Skip to comments.Which should we fear more, a third party or an Only party?

Im pretty sure were watching the progressive end-game unfold after its 100-year incremental march. Like Mexicos institutional revolution we have instituted and indoctrinated our own offspring to lead us exactly to this point: One Party Government.
It may turn out differently, but Ive seen the tipping point with Mitt Romneys vicious and specious attacks on Newt being repeated by all the media/government players. No, theyre not just the usual suspects of the MSM any more. Now our new media allies have fought their way to some imagined significance and so they kowtow to the powerful. We are all Capt. Schettino now, I guess, and its every man for himself. Dont judge me, man! Its market driven media. Capitalism!
Its different than when Ross Perot ran for president and handed the brass ring to Clinton on a silver platter. We all bemoaned the Third Party split that gave the election to a man without a clear majority. But I think now we have a de facto Only Party. It is comprised of those who will not allow money out of their circle of influence. The wet dream of the Progressives has been to set the have-nots against the haves under the guise of fairness. The dirty secret behind that dream is that the Proggies are panting for the opportunity to be the haves. And for you to be the have-not.
The RNC has told all of us we cannot have Newt (or Cain. Or Palin. Or West.) We have told the RNC they cannot have Mitt. The impasse has drawn a stark contrast that even a blind man can discern. Its not about being Republican. Its not about hanging together or separately. Really, when youre already screwed whats a few feet of rope and a short drop? Thats the mood out there, folks.
Commenter raven at Legal Insurrection eloquently speaks for me at this juncture:
This is no longer about quarrels between candidates or wounds being inflicted or healing over time, its about existential differences of political and national identity, and about generations of GOP betrayals which have brought us to this point and which will no longer be denied, ignored, forgotten or forgiven. Critical mass has arrived.
Romney is just a representation (if not him, someone else like him) of power and a presumption to power whose purpose is only in the gaining and keeping of power. This power has allowed our collective ship to drift outside the currents of the Constitution, and it clutches the rudder with a death grip.
I dont know what will happen in Florida, but what Romney has done in the past few months (truly the only inevitable thing about Romney was that he would do this) has set in motion something historic. Nothing will be the same. The GOP chose Romney and hes their destiny.
Theres a simmering idea that were all quite happy to leave the GOP with their choice and commit our own last act as a free people by voting our conscience. To Hell with the scare-mongerers who used our worst fears against us, to bring us to heel at the jackboot of the elites.
With Hussein on one side and Hussein-lite on the other, we only have one party.
We’ve got two parties. One is socialist heavy. The other is socialist light.
We need a Conservative Party.
I lived in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Maryland (DPRM) for many years, it is essentially a one party state. The left wing politics gets ugly. Very ugly.
I keep posting this message: Both parties are driving us toward socialism its just that one party is driving a little faster than the other. If obama is reelected the fault lands squarely at the feet of the GOP for not supporting a true conservative. I will not vote for a RINO and if obama is reelected because of a third party then Im ready to rip off the band-aid and have this revolution. I can fight for my childrens freedoms. If I help elect a RINO then my children will have to fight for their own freedoms. Id rather do that for them.
Yes, yes. I get that. But where did our running scared from the “horrors” of a Third Party and voting for McCain get us?
THAT’s what I’m looking to see. I don’t think we’re alone in that sentiment.
This is PROOF of one party rule.
Both sides working for one side, makes things one sided, doesn't it?
TIME FOR TEA
Congratulations on your escape from the democratic asylum on the Chesapeake Bay. I too resided in Maryland for 21 years before returning to my native soil of Georgia. Loved the 4 seasons and the good people there...but the politics of state government is rotten to the core.
Maryland has an open season on the tax payer that lasts all year.
Very good article! Not sure that there is a way out for anyone under 30 or so. Politics has indeed become a game between like minded individuals and parties. It makes little difference who you vote for. Your crook or mine...
