Sports Goes Gangsta

Last week the feds indicted Chicago Bears receiver Sam Hurd on drug charges as reported by The Associated Press: "the police said he told an undercover agent he was interested in buying 5 to 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana per week to distribute in the Chicago area."

It's funny because the line between athletes and thugs is becoming increasingly blurred.

Indeed, investigators are "finding a growing connection between gangs and sports, with athletes getting caught up in senseless gang violence at times" as reported by CBS News: "a survey of 130 top athletic programs . . . found that 19.5 percent of the 87 campus police chiefs who responded reported 'direct knowledge of a student-athlete who retained gang membership while at their university.'"

You know the economy is bad when a NFL player needs to have a second job selling drugs.

This line has been blurred for quite a while now and has played a big part in my loss of interest in professional sports.

Fortunately, this Colorado native has once again been been able to enjoy my beloved Broncos.

"It's funny because the line between athletes and thugs is becoming increasingly blurred."

And will continue because we are not allowed to openly discuss the root of the problem. Let's continue to celebrate the culture of thugdom like good little diversity robots.

I read that about 10% of all NFL players have been in trouble with the law.

Anecdotal evidence is that you frequently hear of players being arrested for this and that. This is a major black eye to the public image of the NFL and sports in general.

I too have lost interest in professional sports due to who is playing.

“I read that about 10% of all NFL players have been in trouble with the law.”

The US congress and recent democrat presidents make NFL players look almost righteous, statistically speaking.

If you take a just a little closer look at the big three in stick and ball sports, you will see that they “went gangsta” quite a while ago.

I believe a lot of the agenda deals with illegal stuff, particularly drugs... ie: if we close the borders, then what does cocaine cost then?
