“I offered neither premise, nor conclusion, nor have I advertised products, or solicited lucre. Thus, there is nothing to defend. Next blog post!”

Haughty pseudo-intellectualism will not save the day.

Newsflash: Conseratives are the most sarcastic folks on God’s green and cooling earth. This is one of our favorite things to mock.

“NaturalBornConservative (The Author)”

“(The Author) ?!”

Ugh.

"I guess it depends on one's definition of evil."

OK. Let's see you make the case that confiscating wealth that you did not earn can somehow be defined as good.

You want to talk about war? I'll make this statement:

The only mistake that has been made in the entire history of US policy with regard to war has been the attempt to fight it in a "moderate" manner.

As for tariffs, they only lead to war when they do not mirror those imposed by the nations trading partners. Again, the attempt to take that which is not earned by payment (or treatment) in kind is objectively evil, and can lead to war.

There is no ill logic or conundrum involved.

"As for advertising, that's obvious. You are advertising your blog and you have made 34 attempts in one post to draw traffic from FreeRepublic without even the simple courtesy of a single linkback in that long list of recommended blogs and sources at your site. That is discourteous at best."

Huh? Actually some of these posts do contain link backs to FreeRepublic, mainly to reference the contentious comments, like this one. Perhaps you should have investigated that first. I am also a supporter of FreeRepublic and a frequent poster here. In fact, if you Google any of these titles, I'll bet you FreeRepublic comes up first -- it always does. And as far as points, premises, and conclusions -- well, like I said, "If something catches your eye, pore over it" -- that was the whole point. Although I don't advertise products or accept donations (or prizes), I do occasionally make donations, and direct traffic here from my twitter, facebook, and multiply accounts. So with that, what's your point?

I'm not making that case at all. I have enough trouble trying to get paid for what I do earn these days. I wish I could confiscate what's owed to me, but unfortunately it's not that easy.

As for tariffs, they only lead to war when they do not mirror those imposed by the nations trading partners.

Well, that would be perennial then. If I have something that you need, like oil, and you don't have anything that I can't do without, it's never going to be fair.

"So with that, what's your point? "

Point is, I scoured your site and found a list of links to sites and blogs and FreeRepublic is conspicuously absent.

"I'm not making that case at all."

That is exactly the case you're trying to make if you claim that a "golden mean" can be found and applied to income taxes.

"it's never going to be fair."

Two gold stars. You got it right. Some nations are going to be richer than others, just like some people are going to earn more than others.

Trying to level that playing field is contrary to natural law and objectively evil.

There's a link right here at the bottom under "Related:"

Scoured? Yeah, right. It took me 5 seconds to find the one above. Try Google. There are other links in comments to blog posts which are on a separate feed. They may not say the name FreeRepublic, but the actual links are to this site. If you talking about sites listed on the left under "My Blog List", not every type of site can be linked there, as this one cannot, becuase it is not technically a blog.

And if you really want to “scour”, try searching with the “Search This Blog - Powered by Google” function on the left-hand column. Type in ‘freerepublic’ and search. Scroll to the top, then click on the “My Blog List” tab, and you will find at leat 10 pages of links imbedded right now, and another page under the “This Blog” tab. Okay. I’m out!

"Okay. I’m out!"

Promise?

(By the way - I don't "Google" anything.)
