No Iraqi Republican Guardsmen were given asylum. What they did was take off their uniforms and blend into the general population.

The ones we brought back were supposedly the ones that had opposed the government and were therefore on our side and likely to be harmed if left behind.

The problem was (as usual) we did a crappy job of vetting. Lot’s of bad guys were brought over here thinking they were good guys, while lots of actual good guys were left over there.

And NO government agency did any kind of watching. There is some number (I believe it is about two and a half thousand) that remain unaccounted for today.

Actually, it's worse than that. There WAS an FBI agent that was all over it, and he was told to back off by his higher ups. He was so disgusted that he fed information to a TV reporter that wrote an excellent book on the subject (”The Third Terrorist, Jayna Davis). I recommend it highly.

The book is thoroughly sourced and uses actual names and faces of real people. That opens a writer up to libel and slander litigation if any of it is not true. Nobody has sued her. And that speaks volumes.

Apparently the clintoon administration liked that the crime was being blamed on “militia groups” and white Anglo Saxon males. It played perfectly into the hildabeast’s “vast right wing conspiracy” BS.

I am very familiar with Jayna Davis' work having watched the many threads on the subject here some of which she came and participated in. Here she speaks of the fore-knowledge of an entire cell of Iraqi soldiers in OKC between the 1:00 min and 2:00 min marks.

This is all part of the biggest disappointment I had with GW Bush. Waco, Oklahoma City, and TWA 800 ALL have significant evidence of involvement and/or meddling by the clintoon administration. I still can't understand why they meddled with TWA 800 investigation since they didn't seem to be connected with it at all.

The truth was owed to the victims and all Americans in each case. Yet shortly after GWB was elected, his administration made the decision that all of those things were ‘history’ and made no attempt to get to the bottom of any of them.

Really a sad development in my opinion. I'm afraid that those events are now far enough in the rear view mirror that we will never get to the truth.

Actually it was only four years between his conviction and execution. Convicted on June 2, 1997 and executed on June 11, 2001.

I remember well, when Jayna Davis was reporting on this. One maybe two Arab/mu-slim men were caught, held and questioned, then let go. Ms. Davis seemed very stunned by this, they left the country.

You stated it was only 4 years from conviction to execution of McVeigh, that is very quick.

Conspiracy?? well, I believe Clinton did say something along the lines of "it was good for his reelection", put it together with the "militia" witch-hunt that was going on, Ruby Ridge, Waco, gun control.

Very rotten. I was at home the day that happened and had the TV on. I remember that my first thought was "ME terrorists" and then the talking head speculated the same thing. But an hour later all mention of ME terrorists just vanished from the airwaves.

They didn't say "we have new information leading in a different direction" or "we will have to wait for an official investigation" or "sources tell us it wasn't ME terrorists." They just dropped it like it had never been said and no one had ever thought it. Then Billy Slick Bubba threw his "talk radio" theory out there a couple of days later.

It was many years later here on FR that I first heard of Jayna Davis and her work and we had our own sleuth, OKCSubmariner, who knew her and did his own independent investigating.

Nothing was ever so rotten in Denmark. Not even Hamlet was as sordid as all this.

You remember well. Terrorist was the first thing I thought of as well. I live here, and knew that building very well, knew some people that worked there in the VA office, and did business there as well. Could not believe what I was watching.

There are so many things we will never know about this, JFK, WTC, Ruby Ridge, Waco, etc.,etc.,etc.

Many think this was in revenge to the Waco Branch Dividian burning under CLINTONS reign, the FBI office was in the Murrah Building in OKC and the main FBI officer (Ricks?),in charge at WACO, was from the OKC office, they wanted him, missed though.
