The Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department will be receiving the ultimate in Zombie killing armored vehicles, bought from the same people who are contractors for the MRAP military vehicles. The high dollar vehicle will be delivered in 2012.

The county received a loaner TVP armored SWAT TRUCK from the factory that was actually the one used in the movie “Batman, the Dark Knight Rises.” It still had “Gotham City PD” decals on its sides. The Gotham City PD decals were peeled off and replaced with the appropriate Fond Du Lac Sheriff's decals.

The manufacturer claims that the armor will defeat 14.5mm heavy machine gun rounds.

This armored car for the Sheriff is replacing a classic, but antiquated 60 year old “Humber Pig.” (No pun intended.) This new one is a monster, with lockable gun ports, lots of room for personnel, and plenty of armor. It also has a full factory warranty, an added benefit for any discriminating Zombie killer armored car buyer.

Let’s hope there’s no "Fast and Furious" BATFE program for these new loaded up armored vehicles, or the old "Pig" for that matter.

But, hopefully, there will be a military vehicle collector buyer waiting for this now surplus collector's vehicle. Some are for sale in England in running condition for as little as...

I had no idea that Fond du Lac was such a hotbed of terrorist activity.

Why would he need such a thing? I suppose its his way of showing the world hes no meer civilian ie a soldier wannabe. The fact is unless they train properly and often these sorts of toys are ineffective.

Should be great for preemptive shooting of any number of canines, from granny-killing chihuahuas to those blood-thirsty labs. No dog is safe in that county.

If your american, and especially a christian american, your a potential terrorist in the eyes of the current DHS. Don’t expect any changes with the potential new President taking office in 2013.

The militarization of local law enforcement continues...

Indeed. I see a lot more articles where the police refer to us citizens as "civilians". That kind of mindset does not bode well.

Not all of us do and I correct any other officer I hear referring to a citizen as a “civilian”.

And yes that vehicle has nothing to do with the WOT, it will be used for high risk drug warrants.

Good onya. The deputies around here are OK. It's usually the big city types that are quoted that way - and I make a point to bring out that distinction is the newspapers comments section. And, maybe it's just the Medias' term, like "automatic revolver".
