Posted on 02/07/2012 12:06:57 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet
Since her vice presidential loss in 2008, Sarah Palin has not nearly as invested in national horse race politics. She resigned as Alaska's governor in her first term in July 2009, and decided not to run in the current GOP presidential race. She has not fully endorsed any of the candidates, but has shown support for Newt Gingrich on numerous counts. Palin said she would vote for the former House Speaker in the South Carolina primary. And recently, Palin said Gingrich was being unfairly attacked by liberals and progressives and not given the opportunity to share the spotlight with other candidates like Mitt Romney.
But as an ex-governor, Palin's reign has ended and nothing she says should be taken under consideration any longer.
"The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family using the media as a channel to dump handpicked and half-baked campaign opposition research on the public, Palin said.
In response, Gingrich welcomed her with open arms, saying he would want her to be a part of his administration if elected president. However, this statement only discourages me even further from voting for Gingrich. No candidate should accept an endorsement from Palin, because she holds a social stigma to her name and boasts an unimpressive political résumé.
Palins 2008 campaign brought her notoriety and ushered her into the realm of celebrity status. That celebrity status helped her create a best-selling memoir, give speeches in crowd-packed venues a national speaking tour, secure a speaking gig on Fox News, and even star in a TLC documentary television series that illustrates her personal life in Alaska.
But Palin is popular for all the wrong reasons. She is often seen as a crazy right-wing Republican that lacks the knowledge and experience to be fit for Washington. As the face of the Tea Party, she became the reality star of politics. But Palin's viewpoints will not be taken seriously because she has been so immersed within our celebrity culture that she is essentially looked down upon in the Republican Party.
But it is not just her character that raises skepticism in the public's eye. In her brief political career, she has not done much to make herself stand out. Because she had no prior experience before governor and was only active in government for two years, Palin is not a reputable voice to listen to. In addition, she is an amateur on international as well as many socioeconomic issues, lacks strong leadership and management qualities, and is hammered by the mainstream media.
Put simply, she does not have the expertise or the likeability factor to make a difference in another candidate's campaign or administration.
Piece of advice- learn to control that uncontrollable desire to write, at least until you can learn to think!
The face of a communist.
We don’t have 15 years so let’s just play WHACK A MOLE as they surface. I like that plan better.
“Brian Tam, Fox News Intern”
This says all you need to know. Interns know what their bosses want to hear. On the night Newt won South Carolina with Sarah’s help, I watched Fox for about two hours just to watch them squirm. That was the first time in 2 1/2 years. The next time I watch Fox will be when hell freezes over.
My comment was still better writing than the author of this piece....
Oops, my mistake...it was 4:30 A.M. here. My writing was not at its best. :)
He's an intern. He's smart.
Now, no one in the internet media really cares anymore. The writing is churned out and standards be damned.
The quality of journalistic writing on the Huff and Puff Post is appalling, for example.
Clearly they are just extreme right wing haters!
Well, this will make it easy to spot his posts over on DU!!
Factual misstatement of her career.
He states as fact that she had no prior experience before Governor and was only in government for two years.
She was Mayor of her town for 7 years.
“Brian Tam, Fox News Intern”....Alan Colmes’ intern or Alan Colmes himself?
It’s not complicated:
Bet he’s gay.
Brian Tam is no command of English language.
Oh do Onyx....I await in expectation..please do...your audiance awaits with great anticipation....come on..do! LOL
Too bad for Fox, they don't seem to be picking the best and the brightest as once did and have resorted to run of the mill who lack the appropriate grey matter to get the job done.
Typical liberal nutcase full of himself.
Whomever this Brian Tam is, he has contributed nothing to any knowledge base.
He appears to be the collator of short versions of every ignorant comment that has ever been erroneously directed at America’s favorite politician.
He’d be a good fit at PMSNBC.
I saw more thought provoking essays on the latrine walls at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait.
>> “I would have been beaten by the nuns...” <<
Of the order of St. Pugilia?
Full name: Brian Tam Pax.
That has to be the most incoherent piece of garbage that I have tried to read in a very long time.
Is it my imagination, or was that thing nearly incomprehensible? I see Brian is an intern. Heavy chops, those.
Poink. nail dot head
They are afraid, very afraid. The left is terrified of Sarah. She is their worst nightmare.
If Sarah is so irrelevant, why waste all that ink & energy trying to destroy her?
She was also chairwoman of the state energy commission and a city councilwoman for a while, too. But this little shitzu couldn’t be bothered taking 30 seconds to look at her bio.
Opinions based on bias should be recognized as such.
“Can’t wait for his Autobiography, I thought I was pedantic, but it turns out I was just an A hole like Obama.
I love your posts. They are Kickass. ;o)
That is why I don’t watch FNC anymore.
I am tired of them going into establishment hyper drive during election time, and then gaining some semblance of normalcy in between.
IOW, I am tired of them trying to suck the life out of conservatives.
The primary and caucuses tonight were great examples of their “unbiased...we report, you decide” reporting.
Fox is hiring 12-year-old interns?
Thank you. Things are so screwed up that we all need a laugh every now and then.
With the Clown we have in the White House and his band of Merry Sycophants in the Media, sometimes the Posts just write themselves.
“With the Clown we have in the White House and his band of Merry Sycophants in the Media, sometimes the Posts just write themselves.”
And, sometimes we have outstanding writers to help those of us who aren’t as gifted as they are. ;o)
Excellent! Stated perfectly.
It's so good to see you!
Could not stay away... times are too important so I got over it! Thanks DC2K!
1. Given his name and photo, English may very well be his second language. If so, he needs to work harder to master it. I'm married into an Asian family and I'm not unaware of the challenges of learning English, but he needs to do so if he intends to work in a communications-related field in the United States.
2. I'm glad Free Republic and the internet didn't exist when I was 21 and writing things for college classes. I suspect some of what I wrote, though conservative, would have been deservedly criticized here. I suspect he'll find this Free Republic thread fairly soon and will be mortified — if not, somebody at FOX News will likely find it and point it out to him.
3. My journalism professors would have failed me if I wrote something like this. So would my high school or junior high teachers.
4. In fairness to the intern, he is interning in video production, not the print side of the J-school. I've seen some **REALLY** bad writing coming from people who have spent years in the broadcast media. They need to look and sound good on air, and writing skills are secondary at best. Spelling is irrelevant on-air, and grammar may not be especially important depending on the context.
5. Finally, to the intern, if he's reading this: THINK BEFORE YOU PUT STUFF ON THE INTERNET ABOUT POLITICS IF YOU WANT TO GET HIRED IN THE NEWS MEDIA!!!! I've spent more years in the media than you've been alive, and I know what things are like when it comes to hiring. For nearly all of those years I had to be very careful **NOT** to let people learn my political views, and since my editors and colleagues did know I was a conservative, I had to work much harder to prove I wasn't biased toward conservative candidates and issues. Maybe you'll get away with writing something like this as a FOX News intern, but you've severely damaged your potential for hiring by posting political things online. It's simply not smart.
I’m so glad you “got over it.” lol
I always love to read your opinions.
They matter to me.
This person couldn't tell his butt from a hole in the ground.
“We certainly have a war with the left this time... and our republican commanders will not give us air or artillery support!”
That is just exactly how I feel about all of this election nonsense!
It’s the war within the party that concerns me.
I will never condone what John Sununu, et al have done in the name of Mitt Romney.
Why do you post such articles? It just feeds the snakes who love to slam Palin.
This is the second of this students articles on FR...so what’s the deal I wonder....it stinks either way to see Palin bashing articles Jim’s site.
