I have decided, finally, I am going to vote for Ron Paul.
Scroll down to see why
Yes, I am giving in, I surrender to the Ronulans!
Geez, I know FR is going full Newt ahead and that’s fine. But to consistently lie about RP is beneath us. He wants that power returned to the states. Hopefully, it will be decriminalized, not acceptable. If not, your state can give the death penalty for it, if it wants.
I dislike campaigns because of the, “My candidate is the best and anyone who chooses anyone else is a moron!” mentality. I’m just hoping we don’t get a globalist.
The only people who are lying are the RONULANS who keep saying, that no matter how many times Paul said these thigns, he never said them and it’s not his political stance
Ron Paul: Last of the Dixie Cons??

The Campaign for Liberty, a RON PAUL organization, was selling copies of the most anti-semitic publication in history, the PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION.
This book was used to justify murdering Jews around the world, and is still cited in Islamic extremist justifications for killing Jews.

An organization called Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth video taped an inpromtu appearance with Ron Paul and recorded some of his comments. They can be found here:
http://michellemalkin.com/2007/05/19/trutheriness-and-ron-paul/
While Ron Paul has said on TV shows such as Glen Beck that he dismisses the major theories, he openly says there is a coverup of what went on yet refuses to elaborate on just what is covered up. The 9/11 Comission clearly showed that intelligence failures happened because of Clinton era laws that prevented our inteligence agancies from communicating with each other.
On the website CONSPIRACY PLANET, information about Ron Paul and issues similar to this can be found:

Ron Paul has publically said that the CIA has accomplished a coup against America and needs to be taken out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dECSYm5bSM
A direct quote from this conference is as such:
(January 20, 2010) House Rep. Ron Paul says the CIA has in effect carried out a “coup” against the US government, and the intelligence agency needs to be “taken out.”
Speaking to an audience of like-minded libertarians at a Campaign for Liberty regional conference in Atlanta this past weekend, the Texas Republican said: “There’s been a coup, have you heard? It’s the CIA coup. The CIA runs everything, they run the military. They’re the ones who are over there lobbing missiles and bombs on countries...”
Additional video proof of him saying this here:

And here is one prominant website that supports the 9/11 conspiracy theories, calling for a RON PAUL PROVISIONAL ARMY to take over after we investigate the 9/11 events:

Among the other kooky connections to Ron Paul, is a UFO COnnection. I have yet to find the original article, but numerous articles repeat the belief of Ron Paul’s that UFO’s are real. Some of the Ron Paul sites have soeone trying to mock this belief, but the Ron Paul site, DailyPaul.com says this:
http://dailypaul.com/node/125999
This has been repeated again in San Francisco, not known to support conservatives or Libertarians anyways, but associated with Ron Paul out there were UFO enthusiasts mentioned in this article:

How is it that the kookiest ideas are surrounding Ron Paul? Ron Paul, UFO disclosure, etc... simply nothing more than a pacifier — a distraction!

As homosexual Army soldier Bradley Mannings treason trial continues at Fort Meade, Maryland, the support he has received from Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been curiously ignored by the major media, now touting Paul as someone who could win the January 3 Iowa Republican Caucuses. Paul has called Manning, a crossdresser with acknowledged mental problems, a hero and patriot for stealing government secrets and providing them to WikiLeaks.
http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/2011/12/21/kincaid-ron-paul-says-accused-traitor-is-a-patriot/
While campaigning in Iowa on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul praised the Occupy Wall Street movement, comparing it to the Tea Party movement. “In many ways, I identify with both groups,” Paul said. Both groups are fed up with problems in Washington and “the two-party-system,” Paul said while speaking at an insurance company in Des Moines. Praising the left-wing Occupy Wall Street movement is an unusual move for a Republican presidential candidate, but Ron Paul is, of course, an unusual Republican presidential candidate. He jumped to first place in the Iowa caucus polls partly because of support from people who aren’t Republicans. His comments that members of the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street are unhappy with the “two-party system” could fuel speculation that Paul will make a third-party bid of his own—something he has not ruled out.

