Newt Gingrinch dramatically rewrote the 2012 nomination story for Republicans with his decisive 12-point victory over previous front-runner Mitt Romney in South Carolina. It couldnt have been much more devastating for Mitt, who appears to have lost nearly or all the congressional districts and in just about every voter demographic.
Without getting too carried away, its easy to draw a few pretty clear conclusions. . .

it means what we all already knew. that once you got away from the caucus/mob scene of iowa, and left a state in which he nearly had home field advantage, that the base wouldn’t vote for him.
He can if he wants. He'll draw almost as many from Obama as from the Republican candidate. (Assuming he can survive the attacks regarding antisemitism.) Such is the life of a libertarian.
One of the most glaring reason why he skipped out on Florida.
No open primary = No Democrats can vote for him.
Without them he would be at 3%.

It means that the public LOVES grandstanding, esp. when the attack comes at the expense of the LSM and the Punk. I thought that Santorum cleaned Newt’s and Milt’s clock in the debate, based on substance. But we live in a Jerry Springer age. The sharper the insults, the more the audience loves it.
A while back it hit me he was the only one that was ever so gently referring back to Reagan's City on the Hill, i.e American Exceptionalism.
I didn't sense it at all from the others.
I mentioned it to some of my conservative friends, they agreed.
What does it mean? if I saw it others must sense it, It means they haven't given up on America and want their country back...
