Posted on 02/07/2012 12:06:57 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet
Since her vice presidential loss in 2008, Sarah Palin has not nearly as invested in national horse race politics. She resigned as Alaska's governor in her first term in July 2009, and decided not to run in the current GOP presidential race. She has not fully endorsed any of the candidates, but has shown support for Newt Gingrich on numerous counts. Palin said she would vote for the former House Speaker in the South Carolina primary. And recently, Palin said Gingrich was being unfairly attacked by liberals and progressives and not given the opportunity to share the spotlight with other candidates like Mitt Romney.
But as an ex-governor, Palin's reign has ended and nothing she says should be taken under consideration any longer.
"The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family using the media as a channel to dump handpicked and half-baked campaign opposition research on the public, Palin said.
In response, Gingrich welcomed her with open arms, saying he would want her to be a part of his administration if elected president. However, this statement only discourages me even further from voting for Gingrich. No candidate should accept an endorsement from Palin, because she holds a social stigma to her name and boasts an unimpressive political résumé.
Palins 2008 campaign brought her notoriety and ushered her into the realm of celebrity status. That celebrity status helped her create a best-selling memoir, give speeches in crowd-packed venues a national speaking tour, secure a speaking gig on Fox News, and even star in a TLC documentary television series that illustrates her personal life in Alaska.
But Palin is popular for all the wrong reasons. She is often seen as a crazy right-wing Republican that lacks the knowledge and experience to be fit for Washington. As the face of the Tea Party, she became the reality star of politics. But Palin's viewpoints will not be taken seriously because she has been so immersed within our celebrity culture that she is essentially looked down upon in the Republican Party.
But it is not just her character that raises skepticism in the public's eye. In her brief political career, she has not done much to make herself stand out. Because she had no prior experience before governor and was only active in government for two years, Palin is not a reputable voice to listen to. In addition, she is an amateur on international as well as many socioeconomic issues, lacks strong leadership and management qualities, and is hammered by the mainstream media.
Put simply, she does not have the expertise or the likeability factor to make a difference in another candidate's campaign or administration.
Just an intern, in other words a college student i.e. someone woefully ignorant who likes to hear the sound of his own voice.
I don't want to pick on the grammar but I can't read past anything that bad. Gives me a headache.
Who is this Brian Tams and why would anyone care what he/she thinks?
Brian Tam, Fox News Intern - Interns do have a history of having credibility in the world of politics.
Good grief, the very first “sentence” of the story isn’t even a sentence. Was this a paper for a remedial social studies class at an “alternative school” somewhere? Because holy crap, this is awful writing. This kid needs to find a different profession.
“I am currently a sophomore student within NYU’s school of journalism. I work with the video production team at Fox News. I have an uncontrollable desire to write, which could explain my interests in journalism. Because I’m annoyingly pedantic and inquisitive, I tend to frequently critique my writing as well as others’....”
I’m concerned about FNC.
I’ve read that now 10 times and can’t make sense of it. I’m afraid it’s not decipherable, oh well son, maybe someday. But for now, you need to take remedial English.
“...Palin’s reign has ended and nothing she says should be taken under consideration any longer.”
Then what are you getting your panties in a wad about?
You think Brian Tam is short for Meghan McCain?
Petty, pretentious and predictable.
Maybe she’s his hag?
"Uncontrollable", as in seizures, convulsions, spasms, regurgitation, etc.
I would have been beaten by the nuns, if I turned in an assignment this poorly written in grammar school.
And I would have deserved it.
Another writer discover’s the Basic Law of Journalism. Which is, if you want your piece to be read, put Palin’s name in the headline.
She’s irrelevant, he says, but he uses her name anyway because without it... no one is going to even click on his piece. But with her name in the title, he’s guaranteed to get a bit of traffic.
Thats how irrelevant she is.
Ha! That’s very possible!
He’s, also, “annoyingly pedantic and inquisitive.”
Interesting choice for FNC.
I won’t speculate. It’s killing me, but I won’t. LOL.
Can't wait for his Autobiography, “I thought I was pedantic, but it turns out I was just an A hole like Obama”.
“Put simply, she does not have the expertise or the likeability factor to make a difference in another candidate’s campaign or administration.”
Put simply, this nitwit is a green progressive intern who will quite likely end up on al gore’s Current TV as an anchor person or at msnbc delivering mail.
Exactly! That was way beyond bad grammar. That was "repeat the fifth grade" incoherent.

Although I am a Democrat and voted for Obama originally, I can’t help but agree to some extent about the ineffectiveness of Obama as president. Still, I believe that when he became president, he inherited many of the greatest problems that the country faces, almost an untenable situation. And we don’t really know in terms of economics, the difference that his policies will make, the effects of most long-term policies can only be seen in about 8-10 years. Also, I think that a majority of the problems that existed was in part due to poor government policy, political gridlock, and the revolving door of problems that exist. Obama wasn’t the best leader, but it’s not like he didn’t attempt to deliver his promises. He is a man of action.
A couple of admittedly out of context examples that come to mind.
A car collided under the bridge...
The victim fell into the river and drowned to death...
The governor has asked that all schools and government buildings fly flags at half mast today...
The restaurant had to be closed due to a fire across town.
Tonight's low will be a high in the mid 20's.
It will be sunny and dry with scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day.
After being beaten to death the victim walked across the street and collapsed on a neighbor's porch. He's hospitalized and listed in serious condition this morning.
These are excerpts from writers with college degrees and newsroom experience.
The best and the brightest. /sarc
He’s an idiot. Thanks very much. Faux News has already gone to He//.
It’s not remotely possible that English is his first language. If it is, he’s an F student.
I hope Roger Ailes approves of this idiot punk writer’s essay because he just received a copy of it.
It goes like this. Sarah vets Willsrd or Obama will.Willard want fight back against Obama (because he is a wimp like McCrap)
Thats how irrelevant she is.
What you said.
The writer isn’t even 21 years old and has an uncontrollable urge to write...
>>...I could pick this apart, including the grammar, but I’d like to see what you think...<<
I’d tell the guy: “Opinions vary”. Anything more than that would be a complete waste of breath.
Well, I might also advise him to seek an internship at a more anti-reality outlet like huffpo or similar.
An f-ing intern who thinks he knows the world and politics.
I am currently a sophomore student within NYU's school of journalism. I work with the video production team at Fox News. I have an uncontrollable desire to write, which could explain my interests in journalism. Because I'm annoyingly pedantic and inquisitive, I tend to frequently critique my writing as well as others'....
A skull full of mush.
Yeah, no agenda there!
The writer can't even figure out if they want to talk in the past tense or present tense, often mixing them in the same sentence.
I teach my 2nd graders how to write better than this....
I am meeting more and more Chinese American communist males as of late. It’s disturbing.
LOL my thoughts exactly! And as for Palin’s reign ending, this idiot has never “reigned” at all so why should anyone care what she thinks or tries to write?
