“My EBT, my EBT, I be swipey, swipey my EBT!”
2010 statistics show 50% are children - so it’s only 23 million Obama voters.
In 2010, 48.8 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 32.6 million adults and 16.2 million children
This nation is finished.
And last, but by no means, least, Peggy Joseph, from Obama’s 2008 Orlando Campaign Rally:
Obama Is Going To Pay For My Gas And Mortgage!!!
Not necessarily. There are millions of unemployed and underemployed middle class people who have always worked, and can't find jobs. Add in their kids, it's not hard see where the additional 16 million come from. They aren't necessarily going to vote Democrat unless the Pubs do something stupid like let the current unemployment extensions lapse.
Sounds like voter blackmail to me.
Just realism. If people are forced to choose between the prospect of long term economic recovery or keeping a roof over their heads now, they will probably choose the latter.
One mother, five children in Florida= $952/mo in food stamps.
Somehow, I don’t think that I’d sink that low - at least hope not.
46 million times $5.00 per day(my guess) = an annual cost of $84B dollars. Pretty cheap way for the demonrats to buy votes.
As public sector sheds jobs, blacks hit hardest
hope and change, baby.
I want an EBT card. Is it hard to get one? What’s the cutoff for a family of 5? Gimme my Obama money!
How many of the 46,000,000 are children for whom their parents are receiving food stamps AND we are paying through federal programs to feed them at least breakfast and lunch, if not 3 meals a day, at their schools? How much is that costing us to feed the children 31 meals per week (each) or more?
Ask a Democrat.
This is considered to be a huge success, if they are honest.
When the USSR when broke it only had one form of welfare and that was the pension. When we go broke, it will be a bigger deal......................
