The One Simple Reason Newt Gingrich Will Not Win The General Election: Women

Posted by RealQuiet (Diary) December 7th

Newt Gingrich has conducted a brilliant campaign strategy since he stumbled back in late spring regarding Paul Ryan’s Path to Prosperity Plan. He has been masterful in debates and shown an eagerness to take on and fight the media elite. He has owned up to his personal and political mistakes and stated candidly what his positions are, though many may disagree with them but still live with them.

He hasn’t shown the brash ego and self-centeredness that reared its ugly head so many times when he was the Speaker of the House. He certainly seems to be a changed man.

BUT…..

Though Gingrich has engaged in his own political cronyism and playing both sides of the fence on political issues like Mitt Romney has in the past (which the Republican voter seems to be willing to overlook), there is one thing that will stop him from winning the general election:

A considerable majority of American women will not vote for him because of his past marital actions of betrayal

Most American women whether they be Democrat, independent, or Republican will not vote for a man who cheated on his previous wife(s). Among women, men like this cannot and will not be trusted. People like to point out that Ronald Reagan had two wives. The key thing is Ronald Reagan never cheated on Jane Wyman, his first wife. She left him because there was nothing left in common between them as she claimed. That is a very big difference.

THIS woman and every Republican female friend supports Newt. Who ARE these people? Same ones who told us a week ago that Mitt had it sewn up tight?

I’m astonished anew how easily manipulated people can be. This is probably the fourth or fifth time today I’ve read or heard this “Newt is DOOMED with women” meme, all obviously concocted for release after the ABC “exclusive” with the ex-wife. Unfortunately, she came off as self-serving, vindictive and unappealing to both women and men. She completely failed in delivering the “kibosh” the Left and the Mitt-bots were hoping for, and it ended up that the “kibosh” was Newt’s raking of the “elite media” in the debate. Massive fail for the Newt-bashers.

The poll was on there all right. Hannity on the other hand, had interviews with several SC women voters. All said it was a nonissue.

"The difference between Clinton/Obama and Newt is that both Clinton and Obama flirt with women. They charm women. They schmooze women and give women the impression that they just might get into bed with them."

Mitt won’t carry Ohio either but Newt is polling pretty well here.

“women want to be romanced, they want to be wooed....” etc.
They ALSO want a healthy economy and some assurance
that America is not going straight to hell.
The usual dynamics from 20 years ago with Clinton, and 3 years ago with Obama could be fading very, very fast.
The Left will get their usual women voters, but there will likely be a little attrition there also.
But everything depends upon whether we’re talking about the Primaries or the General Election.
The argument against Gingrich re: the woman vote is being used to make him unelectable compared to Romney in the General Election-—that’s the only reason to invoke it.

The key to this whole Gingrich woman problem seems to be Marianne Gingrich.

What makes all the wholesome idiots think that maybe she hasn’t been the problem from the day he met her?

Think about that for a few moments...All Newt’s problems started and continue to be Marianne Gingrich!

Women, not all, can turn out to be a massive pain some times and she might be that very pain right now!

If I wasn’t so dang lazy, I could go on for days about women who have been a PITA!

Santorums supposed ethics have never worked in politics and never will, until Jesus enforces them. Give us a break please.

Here’s why Santorum is electable. Newt is on record as saying FDR is his favorite president and was a global warming adherent. He is soft on illegal immigration, and has a litany of ethical lapses, and has $1.6m FreddieMac albatross around his neck. Obama will unload his $1B on all of this. If Santorum carries PA (favorite son candidate), attracts enough Reagan working-class Democrats to put Wisconsin and Ohio back into play and with Rubio as VP, FL returns to the red state column, its history for Obama. And, yes, he’ll pull a larger share of the women’s vote, a crucial demographic. The ultimate issue is defeating Obama.

This freeper is not going to jump all over you, a good looking man may bring a smile to ones face, but doesn’t matter when your in the voting booth unless your IQ is room temperature...just like a good looking woman brings a smile to a mans face but doesnt mean you want to marry them...

"They ALSO want a healthy economy and some assurance'

Thank you. And there's plenty of real facts about women fleeing the Dems for that very reason.

Republicans always lose the women’s vote. Women don’t pick Presidents; men do.

Ok, I got it... it is because ZERO will NOT Debate Newt on TV Ever, he and the dems will find away to avoid it at all cost and therefore mute the point.

You are absolutely correct and this other type of debate that Newt wants to do DEFINITELY won't happen. He is the incumbent and will not put himself through anything like that. Obama has been watching the debates and knows it would be stupid for him to debate Newt. Newt will just have to follow Obama around the country doing whatever it is that he will do.

Good.

Hope the MSM chokes on this crap.

Bet John King is still dumbfounded about the slap down he took.

I’m going to vote for whoever the Republican nominee is.

Newt may lose, but with Romney we run the risk of the base staying home and losing not only the Presidency but the house and many propositions.

After tomorrow, what will the LSM's new meme be in what order?

Blacks won't vote for him
Hispanics won't vote for him
Jews won't vote for him
Democrats won't vote for him
Ron Paul's people won't jump to him

“One other itemm. The SC Primary is almost half women, and the combined voters of Huckabee and Thompson was around 53% women. If PPD’s numbers about a 9 or 10 point lead are true, it would mean that Gingrich is winning the female vote and that the gender gap is not as significant as it was first reported in IA and NH. Haven’t seen this yet, so have nothing to compare it to.”

Yes. Of course Newt will get most of the conservative women vote. He won’t get the vote of most moderate women.

Don’t sweat it, what you are dealing with are people who live in a bubble. Bubble mentality makes one see the world from their perspective only without any reference to reality. The left lives in their bubble, and many on our side have climbed into their own bubble. I used to think that polls were made up by liberals. But thru the years, I realized that when my candidate was behind in the polls he usually ended up losing. The key to success in any venture be it politics or business is to keep your perspective grounded in reality. An example, I am a big hockey fan, and for the life of me I couldn’t understand why they never talked about hockey on sports radio. Because I loved hockey it never occurred to me that not everybody else loved it also. Its like politics, not everybody thinks like I do. So when I look at the polls I see a snap shot of reality, even when I find my view a minority one.
