Rick Perry Zings Herman Cain [on Laura Ingraham's show]

Looks like there’s a little war brewing between Rick Perry and former presidential candidate Herman Cain, who recently criticized the Texas governor’s depth and knowledge of political issues.

“I hope Herman doesn’t think running a Godfather’s Pizza is the same as running the state of Texas,” Perry said on Laura Ingraham’s Radio Show after the host played a clip of Cain’s comments and the Texas governor touted his job creation record in the state.

During an interview on the Fox Business Network Wednesday, Cain called Perry a “foregone superstar” who “wasn’t deep on any of the issues.”

“He started out with a lot of hoopla, and it wasn’t deserved, because the media, as well as the establishment, wanted to make him a foregone superstar as soon as he got in the race,” Cain said Wednesday morning. ”And he had to debate. People found out that he had very weak debating skills, in my opinion. He wasn’t deep on any of the issues, and this sort of thing.”

Perry continued to criticize Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, which became the platform for the former candidate’s presidential bid.

Talk about defining “Zing” downward. I was excited about Perry when he got in like many but he just seems slow. A) don’t pick a fight with a non-candidate and B) if you’re going to “zing” then “zing!”

Now keep in mind I like Herman but I’d have used something like “I wish Herman all the best in his return to the private sector. Hold the sausage.”

“He should be attacking Obama AND Romney instead of these childish sidebars.”

That’s exactly what Perry has been doing ...and doing it vigorously...attacking Obama AND Romney.

What has Cain been doing ? Attacking Perry.

The Cainiacs were definently rabid about Perry when Cain was in the race. Some still are and they attack and smear you all the time.

Well, I’m sorry if it offends you, but it’s what I think.

It wasn’t that woman’s fault that Cain had a roving eye and he admitted giving her money over the years that his wife didn’t know about.

I never liked him at all. He lost me when he called Perry a racist over the Rock. He lost me further when he accused Perry of leaking the story about the women.

He never had much to offer as a candidate and people here were so devoted to him it was sickening.

I am glad he had to step out and now he’s just continuing to try to hurt Perry even though he’s no longer in.

It may be a little mean, but if the women were sleazy, all that means is that he was messing with sleazy women.

It might be better left unsaid, but this last trick he pulled on Perry was just too much.

"I thank God for that last woman. She got the Cainster out of here and now he should just shut up and please go away

You're thanking God for liars? Luckily for the rest of the country Perry supporters aren't very bright or honest, easy to pick out of a crowd.

altura is the board perrybot complainer, jumped on the Cain bashing train without vetting the evidence and was all too happy to join the lynch mob.

Look, I never said anything while Mr. Cain was in the race.

Even though he constantly took swipes at Perry, I said nothing.

I would say nothing now, except that even though he’s out of it he made another gratuitous insult to Perry.

If the women were liars, Cain would still be in the race. They apparently were not.

altura got pretty fed up with the ping list and the posse who would come on Perry threads with the sole purpose of insulting him.

altura never did that on Cain threads.

altura never jumped on the Cain bashing train. If you would check her posts, you would see that’s true.

Using the term lynch mob is racist and implies something tht is not true.

Cain ran as Mr. Perfect and he wasn’t. That’s the bottom line.

Not a single one of those women EVER proved what they alleged. Yet, they needed to come forward and tell their stories to purge their sweet little souls, so that the truth would be known.

Oh, yes, those little women that had been wronged so badly by Cain that they shut up and went away just as soon as they had accomplished the real mission, which was Cain out of the race.

How very nice of you to throw in with those women. I'm sure they appreciate your support. And we wonder why we end up with slick, next-in-line liberal republicans as national nominees.

All this so that you can feel good about supporting a candidate that can't poll 2%.

Oh, don’t be so bitter. I defended Cain originally from these charges and they were rather trivial, at least until that last woman. Cain was forced to admit he gave her money for a long period of time without the knowledge of his sweet little wife.

His main claim to fame was that he was a truly good Christian man and a conservative. When that perception got big cracks in it, he more or less had to get out.

I haven’t ‘thrown in’ with the women. Some of them seemed trashy and one or two seemed normal. But those women didn’t take Cain down, his own behavior took him down and you might as well admit it and get over it.

I feel good about supporting Rick Perry and it has nothing to do with Cain, except that I do hold Cain reponsible for the early false insinuations he made about Perry... one, that he was a racist based on that stupid rock story and two, that he was somehow responsible for the women.

I’m very disappointed that Perry is not getting the support he deserves but if you knew anything about him at all, you would know that he is extremely conservative both fiscally and socially. No one running is more conservative.

If I were you, I would not gloat that Perry is polling poorly as he is our best chance to beat Obama and have a good conservative president.

Stating an obvious fact is not gloating. Perry is not only polling poorly, he is performing poorly when votes are actually cast.

He wounded himself further when he announced in Iowa that he was heading back to Texas to assess his candidacy, only to go on to South Carolina the next day.

"Using the term lynch mob is racist and implies something tht is not true."

But you have no problem pulling the race card when you run and complain to the mods. Many of the Perry supporters were more worried about another black man making it to the WH than what the man stood for and attacked Cain right out of the gate without any evidence to the allegations.

But that's acceptable to people like you.

Perry has consistently been his own worst enemy and the arrogant Perry fangirls have not helped his image.

So what are you going to do when Texas Toast Perry drops out after a dismal SC showing? You buffoons are helping to bury Perry and aren’t bright enough to recognize it.

It doesn't help any candidate when a supporter acts like a rabid follower online. Nor does it help when the only way a supporter can make a candidate look good is by trash talking the other candidates.

There were quite a few Palin thugs in this forum for the past couple of years, and how they think that they are advancing a candidate by cussing at and belittling anyone that doesn't march in lockstep is beyond me. People like that do more harm than good.

Perry supporters can't seem to fathom how someone could remain favorable on Cain, yet remaining on the Perry bandwagon is perfectly normal. Go figure.
