During last night's State of Utter Confusion Address, Our Dear Leader, Barack Hussein Obama had this to say:
************************************
"But in return, we need to change our tax code so that people like me, and an awful lot of Members of Congress, pay our fair share of taxes. Tax reform should follow the Buffett rule: If you make more than $1 million a year, you should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes. And my Republican friend Tom Coburn is right: Washington should stop subsidizing millionaires. In fact, if you're earning a million dollars a year, you shouldn't get special tax subsidies or deductions. On the other hand, if you make under $250,000 a year, like 98 percent of American families, your taxes shouldn't go up. You're the ones struggling with rising costs and stagnant wages. You're the ones who need relief.
Now, you can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? Most Americans would call that common sense.
We don't begrudge financial success in this country. We admire it. When Americans talk about folks like me paying my fair share of taxes, it's not because they envy the rich. It's because they understand that when I get tax breaks I don't need and the country can't afford, it either adds to the deficit, or somebody else has to make up the difference - like a senior on a fixed income; or a student trying to get through school; or a family trying to make ends meet. That's not right. Americans know it's not right. "

You know what, Barry ? You're right for a change. We should have a talk (or in your lingo, a "national dialogue") about fairness. Ready ? Well, that's too bad. You work for me, whether you believe it or not.
Is it fair that 47% of Americans pay nothing in federal taxes while the other 53% do ? Is it fair that Americans are forced to pay into the insolvent Socialist Security and Mediscare Ponzi schemes against their will ? Is it fair when taxpayers are forced to fund the retirements of bureaucrats ? Is it fair that neurosurgeons pay taxes while drug addicts who can barely cut it as part time fry cooks at McDonalds do not ? Was it fair, with millions out of work, that our "President" had a Halloween party decorated by Tim Burton ? Was it fair that while the Gulf Coast was drowning in oil, Nero Obama decided to have a sing along with Paul McCartney ? Was it fair that our Fearless Leader found time to play 90 rounds of golf while Americans were fighting and dying in Afghanistan ?
Tell us, Chairman Obama what's fair about any of this ? We the People would really, really like to know.
Ping!
Yeah. Let’s talk “fair”. We do all of the rest of us get our free food stamps?!
:)
When the President emphasized the theme of fairness and shared responsibility, he offered traditional enchanting words describing the socialist dream. As usual for socialists, Obama failed to mention achievement requires the intrusiveness of an all encompassing bureaucracy under his mantle of authority.
However, the American Dream does not mean government will manage personal lives by pretending to ensure home values, college funds, savings, affordable healthcare, homeownership, and lifetime employment or unemployment pay. Our Declaration of Independence does not contemplate a political class surreptitiously currying favor by benefiting the wealth and executive pay found within cartels as exampled by Archer Daniels Midland, General Motors, and Goldman Sachs.
Instead the American Dream has always meant individual, and not collective, pursuit of happiness for spiritual prosperity within the hazards and uncertainties of personal freedoms. But as a consequence of fostering individual initiative, this country has achieved an unsurpassed material prosperity. According to the World Bank our poverty level reported by HHS at $10,890, exceeds the per capita GDP of people living in 70% of the countries of the world.
Americans should not exchange personal freedom for mediocre materialism dependent on adherence to government rules.

Bravo!
+1 !!
No argument here.
I think the current system stinks. I’m all for a flat tax, the Fair Tax, 999, or any other plan. I’m also for getting the rid of 16th Amendment.
Great post!
You want to talk about fairness?
Just look at what Drudge has done in the last 48 hours.
Fairness, my butt.
I’m sorry. Your post is wonderful, but I’m in a very sour mood right now.
“Fair” and “Fairness” are just communist buzzwords.
They once had meaning, but that has been perverted by the socialists, Marxists and communists prolific in the United States today.
"But in return, we need to change our tax code so that people like me, and an awful lot of Members of Congress, pay our fair share of taxes..."
"But of course, what is needed and what I will actually DO about it are two different things because I'm a stinking liar and you can't believe a word I say." [S-E grin]
"Tax reform should follow the Buffett rule: If you make more than $1 million a year, you should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes."
"Ha ha ha ha! Yeah, 'should follow' and 'will follow' are also incompatible, if you catch my drift."
"And my Republican friend Tom Coburn is right: Washington should stop subsidizing millionaires."
"Yeah, I can always get some stupid RINO to suck up my nonsense and spout it back at me. We really should stop subsidizing ourselves, but we ain't gonna!"
"In fact, if you're earning a million dollars a year, you shouldn't get special tax subsidies or deductions."
"Again, we ain't gonna shoot ourselves in our financial feet just to please you peons."
"On the other hand, if you make under $250,000 a year, like 98 percent of American families, your taxes shouldn't go up. You're the ones struggling with rising costs and stagnant wages. You're the ones who need relief."
"Yes, and we're going to get as many of you 'on relief' as we possibly can so that you can vote yourselves other people's money!!"
"Now, you can call this class warfare all you want."
"Because it is, ha ha ha ha!"
"But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? Most Americans would call that common sense."
"But it's still class warfare, and I'm gonna win it, even if I have to lie about some secretary who makes $300,000 a year paying more actual dollars in taxes than her billionaire boss who pays millions."
"We don't begrudge financial success in this country. We admire it."
"No, actually we begrudge it, and we want to take it all away from them and give it to our buddies like Solyndra and Ener1 (who got $118 million OF YOUR MONEY to give to their cronies before going bankrupt). Don't you fools realize that we have a sweet, illegal deal going here that involves taking what you have and giving it to the undeserving? No, you don't, ha ha ha ha ha!"
"When Americans talk about folks like me paying my fair share of taxes, it's not because they envy the rich."
And I'm going to change that as fast as I can. Americans need to eat the rich so America and be more like my home country, Kenya."
"It's because they understand that when I get tax breaks I don't need and the country can't afford, it either adds to the deficit, or somebody else has to make up the difference - like a senior on a fixed income; or a student trying to get through school; or a family trying to make ends meet."
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! As if! some old fart or some dumbed-down (thanks to me!) student who couldn't find a booger in his own nose would be able to 'make up the difference' - sorry, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying."
And to sum up everything I've said so far, "That's not right. Americans know it's not right."
People forget that a lot of these tax “breaks” encourage investment in ventures that create jobs or help to exploit resources that the general economy needs. Oil and gas wells have long been an example. Does the average Joe realize how difficult it is to find and bring to market these resources and how many jobs are created in the process? Then there is the multiplier effect by simply having this resource available and the creation of many more jobs. And what happens when the well ends up a dry hole? Sure, some of the breaks are unwarranted, but others need to be maintained.
Sorry for the late responses, folks. Stuck at work.....Considering the fact that my neighbor hasn’t worked since Chairman Obama was made Fuhrer of the Reich, I feel fortunate to have a job to be stuck at.
Et tu, Drudge ?
No, you’re right. Another slimy move by the Mittiots.
Thanks for the kind words!
“’Fair’ and ‘Fairness’ are just communist buzzwords.”
You got that right, FRiend!
“Yeah, I can always get some stupid RINO to suck up my nonsense and spout it back at me.”
Let’s name names, shall we ?
Olympia Snowejob
Susan Vodka Collins
John McLame
Eric Can’tor
The Weeper of the House, John Boehner
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConman
The list goes on and on......
However, there is a ray of hope. In November, there will be a NEWT sheriff in town.....
Go Newt !!
On the money!!
+1 !!
Of course, Barry isn’t going to let silly things like facts get in the way of some good, old fashioned Progressivevik populism......
November can’t come fast enough. It really can’t.
