More "Insurrectionists" Than I Imagined -#EFAD Is Number Two
No Lawyers - Only Guns and Money ^ | 2 March, 2012 | John Richardson

The favorite epithet that the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (sic) and their leaders love to throw at gunnies is "insurrectionist". It doesn't matter which end of the political spectrum you are on, if you believe the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms then you are labeled an "insurrectionist".

Imagine their consternation to see that the number two book on the Top 100 Free Kindle books is none other than Matthew Bracken's Enemies Foreign and Domestic. That is because in their worldview this is one of the classic insurrectionist novels for its portrayal of an out-of-control ATF and the armed response from Ranya Bardiwell, Brad Fallon, and friends. It ranks right up there with John Ross' Unintended Consequences as subversive literature in their narrow-minded opinion.

Matthew Bracken is making this book available for free in Kindle format until March 5th. Frankly, he is hoping the attention given the book will start a discussion and has penned an essay called "Gangster Government, and Sakarov's Immunity" that should serve as a basis for discussion. I would suggest downloading that as well.

I have all three books in Bracken's EFAD triology and I paid full price. You can get the first volume for free if you go to Amazon.com and download it. Here is the link to make it even easier.

I've been re-reading it today and I had forgotten how engrossing the book really is. It will keep you hooked. Now pass on the link to friends and family and encourage them to download it so we can continue irritating Josh, Ladd, and others of their ilk.

They are not only good reading, there is a lot of interesting information in the books. For instance, I had no idea of the various features and potential tracking capabilities of cell phones before reading EFAD.

He actually made it to number one, at least momentarily. FReeper Eaker got a shot of the rankings page.

No, no, if I were an "insurrectionist", I'd be either A) in the left wing, which is synonymous with gratuitous violence and murder, or B) getting nooses ready for all the Demwits in my little corner of the world. When they, the left, starts their monstrous, anti-human insurrection, they won't succeed in doing anything but signing all their own death warrants.

I just found it so disturbing that while I was reading a couple of these books this spring, our government approved detaining U.S. citizens indefinitely without trial, and approved the use of unmanned military drones on U.S. soil, just as in these books. (In addition to the Fast and Furious and possible ATF/drug cartel coverup, the unexpected death of one of our top conservative journalists who dared to speak truth, etc.) What seems like “way out there fiction” is not all that far from reality.

THe Founders were, to a man, insurrectionists, even after the Founding was complete.

EFAD stayed in the top ten for all of Friday and most of today, but now it's dropping to 21. Still, a good run, and 25K D/Ls mostly to new readers.

Now, if Rush or Sean...nah. Never happen.

I took advantage of the free Kindle book of EFAD and not even half way through the first book I bought the other two so that my reading can continue uninterrupted.

I have even been on FR hiatus while I am engrossed in the trilogy. So chilling to read this “fiction” and see it in place more and more today.

It was also pretty cool to see influences in the book here with Free Republic, aka Free America and its bloggers.

I do agree with the earlier FReeper about the information that can be gleaned from the book. I look at my cell phone very suspiciously now.

Excellent books and I want to thank the author for his work and making it available free. Just like a drug, the first one is free and then you are hooked, I am looking forward to the Castigo Cay series.

We shall just have to ping the author, FReeper Travis McGee, to see that. I think he will be very pleased to hear such an enthusiastic review. :-)

Wow, nice review, Finatic! It takes me 2-3 years in a writing closet to produce those novels, I'm glad to hear it when people enjoy them. Might want to grab paper copies at some point, because items like books are “deletable” from a Kindle. Like, say, the govt decided we shouldn't read “anti-govt” stuff like that. Poof! Gone from the digital world, for the most part.

But the dead tree book will still be on your shelf, so you can hand it to a grandkid some day and say, “Read this, and you'll kind of understood what happened, and how we lost our freedom.” Because it sure won't be written that way in the govt-produced school books.

PS, reviews on Amazon are always welcome!

Thought you might like reading some positive feedback like that. :-)

I'm with you on the dead tree book principle. There's just something about holding a book and flipping its pages. There is something satisfying and grounding about a bookshelf full of dust-gathering classics, favorites and irreplaceable manuals too. Just looking up and scanning the titles on their bindings brings back memories of their contents.
