Law abiding? Think of them as Undocumented Gun Owners...
My rule:
Conceal carry as you will.
Avoid metal detectors.
The only time you acknowledge carrying the weapon is when personally contacted by a LEO.
For most folks that should be about once every 5 years during a traffic stop.
In most jurisdictions, if you’re licensed to carry, the LEO will know.
Hopefully this will go all the way to the supreme court and the anti-gun law will be struck down.
No properly educated, patriotic American would go to New York City.

NY TO LAW-ABIDING GUN OWNERS: Go to Jail, Let Criminals Collect $200
Ryan Jerome is a U.S. Marine now working in the private sector as a jeweler in Indiana, where he has a state permit to carry a handgun. On a recent business trip to New York, he took his gun with him as personal protection, given that he was also carrying some valuable merchandise.
Little did he know, New York is among the strictest gun-control states. So, when Jerome visited the Empire State Building and approached security to willingly check his firearm before entering, the police didnt hesitate to arrest and charge him with a felony.
According to Alan Gottlieb, executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation and co-author of the new book, Shooting Blanks: Facts Dont Matter to the Gun Ban Crowd, common sense and the Constitution both say security overreacted.
The Manhattan District Attorney unwilling to drop all charges against Jerome is the same DA who is a champion of the citys Gun Buyback initiative that allows any individualeven those literally coming from the scene of commiting an armed crimeto walk up to a designated police drop box and trade in a firearm for a taxpayer-funded $200 bank card No questions asked.

There. That was the whole thing. Barely two more paragraphs. Was that so hard? Sheesh!
The implication and intent of the 2nd Amendment is that you shoot the cop who tries to take your gun. He is the agent of tyranny just like the british soldiers who came to Lexington and Concord to confiscate the colonist’s guns. It was the flashpoint for revolution then and should be so today.
Any state that wants to help put an end to New York's practice should use the traditional method ~ TAKE ONE OF THEM HOSTAGE.
For example, let's say Mayor Bloomberg wants to visit Washington DC so he flies to Dulles Airport, or National ~ and he gets in limousine rented for him ~ when that car hits Virginia roads (which happen to be the only way to get from those airports to DC) he gets ARRESTED and charged with Hostage Taking (or kidnapping ~ whatever it's called these days).
Or, he flies to Indianapolis to see the 500. The Governor will visit him in jail ~ and Indiana has some fine jails ~ nasty in fact!
I think the practice would end pretty soon.
I’m as strong a 2nd Amendment supporter as anyone. I grew up in NY. Brother was a NYC cop. Dad has a STATE permit. Many pages long and if there’s a typo, they send it back to you to be redone in its entirety.
The laws in NY and NYC, there’s a difference, are absolutely ridiculous and they suck and they violate the Constitution. I get it.
BUT FOR CRYING-OUT-EFFING-LOUD, ITS NOT AN EFFING SECRET TO ANY GUNOWNER, ANYWHERE. IF THAT GUY DID A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF RESEARCH HE WOULD KNOW WHERE HE’S GOING. It’s not like this issue hasn’t been in the news lately.
This guy has only himself to blame.
Unless someone is a hermit or a monk whose taken a vow
of some sort how can any one in America not know that NYC
is as rabidly anti 2A as anyplace on the planet can get.
I feel sorry for the guy in the story but going to NYC is
stupid. Taking your gun with you to NYC is stupider. And asking to “check” your sidearm so you can visit an attraction is felony stupid.
NICE!!!
