Swedish Satanic Rock Band Begins US Tour This Month
Women of Grace Blog ^ | 1/11/12 | Sue Brinkmann

A satanic rock band from Sweden known as Ghost is planning a 13-stop tour in America beginning in New York City on January 18.

The band, whose keeps the names of its members anonymous, is actually a devil-worshiping ministry that features a lead singer who calls himself “Papa Emeritus” and dresses up as a kind of satanic pope in a skull mask and cardinal’s robes. Their “13 Dates of Doom” tour in the U.S. will include two other “doom rocker” bands, Blood Ceremony and Ancient Wisdom.

Their flyers advertise the tour in this way:

“In the name of Satan, we will conduct thirteen rituals in thirteen different cities throughout the United States and Canada and now we are summoning all of our devotees to partake in these blasphemous eves of black magic.”

I’ve booked them to play a gig in Mecca.

Should be interesting.

OK, that made me laugh.

Is the Mecca date, their ‘coming home’ concert?

There may be some literal rocking and rolling there, if that’s the case. There are some real stoners in Mecca.

Satanic metal is the “right-wing” antithesis to the rap/pop “left-wing” thesis of the cultural marxist pincer.

Sounds a bit contrived for a band.

Have any of their drummers spontaneously combusted or choked on vomit?

I thought “Blue Swede” had reunited.....if the “ooooga oooga ooooga shaka” at the beginning of their version of “Hooked On A Feeling” wasn’t Satanic, I don’t know what is.

Doom metal is really popular in Sweden. Kind of counter to the normal image of the place. Which is probably why it thrives, if I lived in a place that projected that much insane happiness I’d probably be listening to even more gloomy music than I already do.

Wow, these guys are really bad. I don’t think anyone need worry about this band influencing many young minds since their music really does truly suck. It is basically a bad attempt at imitating the old Mercyful Fate/King Diamond shtick. The result is epic failure.

I mean really, how much imagination does it take to be in a Death Metal band, you play basically one riff, all the lyrics are the same, and all you have to do is grunt out the unintelligible lyrics.

Some of their very satanic lyrics:
Ghost - Satan’s Prayer

Believe In One God Do We
Satan Almighty
The Uncreator Of Heaven And Soul
And The Unvisable And The Visable
And In His Son
Begotten Of Father
By Whom All Things Shall Be Unmade
Who For Man And His Damnation
Incarnated
Rise Up From Hell
From Sitteth On The Left Hand Of His Father
From Thense He Shall Come To Judge
Out of One Substance
With Satan
Whose Kingdom Shall Haveth No End
Hear Our Satan Prayer
Our Anti Nicene Creed
Hear Our Satan Prayer
For The Coming Of Seed

This music goes along with the theory that Satan is not very bright, if he was he would have better music.

At one time Elvis Pressley was thought to be satanic. The Beatles as well.

Just because we might not like a form of entertainment does not make it “Da debil!” I follow Christ. I am a church goer.

I also like to break up the homogeny of the contemporary Christian music that I listen to with some stuff that would curl your toes.

Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, WASP, Motley Crue, Disturbed, AC/DC and several others.

I do not worship satan, I worship Jesus Christ.

Their “prayer” is a spoof of the Creed prayed at every Catholic Mass. Read the lyrics. If that’s not evil & Satanic, what is??

>a bad attempt at imitating the old Mercyful Fate/King Diamond shtick.<

Add a dash of Morbid Angel, Bathory and Celtic Frost (yeah, I listened to black metal in my moody, angry teen days), but the difference was that I didn’t go out, sacrifice and drink blood or even pretend to say “I love satan!” like these losers who were swept up with it. I moved on to faster types of death metal such as Slayer and Cannibal Corpse.

And maybe the real reason why I moved to Metalica back then because a lot of hot goth chicks in school were into it and I used “And Justice For All” to get lucky (cough)

They are doing it for attention. What is the best way as a no-name foreign rock band to get that attention than to attack “the church?”

I was right there with ya. I listened to most of that stuff too. I liked some of the music well enough, but was never terribly interested in the whole occult/satanic side of the scene. Some of it was neat in a dark, rebellious sort of way I suppose, but it just never appealed to me and I mostly moved on to more mainstream hard rock/metal.

When I read this article I actually went and found this band, Ghost, on youtube and listened to their stuff. I can say they are really, truly terrible. I'm not saying that as some old guy who can't appreciate alternative styles of music either. I see what they are trying to copy, and they just do a terrible job of it. There is nothing original or interesting about any of the stuff I heard and we will likely never read or hear about them again.

Many people believe that all Rock and Roll is satanic, but that involves some degree of speculation. No such speculation is required for bands that openly proclaim themselves to be satanic.

I have known real Satan worshipers. They were all fans of hard-core satanic music and fully believed that this music was intended to promote satanism. It is naive to imagine that real satanism does not exist and does not promote itself through satanic music.

Yup. It only appealed to me 1) because it was rebellious 2) had faster, heavier riffs and 3) made me cooler with the other kids because I was not one of them. My uncle even had Venom and I liked it. Well, it all changed when I first bought out of my own pocket money GNR’s Appetite for Destruction’ and I changed my preference in the genre.

Of course real statnism exists. I would never deny that. My question would be; “were the members of this band satanists BEFORE they were a band?”

Because if NOT, then it’s a stunt to gain notoriety and make money.

Consider the Christian bands. Presumably, not every member is a genuine believer, but most probably are and they use lyrics to promote their message. The same principles would apply to satanic bands.

If you acknowledge that satanists exist, why presume they are not involved in satanic music?

I used to like some of the riffs in satanic music, but no longer listen for the sake of my soul.

If you want to make your toes curl and still rock the Heck out check out Texas in July and similar bands:

Texas In July - No Greater Love

There is a conviction,
When you believe above,
Absence leaks from inside,
And brings you back to life again,
I fear an emptiness,
So I just seek the truth,
Then I just find myself,
Coming back to you.

Lord please guide us through our struggles tonight,
Let your presence be known here alongside of us throughout This time,
Let us know why we are here tonight,
It's for a purpose,
A certain reason,
Allow our hearts to know that we are here because of our love for
The faith and what we do together as one, as well as for you lord,
Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him,
For he who comes to God must believe that he is,
And that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him."

No greater love, There is no greater love.

Lord bind our souls as one,
There is no greater love.

Let your presence be known.
