Skip to comments.“Taxes Are what You Pay for the Privilege of Being an American” Says Geithner

US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner advised taxpayers to quit complaining, taxes are what you pay for the privilege of being an American.
You know, there are places in the world where the government can take everything you have, Geithner observed. The fact that you get to keep anything here ought to inspire a greater appreciation for your own governments forbearance.
The Secretary warned those he called the one-percenters, that government is the only thing preventing the other 99% from murdering you and looting your property. The protection we offer ought to be worth whatever it costs. Quibbling over the price of this protection may be an unwise course.

Since when is slavery a privilege?
So are we to assume that 49.5 of non tax paying citizens are not afforded the privileges extended to tax paying Americans?
This coming from a guy who didn’t pay his and blamed it on a computer program
Says the tax-evader.
Didn't The Won actually say something to that effect a couple of years ago?
Something like "I'm the only one standing between you and the mobs."?
This is so rich from the guy who didn’t pay his taxes and blamed it on his inability to use Turbo Tax.
No. My privilege is of being an American born of 2 American citizens.
The Constitution and Bill of Rights PROTECTS us from people like you....although, we the people haven't been doing a very good job at keeping it that way.
Something evil is coming our way. We all know it, we all feel it.
In the end, it will be up to US, THE PEOPLE, to stop this evil.
Mind reading again, eh?
I see you have 3 in the bag...
As always, excellent. So close to what we see and hear we KNOW it is what they think...
Silly me! I thought the first lesson Timmy taught us were that taxes were what you evaded to become head of the treasury department.
For the privilege of being an American?
I thought it was a RIGHT for any 3rd world rabble to enter the country according to his people.
Since we elected into office a tyrannical dictator wannabe, silly.
Make that 6 in the bag... ;) :)
“Since when is slavery a privilege?”
The Democrats have always been about slavery.
LOL, from turbo tax Timmy. Ya can’t make this stuff up,....oh wait, ya can’t not make this stuff up.
So is this puke faced a$$hole trying to impose his form of taxation by threat? Bring it on A hole.
Lock and load.
The fact that you get to keep anything here ought to inspire a greater appreciation for your own governments forbearance.
Was that a threat?
Nope-—there are essential taxes which are Constitutional—but any taxes for their numerous unconstitutional programs are not legal by our Supreme Law of the Land. That we pay for Czars and bureaucracies is tyranny and an enslavement of the citizens—when We the People have the supreme right to private property and the products of our labors-—government has no right to tax that at all. NONE....it is unconstitutional and a Communist law-—to redistribute the wealth. It is antithetical to the ideas of the Constitutional Republic.
Has this man completely lost his mind?
Does anyone have any idea what this man is talking about?
That is, what group of murderers is he talking about?
I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone who would go out and murder rich people like Gates of Microsoft if it wasn't for the federal government holding them back.
Well I guess that leaves you out, doesn’t it Timmy boy, you tax-cheating little pr!ck?
