The Anti-Christ Walks Through Mexico
Friends of Ours ^ | 01/13/12 | Friends of Ours

The corpses continue to pile up in apparently God-forsaken Mexico where turf wars among drug cartels have resulted in 47,515 killings since December 2006 as reported by The Telegraph.

And out of the human carnage the Forbes-listed billionaire Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the head of the Sinaloa cartel, has emerged as "the world's most powerful drug trafficker" according to the U.S. Treasury Department which finally got around to blacklisting his associates under the Drug Kingping Act "which prohibits people in the U.S. from conducting businesses with them and freezes their U.S. assets" as reported by MSNBC.

El Chapo's product rots souls; his money corrupts governments; his soldiers take lives. And he has emerged as a celebrated national hero in Mexico who operates with impunity. Indeed, earlier this week tv star Kate del Castillo, popular with both Mexican and U.S. audiences, bowed to the anti-Christ himself as reported by Tracy Wilkinson for the Los Angeles Times: "Del Castillo said this week that she regarded . . . Guzman more credible than 'governments that hide truths from me, even when they are painful ones.'"

The Mayans predicted 2012 for the end of the world, and perhaps it's appropriate that the catalyst for such an apocalypse would originate from their Mexican homeland. And may Del Castillo then be dispatched to hell with her drug lord once his false way is exposed.

Mexico is a cesspool, and it is an outrage that we don’t take our border security more seriously than we do.

Actors and actresses spend a lot of time pretending to be something that they are not. I think eventually they begin to believe that the rest of the world is just as phony as they are, and that anything can be made to be true if you just proclaim it and act as though it were true.

Thus, there is no absolute truth, no real anchor point. A drug cartel leader can be a really great person, while the government officials fighting against him are evil because they “hide the truth.” The truth, of course, isn’t supposed to really exist. But swimming in contradictions is part of life for relativism’s true believers.

Can’t close the border properly, or the drug runners would be slowed down. How many on our side of the border are on the take from the drug cartels, I wonder.

Why not. The DEA is actually delivering coke and laundering money for the Mexican cartels.

Mexico allowed US agents to launder drug money

You do realize that Mexicans occasionally commit murder, assault, rape, etc for reasons other than drugs.

While I notice I often get slammed for simplistic statements of American exceptionalism there is a difference here. It is all the police and law enforcement in this country that actually believe in their job. The good the decent amongst the people who enforce the law die trying to do what is right on both sides of the border there are good honest Mexicans but the fatality rate is higher for the good honest man down there. The difference being that corruption while widespread is not total on the USA side, people still have some faith in the police and government outside the ghettos. The gangster and the outlaw may be mythic figures in both countries but here the good guys are respected even more and not betrayed on a wholesale basis. The law enforcement agencies can actually sometimes mount operations here without having their actions reported ahead of time to the criminals. Yeah, I know there are many instances where corruption and incompetence occur on our side and our police trample our rights, but enough people believe in this country that things can work. There are those in America and Mexico who place their country above themselves but somehow the right person seems to step up on this side of the border and like Elliot Ness their faith makes them untouchable. The major thing to worry about is the creation of more massive ghettos with illegals to spread corruption like a cancer. This country is greater then our ghettos and our outlaws.
