Skip to comments.Criticism of President Dangerous, Says Jackson
Posted on 02/07/2012 9:36:55 AM PST by John Semmens
Former presidential candidate Reverend Jesse Jackson averred that criticism of President Obama has gotten dangerously out of hand.
The constant barrage of right-wing criticism leveled at the president by his enemies has reached unacceptably perilous magnitude, Jackson insisted. When a governor is allowed to point her finger at him or a member of Congress is permitted to get away with calling him a liar we must acknowledge that rhetoric has gone too far.
Jackson cited history to bolster his concern. President John Kennedy was vilified by right-wingers, Jackson asserted. This created an atmosphere conducive to violence. The next we knew, he was shot and killed. We must do what we can to eliminate todays attacks on President Obama before the same thing happens to him.
The role that any so-called right-wing criticism of Kennedys policies might have played in his assassination is unclear. Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who shot Kennedy, was a communist sympathizer whose grievance against the President appeared related to Kennedys opposition to Cubas communist regime.
if you missed any of this week's other semi-news posts you can find them at...
He had no problem raising the heat and level of vitriol against GWB.
On the other hand, Jackson must think the dems saying similar things about a Repub congress member or president is OK.....
Dear Jessie. I might take what you are saying more seriously if I couldn’t remember the never ending vile things you always said about President George W Bush!!
And yes, I know this was satire.
“...or a member of Congress is permitted to get away with calling him a liar”
What if its true?
“The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Tuesday that it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health reform law.
Of that $28.8 million, approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.
Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.
According to the Pew Hispanic Center, illegal immigrants make up an estimated 25 percent of all migrant farm workers, with disproportionate amounts residing in California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia.”
Will the Reverand still let Wilson ‘get away’ with making a truthful statement? Or is that racist?
“The constant barrage of right-wing criticism leveled at the president by his enemies has reached unacceptably perilous magnitude,”
Jessie, if you can not take the, heat get out of the kitchen..............remember the “right wing” learned how to dish it out from you and your fellow democrats.
I heard somebody got away with saying “I want to cut his nuts off”.
Maybe Zer0 can make JJ part of the New Castrati.
NO comment John as I saw who the author was prior to reading the article by Jackson when it was published, and skipped reading it as I consider anything out of his head as a waste of my valuable time, therefore it’s better said that I can’t comment.
I’m certain though what you wrote here is still the best semi-news, semi-satire around.
Great poster! Hammer meet nail.
And shot by a left-winger.
All of you who actually CARE what Rev. Bullshi* thinks or says, please hold up your hands. Names WILL be taken!
“...allowed to point her finger at him...”
Hello? He’s that fragile that a pointed finger is dangerous to him? He’d better resign now, before someone brandishes some fruit...
I'm with you. These days, it's hard enough to tell real news from real satire (I've been sucked in on more than a few occasions.)
Trying to figure out what's "semi-news" and "semi-satire" is just an impossible task, one that I fear can lead a lot of conservatives to spout John's writings as being true when they're not.
That can only serve to put egg on the face of conservative credibility.
Jesse the extorionist Jackson didn’t ust the race card,or did he?.
Jackson is just another liberal hypocrite. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. How many different names did this moron call GW Bush?
They seem to forger that their side actually made a movie about killing Bush.Blow it out your @** Jesse.
