CPAC 2012: Sarah Palin cleans out the Washington hot tub
Human Events ^ | February 11, 2012 | John Hayward

None of the Republican presidential candidates got anything like the response Sarah Palin earned from the CPAC crowd. Not even close. I lost count of the standing ovations.

Is it easier to get the whole crowd surging to its feet when you’re not a candidate, and nobody in the audience has an axe to grind? Maybe, but no other speaker at CPAC rocked the house like Palin did, either.

Could there be some residual protective affection warming a crowd that remembers how Palin was savaged during her days on the McCain ticket, and even more brutally attacked during the Left’s bizarre and despicable attempts to pin the Jared Loughner murders on her? Perhaps. Conservative audiences honor those who fight for their ideals, and never sell out. Selling out is easy. The rewards can be rich.

Run, Sarah, run! Our country needs you and your instinctive ways of governing. You were raised to love God first, and your neighbor as yourself, out of which flows all the goodness of righteous living and happiness in this life. This is something the left, and many in the GOP, cannot see because they have never experienced it themselves. Hence their rush to destroy you because you are the very evidence of true life that they know themselves not to be.

We are the heirs of patriots, who cast off the chains of tyranny,” Palin concluded. It is freedom that makes us exceptional, and protecting that freedom is an exceptional duty. It always has been as simple as that. The guys who muck everything up are the ones who make it sound complicated. They’ve got a billion reasons why you shouldn’t kick them out of that hot tub.

Simply perfect.

Sarah was so good yesterday that I started crying half way through and was still crying after she left the stage.
The lady can say more in one sentence than anyone else can in an entire speech.
If only...

I’m still praying that she will run. She is head and shoulders above any of the other candidates. Our country needs her, and I don’t see any alternative capable of fighting the good fight that is needed.

Usually Ron Paul wins the straw poll at CPAC by busing in his followers by the hundreds. This year he was busy in Maine, and Mitt’s money bought more buses. After all, the conference is open to anyone.

But there is no question who is best capable of stirring the base on everything that is needed—freedom, economic sanity, smaller government, right to life, families and communities, and a return to Christian values.

Sarah doesn’t preach religion, but she is not ashamed to talk about the things that really matter, and she sets the example that is needed.

She was wonderful. Maybe — please, God — she will agree to be the nominee’s running mate. Fingers crossed.

These are the paid occupier dupes who showed their disrespect of Sarah during her speech. This photo fires me up knowing what Sarah said in her speech. The occupiers think they can tear it all down and start over. They don't realize that their Der Zer0 is trying that the best he can to tear it all down. What will be left will be the lawlessness, rats, human excrement, sickness and no hope. Count on it.

AUOccupy and G-Town Students show the defaced banner they used to Mic Check Sara Palin.

I apologize for the triple post. I was getting that message something like “server not found”, so I thought my comment was not being posted.

So did I, a double post. One of those days. . Just watched Sarah's speech again. Definitely her best speech since 2008, with Indianola a close second. Her speech not in the news at all, of course. . .

Have been getting the same message all day. They showed the breakdown by age of those that voted...Youngest group had the highest number. Also the young people filled the hall and clapped after every sentence when willard spoke.

Was told that he brought students or young people in with similar religious background. Wonder if a time line of when the votes were cast would confirm this.

If the straw poll was done on a computer (an attempt to keep multiple votes being cast by the same person) surely they would be able to tell if the votes were coming from the students that were only there during Romney’s speech.

Does Mittens own CPAC or is there any one there who will expose his purchase of a straw poll. (Don’t tell me money can’t buy power)

Well, Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” did make mention of it when he had he on his show. Of course, he wasted almost all of the time for her interview with stupid stuff.

First, he kept trying to get her to dis Romney. (He tried to get her to endorse someone, but I won’t hold that against him, as any of the mediacrats would love to be the one to break that story.)

Second, and much worse, he showed clips from the stupid HBO movie that is being made about her VP run and asked her to comment on them.

Really burned me up. He didn’t bother to try to get her to articulate policy. He pulled a similar stunt with Santorum by using up most of the interview time in arguing with Santorum about homo “marriage”.

I really don’t put any stock in the results of the straw poll at CPAC, and I wonder how many people do consider it significant.

My plan is to keep backing and praying for Santorum.

CPAC endorsed Romney in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

CPAC endorsed Ron Paul in 2010 and 2011.

What a missed opportunity by Chris Wallace to have Sarah elaborate on points from her speech. They always have to go the assumed 'pop culture' path. Still cheering for a real Conservative Only network someday. .

You are much kinder than I. You can call it a missed opportunity; I view it as a deliberate attempt to dilute her message.

Wow—an excellent article—thanks for posting.

I listened to this speech yesterday, and got misty eyed thinking about what might have been.

I know she would be one of the best Presidents ever to grace to the Oval Office, and I cannot think of a finer one to get in there and erase the stains from The Chicago community organizer.

I know she would never put her feet on the furniture.

May God be merciful to us and give her a chance to be our President. The sooner, the better.

If the GOP “mucks” this election up, they are going the way of the Whigs.

When the people investigation the vote, actually approve of the outcome, doubtful you will see a change in the result, unless they find more votes for Mitt.
