Looks like theres a little war brewing between Rick Perry and former presidential candidate Herman Cain, who recently criticized the Texas governors depth and knowledge of political issues.
I hope Herman doesnt think running a Godfathers Pizza is the same as running the state of Texas, Perry said on Laura Ingrahams Radio Show after the host played a clip of Cains comments and the Texas governor touted his job creation record in the state.
During an interview on the Fox Business Network Wednesday, Cain called Perry a foregone superstar who wasnt deep on any of the issues.
He started out with a lot of hoopla, and it wasnt deserved, because the media, as well as the establishment, wanted to make him a foregone superstar as soon as he got in the race, Cain said Wednesday morning. And he had to debate. People found out that he had very weak debating skills, in my opinion. He wasnt deep on any of the issues, and this sort of thing.
Perry continued to criticize Cains 9-9-9 plan, which became the platform for the former candidates presidential bid.

Youre being kind, Imus said.
You know, Im trying to be respectful, Cain responded.
Cain suspended his campaign last month amid allegations of sexual harassment and a 13-year affair. His bid was also dealt a blow by a series of gaffes that brought attention to his lack of experience on foreign policy and other issues; among his campaign-trail stumbles, he appeared at a loss when asked by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to critique President Obamas Libya policy. Oh shut up and go away, Herman.
I think Cain, Hannity and Luntz should take their act on the road.
They’ll be a hit on stage with Mitt Romney.
Perry’s ability to ignore the bait has been one his very weak points. He’s on a stage much larger than the round table in Austin and thus his quirks show up much quicker and to a much broader audience.
Cain was still a better overall candidate than Rick “Vulture Capitalism” Perry. When Perry finally drops out he can run as Hugo Chavez running mate in Venezuela.
“I think Cain, Hannity and Luntz should take their act on the road.
Theyll be a hit on stage with Mitt Romney.
“
Bingo! Birds of a feather, all of them.
I was a Cain supporter, even donated to his campaign.
It wouldn’t break my heart for Perry to drop out, though I certainly don’t blame him for sticking it out until SC.
My support of Cain had little to do with Cain’s understanding of political issues, and Cain himself admitted that in large and critical areas (e.g. Foreign Policy) he would have to substantially rely on others.
Perry has been a successful governeor for well over two terms. It is laughable to claim that he doesn’t understand at least the domestic issues.
For some reason (Twitter note by AZ operative?) Cain seems to want to blame Perry for the flock of floozies that trampled throguh his campaign. To me, there are at least two more likely targets.
Even if Perry or his operatives were instrumental, it does a Cain no good to state something that
1. Is not true
2. Invites a comparison where he is unlikely to come out ahead.
I wouldn’t mind a clear field for Santorum, but I also would be okay with a clear field for Perry. Providing locker room bulletin board material is no way to promote a mature way to work out a counter to the Romney candidacy.
I am disappointed in Herman Cain.
#1, Cain shoudn't be saying this stuff. To my knowledge he hasn't endorsed anyone. Sounds like sour grapes to me and does not speak well of him. Fact is, Governor Perry has run a very large state with a large and complex economy. He's in his third term there and is the longest sitting governor in the country and the longest in Texas histoyr. Clearly, millions of people in Texas like him, whatever other faults not with standing.
#2, Perry should not even respond. He should ignore this. If he has any hope of getting back in the race, he has much more important things to worry about. He should keep pushing jobs, his reduced term congress, foreign policy, etc.
Anyhow...a really wierd election cycle this...precisely when the GOP and conservatives need a very strong and well oiled machine.
OH MY GOSH, talk about hutzpah. Cain your so damn full of yourself it's pitiful and disgusting
And he had to debate. People found out that he had very weak debating skills, in my opinion. He wasnt deep on any of the issues, and this sort of thing.
AND YOUR DEBATING SKILLS WERE? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. 9-9-9. Yes, lets' talk about deep issues, rofl.
Herman was thinking about Deep Dish Pizza , I suppose ....
It would be nice if Perry would break double digits in SC and then graciaously bow out with a win.
What happens is they get a little bump and start thinking they can keep on winning.
Cain, whom I oriniginally supported, should just keep quiet unless he wants to endorse someone.
Well, maybe, as that man certainly has a lot of sauce.lol
You’re dreaming. Your love for Cain has turned into obsession.
Cain never had anything to recommend him. No experience (except brief stint as pizza boss) no foreign policy knowledge AT ALL.
And he was mean and hateful from the start. He dissed Perry constantly and LIED about him.
I thank God for that last woman. She got the Cainster out of here and now he should just shut up and please go away.
“Well, maybe, as that man certainly has a lot of sauce.lol”
But the poor guy can’t count past 9 9 9 ! LOL
You may be right. I’m sure Laura baited him with the Cain quote. She is quite the nasty piece of work herself.
