The people involved with subverting the US Supreme Court’s decision in the matter of handguns for DC residents and implementing punitive draconian additive requirements should ALL be summarily indicted and imprisoned in ASS BANGING JAIL for a period not to exceed the time it takes to go from a “tweet fart” to a “flatulant hippo expulsion”.....So say we all....
Happens more and more these days.
1st, I had to go to a gun shop and purchase a gun that I was not even allowed to touch. All I got was a purchase receipt to attach to my permit application.
2nd, Fill out an application, plus have 4 character questionnaires filled out by people that have known me at least 4 years, and live in the same county. These had to be notarized, and asked some pretty intrusive questions of my references, such as THEIR social security number, address and phone where THEY work...
3rd, wait about 5 weeks for an appointment to hand in the application, and be finger printed.
4th, Wait 6 months and 9 days for my application to be approved.
5th, Get my permit and voucher and return to the gun shop to finally get the gun that I bought 8 months ago.
Even now, it takes about a month to add a gun to my permit.
Unbelievable! I like the comment one of the posters made at the source link: What if citizens had to go through as much red tape to exercise their 1st Amendment rights as they do their 2nd?
I'm not sure; however, I suspect that won't be pretty. I keep hoping that the ballot box will prevail ... eventually. I think the base problem is that Americans aren't who they used to be. The government indoctrination centers called "schools" have changed the topography of politics in terrible ways.
Unbelievable is right... And NYC has it even worse. At least I can carry mine (just not in the city).
Unfortunately, history shows that no one does anything meaningful to right these wrongs until it is FAR too late.
That's what my brother has! I like that gun a lot. We traded off at the cinder pit one day and each shot the other's gun; he liked my 1911! We left it at that and didn't trade; but for accuracy and reliability, that Ruger of yours is a dandy!

In contrast, in Texas for the same gun- Go to a gun show, browse around for a while. Find what you want. Fill out a little paperwork and the dealer calls in for a quick background check. Give the dealer some money. Walk out with your gun.
Frankly, I have issues using reloads with pretty much everything but a Walther, CZ, or Springfield. I think tolerances are getting so tight these days, if something is even slightly off, there could be a jam.

I carry the XD 9mm 3" subcompact with a 10 round mag and two 10 round back-up mags. If I can't put down an assailant with 31 rounds, then I don't need a 5 lb. club; rather, I need more time at the range.
No problem...everybody has their favorite(s)
I just like the 1911, fits my hand better. Also, I am currently located in a more suburban than rural environment, so for home D, I want my rounds to be higher mass but slower muzzle velocity. Just consideration for my neighbors... :)
I’ve got an XD-9 with the 4” police service barrel, 16-round magazines and fitted with a Crimson Trace laser sight. Best 9mm I’ve ever owned - it feeds JHP’s flawlessly; it’s also well-balanced for a composite frame pistol and is easy to maintain. I find the trigger safety to be superfluous, but you get used to it. Still love my 1911’s though.
