The truly dismal state of the union
Washington Times ^ | 1-23-12 | Joseph Curl

This guy is Barack Obama. He is not the least bit to blame for the dismal state of the U.S. economy. George W. Bush is, for sure, and that evil Dick Cheney, oh, no doubt. House Speaker John A. Boehner — evil, too — is, of course, to blame. But guess what? So is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, and every Democrat in the House and Senate.

Great opinion piece.

The 2012 State of the Union speech will be the most lie-filled of all Obama’s speeches, and that’s saying something.

Imagine having to put lipstick on this pig.

Three years in, what can he claim he’s done to make things better?

More than ever before, viewers will have concluded that they’re looking at the problem. The problem will be standing right there reading to us from his teleprompter.

I expect him to say that his agenda would work if those waskly Republicans weren't obstructing it. IOW, he's going to run against congress for as you indicate, he can't run on his own record.

Campaign speech.
And to be followed up with media cheering.

I remember a time when a sitting president gave the sotu speech and he could be believed.

waste of time.