IBTZ???
you always comment before you actually READ what is posted?
There you go! Doesn’t it feel better to use a list of facts rather than a sensational smear? That’s much more convincing to persuade people to vote for your pick. ^^
Have fun w obama everyone. We earned it by trashing Ron Paul and his followers.
Nicely done!
Legalize heroin and the heroin addiction problem will solve itself pretty quickly along with the democrat problem to a lesser extent.
Trashing Paul with his own words? The nerve of some people.
It's a tough primary, if you can't stand the scrutiny, then maybe you picked the wrong candidate?
Like I said, have fun with Obama. We deserve him.

: )
in many states, the young Paulistas are the only competition for ROMNEY in his fight to accumulate delegates.
ROMNEY is the enemy. Especially since the Reagan right refuses to organize themselves by doing any real politics. I would estimate that there are 100 very active Paulistas in Maine working on the caucuses. And there are ZERO Newt-Santorum folks. It is such a thrill to be part of a campaign that doesn’t exist.
If anyone has a phone number of the Maine Santorum coordinator, post it here. His office says they don’t got one.
I hope that this is just a East Coast problem. If the paulistas dominate the Idaho, Kansas & Missouri caucuses next month, we’all will have what excuses?
Why are you singling out Paul followers for not supporting the eventual GOP nominee? Most Newt supporters, including the owner of this site, have repeatedly said they will never vote for Romney if he’s the nominee.
Common decency prevents me from making any truthful comments on your decision to vote for Paul............
After a sleepless night I am getting ready for a long drive to attend a family funeral. My eyeballs are shot. So I may skip this post for the time being.
and if Perot didnt run we would a won with about 55%
The way Ron Paul is treated by those who worshipped rove and Bush is beyond disgusting.
He has been 1000% correct on many matters over the years, and people still trash him.
Oh yeah, all these same people who trash Paul and want to convince us that the others in this race are “real” conservatives? Please.
If I lived in Va. I’d vote for Paul. Say no to Mitt.
What in the world makes you think that Paul could beat Obama in the general election?
Oops, sorry, last comment was meant for Glock The Vote.
Paul is not a conservative, he is a libertarian, a very different critter altogether. He doesn’t even belong in the GOP; they have a party of their own.
Ron Paul would peel off a lot of demos and independents and get a MASSIVE turnout by young people.
Gingrich and Romney cant and wont.
And if we “win” w Romney - what do we gain. if anything?
So? Gingrich and Romney are barely “conservative” themselves and both have huge problems.
I prefer Newt over romney of course, but RP is a lot closer to me on money and economics than the others.
Remember when Newt killed Ryan’s medicare plan, endorsed scozzafa, not so long ago?
And Romney? Geeeze, what a disaster.
I think the idea is we want the Paul people to come out and vote for our guy and not stay home, sulk and get stoned (or go third party).
The Paul people, btw, that I know personally are not stoners. They include a former Marine, a successful investment counselor and a small-businessman plumber.
Sarah Palin has been saying very nice things about Paul. Sarah is smart.
Paul is not going to be the nominee.
OTOH, if this thing does go to convention, Paul will have his delegates to dispense.
I guess you miss the irony. Remember when Paul voted against Ryan's medicare plan and endorsed Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader not long ago?
None of these people are perfect an RP says and does some things I wince at, but over all, issue by issue - he is closest to where I am.
Has Newt even proposed cutting spending?
Newt is the only one who has a track record of actually doing it. Remember, he forced Clinton's hand through a government shut down and actually gave us our only balanced budget in the past century. An actual record of doing something is better than someone who talks a lot but has zero record of accomplishments...and yes, he has called for a similar plan as he had in the 90s to cut spending down to a balanced budget.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/07/newt-gingrich-estimates-budget-could-be-balanced-in-5-years/
In most jobs, you hire the person with a record of success, not the person who just 'believes' things. Anyone can believe and talk, few can do. (unless you are hiring a Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces solely to make square dancing a folk are- one of Paul's only legislative accomplishments in his decades in office).
I agree. I like Newt and am beyond words how upset I am at what has been done to him.
I think that Newt sees the bigger picture. Newt being a historian, sees a chance to man up to the position and become one of the all time great presidents. He knows that like Reagan, he would be remembered for his accomplishments rather than his checkered past, which, I think, is what appeals to him about the presisdency. His own place in history.
I can live with paul, santorum, or Newt.
Romney is a piece of trash and is the white Obama. There is not once inche between them.
Even after the Obama slime machine goes to work? Most of what RaceBannon called out in post no. 4, and plenty more, will splashed across every tv screen in the country if Paul is the nominee. In spite of those issues on which Paul is 100% right, there is so much that he's said (or tacitly endorsed) that is repulsive to Americans, I just don't see the massive shift happening that you envision.
Agree with that, 100%.
Bitter, much?

