Posted on 03/03/2012 12:12:35 PM PST by mnehring
The liberal media and websites as of the past week have declared that Rush Limbaugh is fighting a "war on women" by calling Sandra Fluke a "Slut". Upon consideration, I believe we should go ahead and accept that battle. The following statistics are from Google.
Calling Sarah Palin a Slut- 211,000 results
Calling Bristol Palin a Slut- 57,000 results
Calling Michele Bachmann a Slut- 23,300 results
How about the Huffington Post?-
Calling Sarah Palin a slut?30,900 Results
The Daily KOS?-
Calling Sarah Palin a slut? 12,900 Results
..and so on and so on...
Feel free to add your own statistics and examples.
Published about 15 years ago. Very popular with feminists who were trying to "take back" the term and make it a positive thing.
haha...thanks! shared with FB libs.
The left held a well-publicized series of “Slut Walks” for “reproductive rights” just last year. Google it. They have absolutely no right to claim “indignation.”
There is one planned for this year as well, in of all places Washington DC, home of Georgetown University.
Excellent observation! Yes, the Left is far more guilty than the Right of muddying the wates with egregious name-calling.
That said . . . I have to say, by my old-fashioned standards, I think Rush was guilty of being rude by calling Fluke a “slut.” I don’t let my sons call any names at all. Name-calling does nothing but make people angry and unable to think properly. If you want to describe someone’s perceived behavior (especially what you regard as bad behavior), then do so. But calling them names is counter-productive. I don’t think Rush won any new people over to his side with this, but did make a lot of people angry. How does that help us?
Duh! “Waters” not “wates.” Whatever a “wate” might be!
