Documents: PETA kills more than 95 percent of pets in its care

Documents published online this month show that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization known for its uncompromising animal-rights positions, killed more than 95 percent of the pets in its care in 2011.

The documents, obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, were published online by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a non-profit organization that runs online campaigns targeting groups that antagonize food producers.

Fifteen years’ worth of similar records show that since 1998 PETA has killed more than 27,000 animals at its headquarters in Norfolk, VA.

Several years ago some workers from PETA got nailed for dumping dead animal bodies in the dumpster of a grocery store in that area.

Sounds more like a money making outfit then one helping the pets.

Many animal “rights” groups do not rescue, or even kill animals. Leftists are despicable liars and kooks.

Unless my ears have been failing me for the last 20 years when it comes to PETA propoganda, by their own standards they should stand trial for mass murder.

These are the scum who say they would swerve and kill a human baby to avoid hitting a snake in the road, the two being equal.

PETA’s relationship to animals sort of reminds me of that woman on FR who claimed that men were more dangerous to children than women. But over the last 40 years or so there have been about 800,000 murders in the U.S. of victims of all ages by perpetrators of both genders. Over about the same length of time, there have been over 53,000,000 unborn babies killed by women through abortion. Who is the more dangerous to the most vulnerable of children?

Peta is one of numerous politically correct groups whose chief purpose is to scarf up money for insider salaries and benefits from idiot donors. If they kill their animals rather than expensively keeping them, then more money goes into their pockets.

But, of course, they will insist that these are “mercy killings.”

PETA does not believe in the concept of pets. To them animals are above humans and pets are “slaves”. It has long been the goal of PETA to exterminate all domestic animals.

I wonder what percentage of PETA members and PETA paid positions are held by women . . .

these nuts believe it is more merciful to kill an animal than to permit it to be “owned” by a human

seriesly

there was an expose here in DC some years ago about how the PETA-run shelter euthanized animals before they could be claimed by families that had applied to adopt them. Adopters would apply on the weekend, submit the paperwork, and then come back Monday and the animal was dead

Well, I know at least that a daughter of a friend worked personally with Ingrid Newkirk. That's two to begin with.

Oh, sure. The word “pet” is no longer permitted in those circles. Last summer I drove across Vermont and noticed that the St. Johnsbury Pet Hospital I drive by has been renamed the Companion Animal Hospital.

I guess it’s OK if a dog and a person live in the same house together, as long as they have equal rights, and neither of them demeans the other.

...it’s OK if a dog and a person live in the same house together, as long as they have equal rights, and neither of them demeans the other.

I always found the concept of "animal rights" a intellectually vacant ideal. Animals do not and cannot recognize another animals so called "rights." Just put a bowl of food before a dog and cat and see if the dog respects the cat's "equal rights" to it's fair share of the contents .

Or an snake's recognization of a bird's right to life, liberty and the persuit to happiness.

That is not to say they are not to be treated in an, dare I say, humane way. Just in order to have rights one must be in a position to respect another's equal rights.

Of course this isn't the goal of animal rightists, what is their objective is the power they get by representing animals before the law. And their objectives just happen to coincede with their other ulterior motives, i.e, universal goverance. After all who will protect these rights if not the animals' benefactors?

PETA, Humane society of the United States of America(HSUS) and many other charities are just sinister communist front groups that pull on heart strings of naive American to raise money to destroy our freedoms and Christian way of life. These commies have been at this game for a long time.

We here at FR know what kooks the Animals Rights (leftists) are...the hard job is getting the word out to the young people who have forever been the tender prey of these radical groups.
I include HSUS as an Animal "Rights" terrorist group too.
