It is Not Fiat You Need To Fear – It is Government Itself
Armstrong Economics ^ | December 15, 2011 | Martin Armstrong

The latest census shows that 1 in 2 people have slipped in America and are poor. The tax burden has risen and this idea of socialism has amounted to a charity that costs $9 out of $10 to function. It is now government itself that is the beast consuming everything, not the poor who get table scraps. After the Arab riots in Iran and how they used the internet to organize, I warned that those in Washington in the unelected backrooms were shaking in their boots and would eliminate that threat in the USA.

The bill was introduced to allow the President to shut down the interest in case of a terrorist attack. You do not need to shut down the whole internet for such nonsense. It was to choke off the ability of the people to organize. Now McCain of all people is the instrument of the total destruction of the United States. There is NO reason to authorize the military to operate domestically allowing tanks to roll down the streets arresting people without trial that amounts to anyone who disagrees with the current administration.

These people are traitors to LIBERTY. They are setting the stage for what they know is coming. Massive revolts when they cannot pay the promises of socialism precisely as we see in Greece and other places. The troops will fire upon citizens just as police have attacked those who have peacefully protested. The people are being transformed into terrorists that are defined as anyone who disagrees.

Ronald Regan said it best. We have lost everything worth living for. We have erected the new Berlin Wall and soon you will lose your freedom to leave.

It is not fiat currency you must fear. It is government itself. We so desperately need REAL political reform. We need TERM LIMITS not life time politicians who cannot separate themselves from the people and look down upon us as prey. We need politicians who MUST return to the ranks of the people so that they would NEVER pass such an act against themselves. It is self-interest that is the check and balance – nothing else.

Our logic is really messed up on terrorism. It is like that on ICE.

When you drink vodka over ice, it can give you kidney failure. When you drink rum over ice, it can give you liver failure. When you drink whiskey over ice, it can give you heart problems. When you drink gin over ice, it can give you brain problems. Obviously, ice is really bad for you.

19 guys and a camel have given the excuse to the unelected backroom dictatorship that control the politicians like puppets. They give them a cookie and they will introduce anything. Senator McCain must be a moron. There is no other explanation. RETIRE and get the hell out of government!

So if you want to know why gold will eventually go up? It ain’t the fiat. Try good old fashion security from the enemy within.

Armstrong might be early in his predictions but that gives you plenty of warning.

I didn't include Armstrong's first piece on gold in this writing. Go to the link and read up on it as he is calling for it to correct (ex. go down, crash, sell-off, etc.) through most of 2012.

If you are hoarding or collecting gold you just sit through these moves in gold and not worry about it. In the long run gold will continue working its way on up until about year 2020.

Take note of what Armstong sees in fundamentals and cycles. If you are thinking of buying gold, you might want to wait for lower prices.

Politically, put some peanut butter in your pockets because the US is toast.

Let’s restate this as if there was a Republican in office:

“NUMBER OF POOR HOUSEHOLDS REACHES 50% - PRESIDENT TO BLAME”

I agree with him.

Fiat currency is not the problem. Congress is.

Congress has repeatedly acted irrationally and fiscally irresponsibly.

The FED hasn’t. The Fed has done a remarkable job of keeping inflation low and providing additional liquidity during market downturns.

“The troops will fire upon citizens just as police have attacked those who have peacefully protested.”

For now, most troops would not fire on Americans. I won’t speak for a few years from now when the current ranks of NCO’s are replaced by gay friendly (and left friendly) NCO’s.

But should such a thing come to pass that the military attacks an American city the same way they did in Iraq then we’ll make for danged sure that those troops and their officers long for days when all they had to worry about was jihadis and IEDs.

Obama and his minions should heed the words of Admiral Yamamoto should they attack America: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

Military surveys show that about 10% of the troops would follow orders to fire on, round up etc US citizens. The other 90% would stand down. So figure we have about 30,000 troops in the US right now. 3,000 US troops vs. 90 million gun owners. I’m liking those odds.

More likely if Barry gets a wild hare and decides to declare martial law etc. He is going to be sending Federal agents to do his dirty work. That along with the state and local cops he has managed to federalize. Thats what all these fusion centers aroung the country are all about. Federal agents in the South are going to last about 72 hours tops and the local boys will stand down pretty quick when they see which way the wind is blowing.

The idea of the govt trying to impose tyranny on US citizens is frightening but the reality of actually doing it is a lot more complicated. 150,000 US troops cannot conquer a few thousand 7th century primitives in Afghanistan. How are they going to fare agains’t a ticked off, sophisticated, incredibly well armed citizenry with their backs agains’t a wall.

This new legislation IMO is intended so that the govt can grab people off the street covertly with little fanfare and basically make them disappear just like in Russia. They will start trying to round up the “dissidents” in an effort to keep the rebellion from spreading to outright revolt. The MSM will keep their mouth shut and you will never hear about most of it. What I just described above is the govt’s worst nightmare. 90 million gun owners locked and loaded.

The only thing the Federal Reserve has done is spread money/credit all over the world at (-)0% rates, banks turn around and try to loan at 4%, 7%, 10% or more while retirees and savers are getting killed on their bank holdings as prices on the shelf continue upwards with at the same time artificially low savings rates.

Adding money/credit into the banking system without the economy responding in kind will eventually come back to bite the banking system, in turn the taxpayers.

Then I guess the best response is that we become our neighbor’s keepers. What I mean is if a black Chevy Suburban shows up at my neighbor’s house then I’m calling everyone I know and asking them to stand up against it. Likewise, I hope my neighbors do the same for me if that happens.

First, I’m hoping no such thing happens, but if it does then badges should not provide protection to anyone violating the Constitution. As to the law? A friend of mine used to say that saying something was legal was not a defense from justice because, as he noted, the Holocaust was perfectly legal.

Military surveys show that about 10% of the troops would follow orders to fire on, round up etc US citizens.

Yet, this would be a dynamic situation. When the 10% get fired upon, will they continue? And what will the 90% do as a response? This is a bad and tenuous situation for a usurper.
