Charleston, SC - Medal of Honor recipient Major General James E. Livingston, USMC (Ret) today endorsed Newt Gingrichs candidacy for president of the United States.
Newt GingrichA South Carolina Lowcountry resident, decorated war hero, and prominent member of Americas veterans community, General Livingston today withdrew his support of Texas Governor Rick Perrys candidacy and announced he intends to promptly begin campaigning for Speaker Newt Gingrich. I appreciate Governor Perrys efforts, and adore him and his wife Anita. But I have come to the conclusion that Republicans need to get behind a conservative candidate who is developing the momentum needed to win in South Carolina and beyond, General Livingston explained.

Medal of Honor recipient and Tea Party leader looked at the short list of those uniquely qualified to be president of the U.S.:
Newt Gingrich contributed to the economic thought and philosophy of the Reagan Revolution and was instrumental in leading the GOP to the majority in Congress. His colleagues would elect Gingrich to be Speaker of the House which made him third in line to the President of the U.S.
I suspect that General Livingstons endorsement is worth a lot more than McCains or Haleys in SC.
It didn't do Perry much good....

I hope it’s a big deal, I’ve never heard of the General.
Doesn’t matter. It appears that the MSM libs will soon release their latest t*rd on the Newtster.
Of course, info on the Cretin-in-Chief’s completely hidden (and undoubtedly criminal and slothful life) will never be exposed.
UNLESS, some brave souls out there start getting into records of the idiot - legally or illegally.
It’s time for war, folks.
Legal or not.
In one ferocious battle after another, without a moment's rest between the defense of a key bridge and an assault on an enemy-held village, Echo Company had lost almost two-thirds of its Marines. But when another company of Marines radioed in desperate need of help, one relentless leader drove Echo forward again to answer the call: Medal of Honor recipient James E. Livingston.
His tactics were skillful; his leadership fearless. Captain Livingston had been injured twice by grenade fragments in the battle at Dai Do, near the Cua Viet River in Vietnam, but he refused medical treatment and never even slowed down. On May 2nd, 1968, he led charges under heavy fire across rice paddies, into enemy trenches, and through several bunkers, driving back an enemy force of far superior size to rescue the stranded Marines. At last, hit by machine gun fire and unable to walk, Livingston refused evacuation and remained on the front line until the last of the survivors were safe. He received the Medal of Honor at the White House on May 14th, 1970.
Rising to the rank of Major General in 1991, he took command of the newly-formed Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, Louisiana. Now retired, Maj. Gen. Livingston continues to lead as a board member of several business and volunteer groups, including the Red Cross, the Boy Scouts, the National World War II Museum, the Medal of Honor Foundation, and has recently testified before Congress on behalf of early intervention for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Love the photo of Newt. Have noticed that nothing but the best of the best endorse Gingrich. Sowell, Palin, Commander Steele of Black Hawk Down, Michael Reagan, the Lt Gov of SC and more. Great endorsement by an American hero.
It probably didn’t make any headlines with polls for Perry hovering around 5%.
Hopefully, between this endorsement and the one yesterday from Sarah Palin, more will abandon the two Ricks and rally behind Newt.
Santorum was on Hanity’s talkie this pm and mentioned bringing someone with him to talk about and defend the the peed-off marines...this endorsement is a kick in the groin if that is the case...Ahh But there are dark clouds clustering in Newts horizon .
Apparently the first Mrs Gingrich has somethings she is saying to ABC which won’t be very complementary. They might sit on this and release after ...
I hope every conservative in S.C. votes for Gingrich. We can fight about who to support in Fla.
Contrast this fine American to John "3 Purple Hearts" Kerry. I respest this endorsement more than most any politicians.
