Anonymous Survival Guide For Citizens in Revolution
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/28/11 | Mac Slavo

Noticing the First Signs (Excerpt):

Revolutions don’t just happen instantly over night, they develop over long periods of struggle. So keep your eyes and ears open for signs of a coming uprising, such as:

Civil unrest prior to riots in the major cities. Politicians and media blatantly lying about the most obvious developments. Censorship of social networks such as Twitter or Facebook. This may not be entirely obvious at first but when the sites are blocked completely the warnings are clear (with excuses like child pornography). Censorship of old media such as newspapers and television (non-regime critical press). Arrests of political opposition leaders (In Tunisia the leaders of the Pirate Party were rounded up and imprisoned without charge. The prison was subsequently burnt down with many people dying inside). In times of crisis many rumours will spread around and fear mongering is rampant. Be calm, think before you act rashly. The #Hashtag of your country, or name of your political leader is trending worldwide on Twitter. Friends and family members living abroad may try to contact you to check if you are alright.

I am not a big fan of the Group Anonymous, but there is some good information here.

I am too lazy to read but I guess that internet connections and cell phones loss will be the first clue.

I give anonymous credit. For all of it’s faults, it’s beholden to the truth and not special interest.

Somebody might want to warn the liberals against coming to the country.

Based on the nature of their politics, the advertising on the sites posting their .pdf, all of which are very conservative, I would NEVER trust any link to them to be anything less than an invite to attack my computer. They seem to be trolling for conservatives.

IF you are not in a rural no neighbor situation, I have come to the conclusion that neighbor preparation is the best preparation.

To help with that, may I suggest that in the event of the internet/cell service being shut down, like-minded neighbors with overlapping WiFi can set up a local area network completely independent of their ISP, which could be useful for communicating the “they’re coming fer ya” message.
I wonder if smart phones with hotspot capabilities can work for this as well. If so, the sort of things we saw with some of the riots this last year - communication via tweets on which way the federales were coming, and other such - could be used even without cell tower cooperation (as we have seen somewhere recently can be denied), at least in the immediate vicinity of the action.
In general, ad hoc or hosted networks are not that difficult, but as not everyone is tech savvy, or may not have put the time in to getting the necessary info from their neighbors, I wonder if someone out there could develop “an app for that” if they have not already, that would make it painless and quick to roll out such a neighborhood network.

The problem with 5 G warfare etc - is that it is incredibly easy to destabilize a system (after a certain point has been reached), but hard to create a better one. The tactical and doctrinal genie being out of the bottle (I sometimes can’t figure out if folks like John Robb - Google the name, read his blog - are helping the barbarians or helping the civilized more), we need to get with and ahead of the curve before the shtf.