This election cycle?
Definately. After everything we did in 2010, has it really come to the point where its Obama and Myth?
The game is rigged and we are screwed royally if its myth or obama.
Ron Paul is far from perfect - but understand - even if he were elected - he would never get everything he wanted.
so if he got 50% of what he wanted - it would be drastically better than anything we can hope from myth or thugbama.
As for Newt - I like him, prefer him over Romney and Santorum and would easily campaign for newt or Santorum.
And? He is not advocating drug use. He is being consistent saying that what is the difference when we have booze legal that helps harm many many many people.
Why bring booze into the argument? Do you use alcohol?
If marijuana and meth were legal, would you use them too?
If Paul is not advocating drug use, then why call for legalization?
Are you kidding? Seriously - do you not see how intellectually dishonest you are?
He'd have the youth vote, most all the people who are marked as fringe elements of either party, libertarians, and anyone who was serious about deposing Obama.
Would you not vote for Paul if he got the nomination? Stay home and sit down for Obama? Or would you vote against DuhWon and let the Congress do its job of proposing legislation for a signature or veto (while a half dozen executive branch departments closed their doors)?
If it really is ABO (anyone but obama), he could win.
Lying about other candidates and their supporters, and driving them away from the GOP, is not a recipe for success.
Well, let's go down the list.
The war on drugs has been the excuse for: Militarization of police forces,
gun control measures
turf wars
Little old ladies getting shot when their doors were kicked in 'by accident' at 4 AM,
Checkpoints everywhere,
Drives corruption with huge dollar amounts, everywhere from the Southern Border to small towns,
provides the profit motive for the Cartels in Mexico
and has been the source of erosion of the 4th, 5th, and 14th amendments in the past few decades.
Declare it over, and all you have is the druggies to deal with, the rest stops.
Billions in underground economy come out into the open, as do the effects of using the drugs which are currently banned.
I don't use them, I hate what they have done to individuals and our society, but I hate the spinoff effects of an ineffectual 'war' on them even more because those have robbed all of us of our Liberty and Rights, not just the dumbasses using the drugs.
The legalization of drugs is not the worst of Ron Paul’s positions, but the fact that the legalization of drugs seems to be the most important to many of his supporters is what makes Ron Paul dangerous.
It’s a matter of priorities and interpretation.
I guess that is why 75% of all military donations got to
Paul because they want to be Junkies??? I bet you think Prohibition was great too? I noticed when Paul brought this up in a debate not too long ago the other candidates were silent about this point.
By the way Paul served in the military. Did Newt or Mitt?
Now you must think the Founding Fathers were all about Big Centralized Government and waging wars around the world for preemptive means? There is NOTHING conservative about that position.
Just looking at all your links (and not clicking them) tells any casual observer that you fear Ron Paul. On one hand you say he is a joke, and on the other hand you spend all your time researching him. OBVIOUSLY he is not that much of a joke or you would not have spent that much time trying to smear him.
