My wife teaches school in a public school, because she couldn’t find a job at a private one in our area.
She wears a cross every day, and has invited kids to go to church. Got some flack for her stand on gays also.
Is she evil?

The greatest threat facing mankind is mankind itself.
1) Work in an abortion center. I am sure there are many opportunities to share the Gospel in an abortuary, and even invite workers and clients to church, but I would not work in one.
2) I would not work for a school whose worldview is godless. Merely to cooperate in the classroom, read the godless textbooks, and finish home assignments, the child must think and reason godlessly. Personally, I would **starve** to death before forcing that on any child, or cooperating with it.

On an up note, I went to a born again Church for a Christmas service and the whole place was teeming with babies and children of all ages. What’s more there were countless pregnant women there. It was so refreshing to see and hear all those beautiful children. They truly were being fruitful and multiplying and they all seemed so happy!
Sound’s like God’s plan playing out. He told us that we would become rare as a species before the end times.

Never liked or ate oysters. However after the fifth child I got a vasectomy. Ten is a good number. Give your parents my compliments.
First of all, my original reply to you was a little snarky. I apologize. But I stand by the content and trust that we can respectfully disagree as brothers (or sisters?) in Christ.
However, nothing in what I wrote could be construed to suggest that I think Christians should work in abortion clinics. Although if a Christian did believe themselves to be called by God to go to work in an abortion clinic, there might be some legitimacy to it. Much the same way that Joseph wound up running Egypt. Or Daniel became the king’s advisor and governor of Babylon.
I know way too many Christians who teach in public schools out of vocation. It is absurd to suggest that following their calling entails either a conscious effort on their part (or even a tacit assent) to destroy the eternal souls of children. Even the suggestion of that is disturbing.
Not everyone can afford a private, Christian education— and that, in itself, is no guarantee of avoiding liberal indoctrination. And despite what many home-schoolers argue, not everyone can (or should) homeschool. There will always be a significant percentage of children in public schools. Do we simply abandon those children to “losing their eternal souls?” Or do we celebrate the fact that there are those who, having been called to be salt and light in the world, have chosen to willingly enter the lion’s den for the sake of the testimony of Christ and for the sake of those children.
If the Lord has told you to cease being friends with public school teachers, by all means follow him. Just be certain it is the Lord you are listening to and not merely the tenets of some ideology. And be very careful about suggesting that your behavior should be normative.
In my case, prostate cancer and its surgery ended my race for a dynasty but I am very happy with the children I have.
Can't help but feel sorry for those lost souls who decided to never have kids - missed out on the best part of life.
Just kidding about the oysters - last time I had 'em I got gastroenteritis and got really sick.
The statistics from the Barna foundation show that the faith of very few children manage to survive this constant godless indoctrination. Of children from highly active evangelical homes, only 15% remain active in their faith 2 years after graduation. It can only be far worse from less active or less committed Christian families.
So?...**I** am the person who made the comparison to working in an abortion center. Little baby bodies are aborted in these centers, but in government schools it is the faith of children that is aborted. Which is worse? Hm? At least the pre-born fly directly to the arms of a loving God. Those who lose their faith risk serious temporal and even eternal suffering.
As for your Christian friends who believe they are “called” to work in schools dedicated to godlessness?...well?....I suggest that they take the Barna foundation facts to the Lord, pray about it, and see if there some other way to reach these children, co-workers, and parents.
One of the problems with Christians teaching in the godless schools is that they may beguile parents. Gee! If the minister's wife or sweet Mrs. Honey Bun works in the local godless school, hey! it can't be **that** bad! ( But it is **that** bad!)
Ok...So let's address the issue of what would happen to children if all Christians and conservatives left the government schools tomorrow, and voted to have them all shut down by Friday? Seriously, what would happen?
Answer: There would be chaos for about 2 weeks. By the end of the month, churches, and local community groups would have responded. Within 6 months millions would be pouring into private voucher foundations so that every child would have access to a private education. Dame schools and one room schools would form in homes of trusted neighbors. The local Kinder Care would open elementary schools. The Karate studio would start a school as well as the local children's theater. The parks and recreation departments would take over team sports, orchestra, band, and cheerleading.
If you think that children would be abandoned if Christians and conservatives left the government schools and voted to close them then you have little faith not only in your fellow Americans but also God.
Interesting call for chaos as a means to foment change. I believe your assessment of the time it would take for things to improve is overly optimistic. Maybe not for the comfortable suburbs (though I am skeptical even there), but for many in the inner cities chaos is a polite euphemism for the end result. Somalia might be a better description.
As I said before, we can respectfully disagree. So with all due respect, I will keep my school teacher friends whom you consider so evil.

Evil is only **one** option. I have also said that they are either too stupid, to much of a Useful Idiot, or too devoted to their paycheck rather than their Christian principles.
Not all of them are evil, many have very good intentions, but we know were that road leads.
Godless government and socialist-entitlement schooling is the root cause of this moral degeneracy. Advocating its continuation isn't the solution.
But...Just so we can be clear, I do NOT want the complete and sudden shut down of the government schools. We should work toward complete separation of school and state by gradually building the infrastructure needed. Vouchers, tax credits, charters. on-line education, qualifying exams, taking the GED ( or private exam) at any age, and supporting the growth of homeschooling should all lead to **one** goal: Complete separation of school and state on every level.
So I guess there really isn’t a lot of latitude here.

Or they are devoted to their paycheck above Christian principles.
Or they merely have good intentions and are going to Hell.
Or they can agree with you, quit their jobs and abandon their call.
This demonstrates precisely what I mean by allowing “Christian principles” to become an ideology. Any ideology gives its adherents a set of laws by which they can condemn those who disagree with them.
Ideology is an easy road to follow. It is the way of the pharisee. And it, too, is paved with good intentions.
