Actual title is :Is this Media Matters ‘favorite’ WashPost columnist?: Undisclosed group instrumental in promoting Obama’s political career.

A Washington Post columnist to which Media Matters reportedly pushed its content has a previously undisclosed connection to President Obama – the two were part of a small group at Harvard University that met for a period of three years purportedly to promote involvement with U.S. community institutions.

Participants at the research project, which took place between 1997 and 2000, included scores of individuals with ties to Obama, including several activists who were later appointed to positions in the Obama administration. Other participants were instrumental in promoting Obama’s political career.

As part of an in-depth investigative series into the embattled Media Matters for America progressive group, the Daily Caller earlier this week quoted a former Media Matters staffer as saying, “We’ve pushed stories to Eugene Robinson and E.J. Dionne [at the Washington Post]. Brian Stelter at the New York Times was helpful.”

Yesterday, Jacob Laksin, managing editor of Frontpage Magazine, noted seemingly consistencies between Dionne’s statements and Media Matters messaging.

In March 2007, Media Matters’ Eric Boehlert charged Republicans and Fox News were waging “a smear campaign against NPR.”

FrontPageMag noted that several months later, Dionne reprised the charge of a Fox News “smear campaign against NPR” during an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press. Dionne further denouncedFox as a “Republican propaganda network,” echoing the charge of Media Matters founder David Brock, who famously claimed Fox was part of a “Republican noise machine.”

Dionne writes two highly liberal political columns per week for the Washington Post.

As usual, a very informative article from Aaron. It's lengthy but you need to read the whole thing. They are working their plan and I pray they do not accomplish their ultimate goal.

How closely tied are the JounOlist group and the media matters drones? I imagine they are practically one and the same. I just read a disgusting article about some ultra wealthy democrat donor (I know, there are tons of them... the irony) who isn't giving to obama this time because he isn't "progressive" enough. She said she could give diners at easily 5,000 a plate to support him, but she won't. $5,000.00????? These people are so freaking out of touch with "flyover" country and the real everyday American, it is hard to believe. The comments at the article are sadly sickening, too. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/02/16/MND61N71MS.DTL I know it is San Fran I should expect vial leftism, but how did these people get so much of our wealth? The great ironic puzzle is how do such idiots become so much more wealthy than the rest of us? Is satan blessing them?

Most of the wealthy liberals like her were TRUST FUND BABIES! They turn progressive to assuage the guilt they had at their upbringings and to be able to fit into the social circles they want to join.

Because they have so much trust income they are not as affected by tax policy or progressive economic initiatives as the first generation entrepreneurs they have no problem whacking economically. They NEVER had to do the heavy lifting!

Probably the best argument I’ve ever seen why a large estate tax might NOT be a bad idea . . .

“Dionne was part of a small group at Harvard University that met for a period of three years [1997-2000] purportedly to promote involvement with U.S. community institutions. The group was called the Saguaro Seminars....”

Look, it's really simple: It's corruption that's blessing them, the best government money can buy.

Regulations put their smaller competition out of business. Regulations create shortages which allows prices to rise. Control of access to resources induces a means by which to manage their competition. Preferential treatment by government specification means that they can make fat royalties on the patents their companies produce.

The reason for limited government is that it cannot sell favors, protect the incompetent, or punish competitors. THAT'S why there are limousine liberals. If the Republicans are supposedly the party of big business, the Democrats are the party of MONSTROUS business and always have been. Why Republicans never point this out is a mystery to me.

One more thing: the more democratic the country becomes, the more the government is controlled by public opinion. The more power is invested in government, the more profitable the ability to manipulate public opinion becomes. THAT is why the media and leftist pols call it, “our democracy.”

Nearly the entire "media" is now so closely allied to, and taking their walking order from, the white house, that it's just silly to refer to them as "the media." I've stopped doing so.

What we now have is nothing more than a ministry of propaganda, really no different than what has long been instituted in North Korea and Cuba.

Dionne is a douchebag. I read his articles occasionally in the Yomiuri Times and he would use the most absurd wording to demonize people. I remember one line in particular “Many believe that President Bush is prejudiced against the picayune...” as if it were a racial group or something.

Look at Solyndra and all the other green companies that got stimulus funds. Those were no more than Obama buddies robbing the bank.

Now we’ve learned that banks were laundering Mexican drug money. Wonder who may have got some of that dough? I think there may be more to Fast & Furious than the guns.

Crooks of a feather flock together. They’re stealing from the honest hard working American through slush funds etc.

Maybe Aaron will research how many of these may have been on the receiving end of stimulus money. These people are all snakes in the same pit.
