How Do You Handle a Psychopath?
www.KerryLutz.com ^ | 01/13/12 | Kerry Lutz

Answer--Very gently.

Chris Duane and Kerry Lutz sit down for a discussion of psychopaths and what to do about them. We've all probably encountered them at work, in government, in friendships or perhaps even had a relationship with one. Chris explains how to identify them and what you can do. Sometimes it's best to flee. Other times confrontation works and then perhaps the most effective method is simply ignoring them. It all depends upon the situation you find yourself in. But whatever you do, you must get away from them if at all possible.

The history of politics and government is riddled with these destructive personality types. From Napoleon, to Lenin, to Hitler, to Stalin, to Mao, these dangerous men are all been certified sociopaths (Chris likes psychopath better). They've killed millions and inflicted untold pain and suffering. However, it is often the lesser known psychopaths who are in a position reek the most havoc in your life, which is why you need to be on your guard to avoid all such engagements.

Always fun, often irreverent Kerry Lutz and Chris Duane are helping to evolve thought and action in the New Economy.

My solution is, I kill absolutely everyone I meet, on the chance they might be a psychopath.

It beats being paranoid!

Sociopaths and Psychopaths are both dangerous to be around. However in my personal experience the Psychopaths can be held off, (A shotgun held to the gut works well).

Sociopaths on the other hand are social chameleons and if they get their hooks into you... You start to die as the suck you dry, of energy, finances and love. So as far as I am concerned Sociopaths in your personal life are much more dangerous. Psychopaths are more dangerous if they are in power.

A couple of my old bosses didn’t just jog down the old psycho path, they screamed down it like a top-fuel dragster.

How does one handle a psycho?

Does the phrase “Center of Visable Mass” sound familiar?

That sounds reasonable.

I agree...

BUT doesn’t that make US psychopath’s? —

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Definitely a ‘vicious cycle’.

Self defence isn't psychopathic.

Yes there is a difference. Psychopaths don’t know the difference between right and wrong. Sociopaths know the difference between right and wrong they just don’t give a chit. At least thats what I remember from Psychology 105. LOL!!

I’m actually listening to the interview, and I’d be a little careful: he’s basically characterizing ANYONE rich as a psychopath. It sounds very 99%-ish. This sounds to me like a new way to demonize anyone wealthy as a first step toward stripping them of their wealth. I mean... does Herman Cain seem like a psychopath?

Psychosis and Psychopathy are different. I have a son who is psychotic ... he occasionally hallucinates and his view of reality is pretty weird.

I’ve known a genuine psychopath. A person who has no conscience and a perfect liar. Surprisingly, I got along with this person pretty well. This person instinctively lied, even when no lie was necessary. The psychopath very often appears to be the calm center of a storm. Turmoil and mayhem swirl around him, but most people are oblivious to the fact that he is the cause of all the chaos surrounding him.

I attended a class on psychopaths, conducted by a renowned psychiatrist with expertise on the subject. As he was describing families and organizations with psychopaths in the middle, my mind went to a then-candidate for the democRatic nomination; a guy named Bill Clinton. He fit the description to a tee. Over the course of his presidency my belief that he was a psychopath never wavered.

The best book on the subject is “The Mask of Sanity”, which you can download for FREE!
