The London Daily Mail ^ | August 8, 2011 | Liz Thomas

Jackie Onassis believed that Lyndon B Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons were involved in the assassination of her husband John F Kennedy, ‘explosive’ recordings are set to reveal. The secret tapes will show that the former first lady felt that her husband’s successor was at the heart of the plot to murder him.

She became convinced that the then vice president, along with businessmen in the South, had orchestrated the Dallas shooting, with gunman Lee Harvey Oswald – long claimed to have been a lone assassin – merely part of a much larger conspiracy.

Texas-born Mr Johnson, who served as the state’s governor and senator, completed Mr Kennedy’s term and went on to be elected president in his own right. The tapes were recorded with leading historian Arthur Schlesinger Jnr within months of the assassination on November 22, 1963, and had been sealed in a vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston.

The then Mrs Kennedy, who went on to marry Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, had ordered that they should not be released until 50 years after her death, with some reports suggesting she feared that her revelations might make her family targets for revenge...

I don’t understand this media obsession with the dysfunctional Kennedys, especially the ones who are long gone.

especially the ones who are long gone.

I guess those were the good ones. It was even more downhill from there.

I still believe Fidel Castro ordered the “hit”.

LBJ did have JFK killed. Watch the final chapter of ‘the men who killed kennedy’.

Well, certainly the old media would bring this out to the attention of all Americans. I mean, covering up for JFK, LBJ and the Democrat party would make them accessories, enablers, traitors and cowards. Someday, little kids are going to ask their parents about family members who were in the old media and the parents will say, “We don’t talk about that person anymore.”

This writer for the London Daily Mail got a major fact wrong, but it’s not important to the story.

Still...

My only thought as to how she invented an LBJ governorship of Texas is that she failed to properly research, and relied on her own memory or that of someone she knew, and she somehow confused LBJ with his close friend John Connally...not that she didn’t know they were two different men, or thought LBJ was Connally or vice versa, but that she got a piece of the JC Bio mixed in with the Johnson Bio.

Weird.

If you look at it as just another murder and forget he was the president , you need to ask the one question that they always ask.

Who had the most to gain ?

I actually think that Sam Giaconna wanted him dead and had the ability to do it. I think LBJ was a willing participant in the cover up that he benefitted from.

I taped that LBJ episode of The men who killed Kennedy’.when it came out on the History Channel. Then apparently the History Channel left those episodes out of their boxed set. I know you can watch it on YouTube. The evidence is overwhelming, but what clinched it for me is when I heard the actual tapes of LBJ calling and offering “condolences” to Jackie. He is clearly hitting on her, which is just sick. He had an obsessive envy and wanted to become JFK in every way.

LBJ and his awful wife were the ones who gained the MOST from JFK’s death. I have ALWAYS thought he was behind it, especially since it happened in Texas.

An intern JFK sexually abused published a tell all biography - so this is a rear guard action to take as much oxygen as possible from that story.

Do you see that the Kennedys, along with the Eastern Establishment News Media, have always blamed “Texas” because it happened in the state?

Do you see that it wasn’t just one man she blamed, but a “cabal of Texas businessmen”?

According to the story.

To this day there is still a stigma attached to Texas, and also to Dallas.

I don’t appreciate it.

Their views are not rational. They are based on an emotional need to blame someone other than the Communist nutjob who killed JFK.

So let’s blame “Texas” and “Texans”.

I hold no brief for LBJ...couldn’t stand the guy.

But you have to see this is a smear that is much bigger than against a single individual.

That’s such great evidence.

Not.

Explain Lee Harvey Oswald, the ex Marine who offed Kennedy, and was a Communist who loved Fidel Castro.

Such a convoluted conspiracy - I don’t believe we will ever know the truth.
