Will Republicans Commit Romney-cide?
GrassTopsUSA ^ | 01/08/2012 | America's Conservative News

Since 1976, every time the GOP has run a RINO for president, the party has suffered an ignominious defeat – against a peanut farmer in ’76, a serial lecher in ’92 and a Marxist in 2008.

But Mitt Romney isn’t taking any chances. Should he secure the nomination, his primary campaign will ensure his defeat in November – 9% unemployment, a national debt hurtling toward the abyss, socialism and surrender notwithstanding.

I don't think I can gear up for 4 more years of the slide into oblivion. With all the various triggers set to for Jan 2013, this is one point in time we can't let Mr. Soetoro get re-elected. We're caught between better candidates who can't win the nomination, and a presumptive nominee who can't win the general election.

As was said in another thread this morning (and in other words), a plurality in a single state caucus does not a nomination make.

The hype is sickening without a doubt - but this ain't over!

I'm watching old reruns of Mission Impossible. Martin Landau, the master of disguise, makes me wonder if Obama is masquerading as Romney and this whole thing is a diabolical Dem plot.

Romney-cide in November: I’m afraid it’s pre-committed as we communicate now. Our little Republican primary voters, as I am sure NH will again demonstrate, are too confused to find a good candidate.

It really doesn't matter. I'm now convinced that the majority of people in the USA can't make an informed decision about who to vote for. They are so dependent upon the federal government for everything that anyone coming along who might try and wean the masses off of government subsidies they flat out reject.

This country will get exactly what's coming to it, whether Romney, Obama, Gingrich, or whoever else is in the White House.

Why is it that this action of forcing another RINO down everybody’s throats, after the passing of Obamacare was, also, forced down everybody’s throats, can’t be used as a major incentive to make sure that it, really, doesn’t happen? Let’s prove to the MSM and to the left, in all of its forms worldwide, that they are, profoundly, wrong about all of this, please and thank you!

If the GOP puts Romney on the ticket,
it has taken tuberculosis upon itself.

We will NEVER vote for a party that takes Mitt Romney.

“If the GOP puts Romney on the ticket,”

But, the conservatives are split. Mitt is there to pick up the pieces.

If the conservatives united behind one candidate then we could defeat Mitt.

Looks like it will be Mitt by default.

“I will sit out the first election of my life.”

Please don’t do that.

Go and vote. There are many other offices we need to secure. You can always write someone in for the Presidential race. But we need to be sure we elect as many Conservatives as possible to all the other offices on the ballot.

I will NOT vote for Romney, but I won’t stay home either!

Please don't sit out the election. The undercard needs your vote for conservative candidates. By all means, write in a true conservative for President, but chances are your School Board, City Council, mayor, or state legislature could use a vote for a conservative candidate.

Myth Romney can sit and spin, but we still have a nation to support.

Actually, it isn't a vote for Obama. My vote is mine to cast as I see fit, and not as some political party dictates. The President is voted for by the electoral college and my either voting or not in a state as populated as Texas won't make a ripple in either direction. I am 65 and will no longer be forced or coerced to cast a vote for a candidate (Romney) that I find lacking in almost all regards.

If I see fit to sit out an election because I find both candidates lacking that is my choice.

But nice try on the "growing up" bit.

I find no fault with what you propose, but I live in a at least 90% Democrat district in Brownsville, TX. Trust me, playing golf on election day won’t make a bit of difference. Romney will not get my vote. That is the point of my post.

Tell you what I won't do is hold my breath until I get a thank you card from Obama or Romney for that matter. The system is seriously broken and has been for quite some time. I left the GOP 14 years ago, but have voted "against" in each of the last elections as a non-aligned voter. I don't think there is a place on the ballot for me to vote "neither". If that were a choice I would be the first one in line.

There are a couple of fine conservatives still running, but the GOP system is so front loaded they won't stand a chance. And isn't it interesting on how each of the conservatives, in turn have been vilified here on FR.

They will try. But Romney will NOT win in the south. That’s where we MUST defeat him, starting with South Carolina.

Conservatives are the RINO’s since they represent only a small minority of Republicans.

If you believe that, then explain why Republicans bother to run as conservatives in the primaries at all?

You have it completely bass-ackwards.

I live in a 90% Democrat district and can't even pronounce candidates names properly. A few years ago the sitting sheriff, with 11 federal charges on him was almost re-elected. Politics in deep south Texas on the Mexican border are no where near what the founding fathers had envisioned.

Keep in mind that my tag line is true. I am a little "r" republican, having burned my GOP card 14 years ago. But I am with JR "rebellion is brewing" and my guns are loaded!

This year, Team Romney is counting on our fear and loathing of Obama to get us behind Mitt. To an extent, they may be right. But it will be support reminiscent of Manchester Union Leader publisher William Loeb’s advice to the right in 1972, when he told conservatives to “Hold your nose and vote for Nixon.”

...and the band plays on. A Romney nomination means that the GOP has learned NOTHING.

Why did Conservatives feel the need to form the Tea Party movement if they are the majority and therefore in control of the OP?

Because although we're the majority, we DO NOT control the GOP. That's why.
