No, I didn't make that headline up. Issa has flown off to Davos to hobnob with the international elites this weekend. That, at least, is what I'm being told. This is a marvelous turn of events for the New World Order conspiracists. Shortwave millennialists will be going nuts. Much is being made today in various places of Issa's latest letters to Holder here and here.

Here is David Codrea's take, which lays out succinctly the public facts as known.

Last night, I was floated some rumors that Morrissey and Hurley, Cunningham's fellow myrmidons working under Dennis Burke on the Fast and Furious clandestine operation, were also going to plead the Fifth along with Cunningham. This was obviously far too optimistic, and perhaps I was meant to jump at it, but I waited for confirmation. A good thing. I announced rightly that the committee was going to have an announcement this morning. But I didn't expect how truly wimpy it would be. Morrissey has until 5 o'clock Eastern today to respond to the committee. No one expects him to come forward, even though he is a Bush appointee. And why should he? Where are the threats of contempt of congress? Where is the plain talk of doing unto Holder as he has been doing unto them?

Full title: I can understand why he wants to get out of town. Darrell Issa flies off to Davos to hobnob with the global elite, leaving us to wonder just what the hell he has in mind for Eric Holder.

Ruh roh... Off to Davos to do what? Make a deal? Can we make a prediction?... Yes: Somehow, this is now going to all go away. Like magic. Poof- no more investigations.

If there’s anyone I’d like more nosing around in Davos, who would it be? Is he supposed to keep his distance from the crooked financiers out of ritual purity?

Why not give Darrell Issa the benefit of the doubt--certainly, at least for now. Everyone at Davos is not trying to promote the treason of world government. There is also legitimate interest in world business conditions, which will certainly effect our interests at home.

You will not find many people who have fought the idea of World Government longer than I have. My oldest son was named after the Senator, who delivered this attack on the concept of the League Of Nations. I have attacked the tactics & underlying premises of those who seek World Government, all of my adult life. (Note the comments on the Norman Cousins' efforts in Myths & Myth Makers. I fought these people in High School & College, decades ago.)

But it does not counter the efforts of internationalists to subjugate America to a new international order, to assume that any effort to discuss legitimate common interests is part of an elitist plot against us. I believe that Rep. Issa is sincerely interested in exposing Holder. Give him the benefit of the doubt until some other intent becomes clear.

Listening to that interview I don’t get the impression that Cong. Issa has any intention of letting this go or is under any allusions that responsibility lies with some underling of Holder’s. I get the feeling that he is holding some cards close to his vest. I wouldn’t play poker with him.

Of course I wanting him ‘nosing around in Davos’. Especially after Cunningham pleaded the fifth. It’s a great idea, run the committee, hit a brick wall- and then fly off to Switzerland to make nice with ... whom?

Sorry, the timing stinks. But- maybe you are right. Maybe he has an ace up his sleeve. Hocus pocus, things are all better now. I love happy endings.

Well said. Let’s not forget that Issa is investigating Solyndra and other 0bieWon scandals too so “hobnobbing” with financier types may have other interests for him.

Mr. Flax, I am with you. Issa has done a good job giving the issue legs. Without Issa, how many people would know we have an AG running guns to international criminals?

Supposition and innuendo.

All that is known for sure is Issa went to Davos.

And this guy doesn’t have a clue why..

I have yet to see anything about Issa that would make me think he would enjoy any contact with the Soros types. Davos is committed to pushing tax increases on the US.

How I'd love Issa to investigate Berkshire Hathaway...

I just hope that Issa has plenty of bodyguards.

He may have been lured there for an assassination attempt.

The topic of discussion at Davos is what should the elitists install after Western capitalism since “the model” has failed.

They are on the move and getting ready to go for when they collapse the EU and US. No more money to shake down out of the US Treasury and American middle class until they can crash the market and then take what remains of the retirement accounts.

The Rinos and the Dems are all singing from the same page which explains their desparation in getting Newt and the Tea Party out of the picture. Better that Patriots be handled by the military in the streets than in power.

It is telling that the Rinos are also on board with overturning the constitution in every way possible and turning the other cheek as our unconstitutional President unconstitutionally centralizes his power, bypassing the legal power of the Courts, Congress and States.

Newt might go along and do as he’s told...but they don’t like the risk and they don’t want the total takedown of the Republic to be any messier than need be among the “ruling” elitists.

Oh, I beleive business week. ;)

I have no doubt that most of the globalist billionaires (the 1%) in Davos have no intention of surrendering their wealth and power with the Marxist 99% model. They intend to “rule.”

Global fascism (aka croney capitalism) is what they would prefer over Global Marxism (99% desire). Do you think any of these idiots (the 99ers or the Davos billionaires) are talking about re-establishing American business ethics, freedom and idependence? No, they are not. They are talking about what to formally establish next - after the EU and US crash. Fascism or Marxism.