Is this the end of the Republican form of government? Seems so unless there is something of a revolution among the young. You would think that they would be the initial group to revolt since they are going to be responsible for all the debt incurred from the last generation or two.
Depends on the third party. Problem is, most of the current alternatives make you feel like you were seated next to someone on a transcontinental flight who told you they sell Amway products.
This is why I would prefer a monarchy, or the chaos of multiple political parties that come, grow, die and and go, as they have in other countries. The British model of two political parties that we’ve got here is so antiquated, and once the two parties get established they just divide the spoils and defend their one and a half party territory as they are now doing with Mittens and the threat to their rule by Newt.
Take it from a Ron Paul fan.
Emphasis on the stab. . . as in, the back.
How the hell did we get McCain? Our dear Karl "Turd Blossum" Rove and our friends in the eneMedia crammed him down our throat. As for the Republican Party...it's time to dust off and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Actually, that is quite good!
What do you think of Rulicrats?
Meh. It’s Jim’s money, after all. But I am not endorsing a Third Party or any candidate at this point. I’m merely pointing out a mood that is sweeping through the ranks, that if the Establicans set themselves to oppose the will of the rank and file, well, they may be able to kill us, but they can’t eat us.
How about UnRulicans?
Now we’re in danger of slipping into a humor thread.
Again, a perspective I share.
Oh, I missed that earlier! Very good.
"The Powers that Be here at FR" have made it clear that they will never support Mitt Romney. Dear Oberon, you are in grave danger of having a pineapple shoved up your bottom.
I am aware that Newt Gingrich has received Jim's endorsement, and have no argument with that. If anything, my posts in this thread support Mr. Robinson's perspective rather than oppose it.
Any violence perpetrated with fruits on this thread MUST limit itself to rotten tomatoes from 20 paces.
Now, don't make me stop this thread and come back there!!!
JimRob clearly stated that he will never support Mitt. Do you have any problem comprehending that?
No, none at all.
Hope I haven't upset anyone... all this talk of pineapples makes me nervous.
Why live in fear?
Simply lay down the rules to the GOP.
If it’s Romney, it’s third party.
There are consequences for choices.
Tell the old school. They adapt or get wiped out. Newt Gingrich will get 58 delegates out of TN. By comparison, FL has 50 this year. Keep the pressure on.
No fear. That was a rhetorical device in the headline. :o)
They really can’t “McCain” us again. We fell for that lame “Third Party! Ack!” excuse for the last time in 2008.
Hold the line.
See my tagline.
What really pisses me off is the elite GOP establishment is telling us conservatives the same thing obama is telling us. GO TO HELL! WE DON’T NEED YOUY!
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
It is obvious they took over the Democrat Party many years ago and have also infiltrated the Republican Party. I think their main operatives are political consultants using polls conducted by their media accomplices. Those polls encourage the consultants and the party to move to the left to attract the moderates. That way, no matter who wins the society is moved further to the left.
It is very difficult to start a third party and have it certified in all states. Therefore, it is easier for us to continue to try to take over the Republican Party. Even if we were to be able to start a third party the Marxists would immediately start infiltrating it.
The best course of action is to learn the enemy. Do research on The Frankfurt School, Communists Goals, and Saul Alinsky. Know that the media, the Democrat Party and the labor unions, including public employee unions, have all already been taken over. Until now, they have been of the Fabian School of Communism. That means their strategy was to progress slowly through stealth and deception. The IRS, EPA, SS, Welfare, Medicare, the Dept. of Energy, Commerce, Agriculture and others are all part of that. Political correctness is a tactic to silence opposition. Don't allow it.
Vote for the best Republican you can find who will not continue the charade.
No different than an old flame. Cut it off and watch the action. They will be all over you.