I suppose he could have said something noncommital like, ‘Obviously I disagree with Mr. Cain, but since he’s withdrawn, I won’t get into it with him.
omg, the cain people are back to gloat.
It’s okay. I could have gloated when their boy’s ugly past was revealed, but I was way too nice a girl.
Sorry, but you basically spent your own money to help finance Cain's book tour. His campaign was never serious. He was never going to be the nominee. Herman was making it up as he was going along in order to sell books and build name ID so he could score a better radio or TV gig.
Rintense supports Santorum.
Maybe now she does, but she was a cainiac back in the day.
What she mainly supports is coming on Perry threads and making nasty comments.
. Lets help him. 9-9-9=27 that equals 9
add his 3-3-3= 9
9+9=18= 9
And there you have his 9-9-9 pan/plan,man, can't you see that? lol
other post was a disaster, rofl.
Oh I see. You have no problem with Perry making ‘nasty commsnts’ about someone who isn’t even in the race, but you continuously whine about non Perry supporters making ‘nasty comments’ about) Perry.
You typify EVERYTHING that is wrong with the Perry camp. I honestly feel sorry for you.
Bay, altura and some of her rah rahs would have you believe that those of us who shifted support among candidates are bitter. But what they fail to realize is we’ve ALWAYS supported conservatism.
Which explains why so few have shifted to Perry.
Get your facts straight...your man started this, but don’t let the facts ever get in your way...
“During an interview on the Fox Business Network Wednesday, Cain called Perry a foregone superstar who wasnt deep on any of the issues.
With that, I cannot give any credibility of his criticism of any other candidate - "people who live in glass houses should not throw bricks"; which is a politically correct way of saying that Herman Cain's criticisms of Perry are akin to "the pot calling the kettle black".
Those aren’t his only weak points, his ineptness on policy is just one of many.
Correct, his campaign, as well as him personally, botched the responses to the ho brigade..
True, but which one is in the race and in desperate need of support? Responding to Cain was childish. He should be attacking Obama AND Romney instead of these childish sidebars.
Agreed. Both sound like sniping children.
“Anyway, looks like I’ll be forced to choose between Mitt or Mitt after all.”
No, there will be third choice.
Now Perry's between a rock and a hard place----damned if he does---damned if he doesn't.
Perry did NOT campaign in NH AND FINISHED ALMOST DEAD LAST.
However, Perry DID campaign in Iowa---AND FINISHED ALMOST DEAD LAST.
----Perry spent the most money-$6 million,
----ran around in two campaign buses,
----held numerous campaign events,
---- glad-handed thousands of Iowans,
----ran non-stop ads touting his conservative credentials,
----trucked in 1000 Texans for groundwork,
----campaigned with California legislators and other high-level supporters
----AND FINISHED ALMOST DEAD LAST.
Cain should have just faded away and kept quiet, however, his comments about Perry are pretty accurate none the less.
That's so wrong. You may not like Cain one little bit, but to thank God for these sleazy women with questionable stories that never produced a shred of credible evidence that Cain broke his vows of marriage, is beyond the pale. I expect better from you. They tried and partially succeeded in ruining a fairly good conservative, and you're thankful. Wrong.
On that we agree. I can barely watch her when she fills in for O'Reilly. She asks a question and never stops for the answer, all in an extremely vitriolic manner.
Talk about defining “Zing” downward. I was excited about Perry when he got in like many but he just seems slow. A) don’t pick a fight with a non-candidate and B) if you’re going to “zing” then “zing!”
Now keep in mind I like Herman but I’d have used something like “I wish Herman all the best in his return to the private sector. Hold the sausage.”
Too bad they are both right.
“He should be attacking Obama AND Romney instead of these childish sidebars.”
That’s exactly what Perry has been doing ...and doing it vigorously...attacking Obama AND Romney.
What has Cain been doing ? Attacking Perry.
The Cainiacs were definently rabid about Perry when Cain was in the race. Some still are and they attack and smear you all the time.
Well, I’m sorry if it offends you, but it’s what I think.
It wasn’t that woman’s fault that Cain had a roving eye and he admitted giving her money over the years that his wife didn’t know about.
I never liked him at all. He lost me when he called Perry a racist over the Rock. He lost me further when he accused Perry of leaking the story about the women.
He never had much to offer as a candidate and people here were so devoted to him it was sickening.
I am glad he had to step out and now he’s just continuing to try to hurt Perry even though he’s no longer in.
It may be a little mean, but if the women were sleazy, all that means is that he was messing with sleazy women.
It might be better left unsaid, but this last trick he pulled on Perry was just too much.
Who CARES what Cain is doing! He is of no consequence.
You're thanking God for liars? Luckily for the rest of the country Perry supporters aren't very bright or honest, easy to pick out of a crowd.
altura is the board perrybot complainer, jumped on the Cain bashing train without vetting the evidence and was all too happy to join the lynch mob.
