US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner advised taxpayers to “quit complaining, taxes are what you pay for the privilege of being an American.”

“You know, there are places in the world where the government can take everything you have,” Geithner observed. “The fact that you get to keep anything here ought to inspire a greater appreciation for your own government’s forbearance.”

The Secretary warned those he called the “one-percenters,” that “government is the only thing preventing the other 99% from murdering you and looting your property. The protection we offer ought to be worth whatever it costs. Quibbling over the price of this protection may be an unwise course.”

I realize this is satire, but many Leftists moon bats do believe that citizens, particularly the Evil Rich, should happily fork over at least 50% of their income because the government is responsible for their success and safety.

It’s obvious when looking at the rich and famous, including Leftist politicians, their security is a result of paying body guards with guns to protect them. The rest of us are either armed or are sitting ducks.

Not satire. Ya take away or reduce governments punitive demand for more and more money and ya take away/reduce their escalating control and power.

This is why government continues to expand and grow, instead of reducing/limiting their spending/size of government, which results in constant demands for more taxes/money/control, passing more laws/regulations.

This is not difficult or complex to understand.

Gee, this could have been a quote from King George the Third.

This guy and his Big-Government Leftist buddies have it backwards - "We the people" created the federal government. "We the people" are freemen, not slaves and the federal government is limited by the Constitution which "we the people" created. Mr. Geithner, welcome to America (maybe). In America, "We the people" are the masters under God and government is our servant. We're the employer, you're the employee.

"We the people" allow YOU to tax for the wages of the privilege of running a LIMITED government. Your first job has been mainly to protect the states from foreign invaders which you have failed miserably to do in the last 50 years. (We should have been fired you by now.)

The price we pay to be Americans is not between you and us but between us and our God who gave us our freedom to begin with. Freedom has a price and there are no guarantees. We have to work hard for our freedom especially because there are no guaranteed outcomes. Freedom is daunting and difficult and can be scary, but there's nothing better on earth, this side of Heaven. That's the price we and generations before us have paid to be Americans and many people have died to get here and pay that price because of their "yearning to breathe free."

What you're really saying Mr. Geithner, is government wants us to exchange the price we pay for the uncertainties of our freedom and instead pay government for taking away our freedom with its uncertainties.

"We the people" decline the invitation and are willing to fight you and yours to keep our freedom and cut the federal government down to it's Constitutional size where it can get back to the work WE hired it to do. We'll pay you REASONABLE, FLAT, ONE-TIME ONLY taxes as your wages for staying within your employment contract, THE CONSTITUTION.

What you're really saying Mr. Geithner, is government wants us to exchange the price we pay for the uncertainties of our freedom and instead pay government for taking away our freedom with its uncertainties ("entitlements").

"We the people" decline the invitation and are willing to fight you and yours to keep our freedom and cut the federal government down to it's Constitutional size where it can get back to the work WE hired it to do. And get your "entitlements" outta here