Sorry, nobody outside of Italy calls himself a ‘Communist’ any more. Marxists are on faculties of universities and clearly identify themselves as such. The poison has gotten in the water supply. Communism has metamorphosed into ‘goodness’, ‘saintliness’ and political correctness to do good, for the society, for the planet. You’re way behind the curve trying to fight ‘Communism’. It’s a phantom any more. Obama is way ahead of you. Are you for “social injustice”? Are you against clean air? Are you for “racism”? Are you against choice? Are you against goodness, for goodness sake? As I said, the poison is in the water and we’re losing the war.
All of the above said, there is no question in my mind that Obama is a Communist, or post-Communist, who doesn’t consider himself a Communist, and for all practical reasons is more of a true believer Communist than Putin ever was, or even Gorbachev or General Jaruzelski now. So, what are we going to do?
Left, right, doesn’t matter anymore. They’re just two sides of the same coin, both being totally corrupted by power. The majority of Americans live sandwiched between the extremes of the left and the right, and have no real representation in government as a consequence.
Right on —we need a true second party—a Conservative one.
It should come out of the Tea Party—Our symbol The Bear, or the Rattle snake (Don’t Tread on Me!)
Platform: Simple Smaller Government, Lower Taxes, No more PC, no more Greenie hippies, Drill for our own oil, Dig our own Coal, Tariffs on foreign built cars—no to Unions and their corruptions and thugs. No to Roe Vs Wade. Close the border if it means each American has to go down their and for free for two weeks a year build a wall to rival China’s Great wall—and man it with soldiers too. The border with Mexico should be air tight.
If I recall the Whiskey Rebellion had its own flag? Maybe someone should post it—that rebellion is nothing short of what this talk has become-—Once we rebelled over the tax on tea? If the founders could hear us now they would draw their swords and tell us to form our troops. We need a new—bolder Tea Party—and the Sons of Liberty too.
I think I love everything you said. Seriously.
Thanks for the 2nd comment. I am an old guy who has been familiar with Communism since WWII. They lie about who they are just as they lie about everything else. Marxists, progressives, liberals, whatever, they are still Communists. The other names are intended to soften them and give them some sort of credibility.
I mentioned the Fabians because they practiced stealth and deception and implemented their programs over a long period. Now, with this Obama regime, they are just trying to ram everything through as fast as they can while they are in power. No more slo-go but they still take umbrage at being called even socialists.
They won’t give up power easily. I expect to see uprisings and social upheaval which will give Obama the excuse to declare martial law and cancel the elections. Occupy Whatever is part of that.
What young? We killed off millions of them. The ones pouring in from around the world are products of a century of Marxism or worse, products of a barbaric religio-political system.
If we do have a revolution it will be with a sad heart that we are the ones to blame for the challenge we now face. Eternal vigilance is a lovely motto, but a hard life. I'm afraid we sat back and gave our children over to hirelings while we pursued "meaning" or some other lamentable cheat.
It's a cold comfort at this moment. But I wonder if we'll be let off the hook so easily. And especially we women. While the men of our generation fought and died, or worked and died, we stayed home to be courted by the Left through silly movies, magazines and other media. We gave away much of our high calling as women and mothers and teachers of our young, to run after some vain attempt at "equality."
Within a few short years we flooded the employment market and reduced the value of our men's work until now; when we must all work just to live, all demand public education just to have the basics, and all demand that "somebody should do something" when our life's ill choices have brought us into the narrows of few choices.
I hope that there is a small portion of eternal redemption for having seen the error of our ways.
Heh. But not if they have all the power. And the Establicans' are making it pretty clear in bold caps that they don't need us. That belies a corruption so large and advanced that I fear for my vote. Our blood-bought suffrage is being undermined daily by corruption and cash. It's obviously no big deal when our MSM learns of ballot box stuffing or intimidation, it's just another historical note in the decline of our freedom.
They apparently have enough money to buy what they need.
Fear a third party? After the vicious scorched earth tatcics unleashed by the establishment against anything conservative, I WANT a third party. A conservative party.
