Rick Santorum is toast.
February 29, 2012 | techno

10 reasons he is toast:

1)He now is showing a major gender gap in his female voting whereas 2-3 weeks ago in polls it was negligible. Santorum lost Catholic women in Michigan to Romney by about 15-20 points.

2)Newt Gingrich will rise again to cancel Santorum out making each other non-viable. Major conservative vote splitting will occur again allowing Romney to come up the middle.

3)My prediction (other than Washington)is that Santorum doesn't win another contest in this primary season.

4)Romney has all the momentum and too much of an advantage in money and organization and will have the nomination clinched by early April.

5)The JFK comment was on politics and religion was a huge UNFORCED ERROR and alienated a lot of Catholic voters that he probably lost forever

6)Romney is seen as way more electable than Santorum although some polls do not bear that out.

7)Many Republicans and some conservatives will never forgive him for the robocalls to Democrats in Michigan

8)Santorum is an embarrassment to the GOP establishment (calling Obama a snob). They will never allow him to win the nomination. He is now as despised by the GOP hierarchy as Sarah Palin is.

9)SNL will now lampoon him to kingdom come. Once you become an entertainment laughingstock it's game over.

10)And Rick Santorum is toast because he acts unpresidential on too many occasions. Voters are now seeing it. He doesn't think before he speaks. He doesn't believe that discretion is the better part of valor. He wades into areas where angels fear to tread.

Simply Rick Santorum is toast because he cannot avoid getting himself into hot water.

I don’t disagree with the possibility that Santorum may have peaked, but I disagree with that Romney is going to take it.

All of them will keep splitting the vote, I think, until there is a brokered convention.

I don’t know who might win that, hopefully Newt.

I could make a list for each and every candidate if my reasons were as weak as yours.

He’s going to have trouble losing Tennessee. A large portion of us vote early, in this case, during the period he was leading by 18+ points. He is about that far ahead in Oklahoma and comfortably ahead in Ohio. You might want to rethink at least that portion of your rant.

SNL does not elect presidents. God help us if it ever does. Rick has a chance just like any other candidate.

Romney didn’t win MI. He tied with Santorum over the number of delegates.

If your guy Romney steals the nomination, we’ll all be toast because Obama will get another 4 years to destroy this country.

Romney = Obama lite

This post is beyond insane. Here in Romney’s home state, Santorum gets the same number of delegates as Romney and comes within a whisker of beating Romney after being outspent 5 to 1, and someone thinks he’s toast? This is beyond reason.

I hope you’re right. I can picture Newt or Mitt Romney either one winning, I can’t picture Santorum winning at this point. The choice needs to be between Gingrich and Romney.

How many “home States” does Mitt have? I swear, the media is pounding that home, (pun intended) but he hasn’t lived in Michigan since he was a kid.
New Hampshire was supposed to be his home state, because he lived there.

He was Gov. of Mass, so that’s considered his home state.

Does his home in California qualify that to be his home state?

Is Utah a home state on account of the Mormon support?
Same goes for Arizona and Nevada, home field advantage?

Where does it end?

Careful that all home state eggs are not put into Michigan’s basket.

And yet, as of today, he is 13 points ahead of Romney in OH.

Nice try.

Since the debate last Wednesday Rick Santorum has been in free fall. He has lost 11 points on the national Gallup DTP since then (36% to 25%) and now is only 9 points ahead of Newt Gingrich and now a full 8 points back of Romney.

If not for the two primaries yesterday the #1 political story would have been how Rick Santorum has slid into the political abyss and that there is not a lifeline long enough to pull him out.

I look for him and Newt to meet up within the next week.

Look for Romney to win Ohio, and Newt to win both Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Santorum’s ship is now listing badly. It is about to go down like the Titanic.

Farewell, Rick. A real American tragedy.

Santo can no longer hide like he was just a few weeks ago when he was trailing Newt and Mittens when no one was paying much attention to him.

I’ve been humbled by making proclamations of largely wishful thinking before.

Santorum is not an enemy- Obama is, however.

Yeah, we all wish something will happen, someone will fold and throw support, etc.

I just hope God has not forsaken this country, as He in the past has showed mercy when there was but one righteous man left..

Advocate and argue all you want. Be careful with predictions and pronouncements.

I agree with what you said. I just don’t see Santorum beating zero.

Romney and Newt both have a history of running things...whether or not you agree with all of what they did...but Santorum is just belching rhetoric...although at least he has more of a track record than zero but still...I just don’t think he has the gravitas.

Bottom line...I wouldn’t hire Santorum to run my company but I might hire him to be a salesman.
