Time for New Look at 2008 Obama Passport Breach

Among the unexpected findings of the Sheriff Arpaio cold case was this one:

Records of Immigration and Naturalization Service cards filled out by airplane passengers arriving on international flights originating outside the United States in the month of August 1961, examined at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. are missing records for the week of President Obama's birth, including the dates Aug. 1, 1961 through Aug. 7, 1961.

This revelation evoked memories of one of the great underreported stories of the 2008 campaign: the multiple breaches of the presidential candidates' passport records in March of that year. In one its more egregiously dishonest moments, the Washington Post headlined the story on March 22, "Rice Apologizes For Breach of Passport Data; Employees Looked at Files On Obama, Clinton, McCain."

The "Rice" in question is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The offended party in the Post story was Barack Obama. He told reporters that he expected "a full and thorough investigation," one that "should be done in conjunction with those congressional committees that have oversight function so it's not simply an internal matter."

John O. Brennan (born September 22, 1955) is chief counterterrorism advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama; officially his title is Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and Assistant to the President.

His responsibilities include overseeing plans to protect the country from terrorism and respond to natural disasters, and he meets with the President daily. Previously, he advised Obama on foreign policy and intelligence issues during the 2008 presidential campaign and transition. Brennan withdrew his name from consideration for Director of the CIA in the new Obama administration over concerns about his views regarding the CIA under President George W. Bush. Instead, Brennan was appointed Deputy National Security Advisor, a position which did not require Senate confirmation.

After leaving government service in 2005, Brennan became CEO of The Analysis Corporation, a security consulting business, and served as chairman of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, an association of intelligence professionals. Brennan’s 25 years with the CIA included work as a Near East and South Asia analyst, as station chief in Saudi Arabia, and as director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

My best guess is early next week we get info on the Connecticut Social Security number, and if that's what it is, it will shake the tree pretty good. More fruit will fall.

The question of whether Obama held an Indonesian passport is an important one for determining whether Obama relinquished his US citizenship.

It seems likely that Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro under Indonesian law. Lolo and Ann certainly did not foresee that their marriage would collapse, and would have naturally expected to remain together and raise their children in Indonesia for the rest of their lives, since Lolo had been turned down a residence visa for the US.

So before the marriage collapsed, it would have been the obvious and natural thing to do to have Lolo adopt Barry under Indonesian law, and Barry probably had an Indonesian passport.

Barry probably did not think much about his Indonesian passport until it came time for college (and perhaps law school) admissions. He may have discovered that colleges seeking diversity and international students would cut some slack to a foreign student on bad grades or maybe even provide financial aid.

His big mistake would be if he decided to renew his Indonesian passport during one of his trips to see his mother in 1981 or 1983.

At that point, he is a mature individual and any action he takes that might relinquish his US citizenship would have significance under the INA.

The US allows dual citizenship so long as you do not in the course of it actually relinquish US citizenship.

Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship, so if Barry submitted a passport renewal application to Indonesia he thereby represented that he was NOT a US citizen. That was probably enough technically for Barry to have relinquished US citizenship, being clear evidence of his intention not to be a US citizen.

The US State Department probably never learned about it, unless there was some sort of routine ministerial communication between the Indonesian government agency and the US embassy in Indonesia concerning such applications.

This may have been purpose of having Brennan’s guy check what was in the State Dept file — to find out if the State Dept had evidence that Barry had renewed his Indonesian passport as an adult, which could have presented a serious problem as to Obama’s US citizenship and his ability to run for US president.

The original files posted by Fact Check in their famous (infamous) Born in the USA article had photos from inside Obama HQ in Chicago. The night time photo (birth_certificate_3.jpg) is clearly an ‘after hours’ picture with a gentlemen who has his back to the activity and no one else in the office in the background of the open, low-rise Steelcase cubed office. The photos have a date stamp of March 12 around 10 p.m.

Fact Check never indicated when the supposed photo session was. They only indicate ‘recently’ in their narrative.

Where they given the photos from the activity to plug in a fake BC (COLB) into the passport files and told to present them as recent? Where the photos the result of activity to ‘sanitize’ the records?

Signing up for Selective service was a big deal for a 19 year old kid back in 1980. As others have said, he probably didn't want to get drafted and had an out. He was an Indonesian student.

Remember, back in 1980 we were on the verge of war. We were only 8 years out from Vietnam. We lost that war, and going to Iran we expected 50,000 or more to die. It wasn’t until 1991 that we realized how powerful we truly were.

So being an Indonesian student in 1980 was a very convenient card to pull for a yellow bellied Kenyan.

See? That's what is so unbelievably outrageous about this whole diabolical saga. This is a blatant example of the Fourth Estate deliberately abdicating their responsibility to report the unvarnished news, and instead actively siding with the lawbreakers.

Did the passport office claim that Obama’s passport records have vanished as a result of the break-in? Or is there supposedly some data available and it is merely “sealed”?

Couldn’t an officer of the law get access to the records and check if it lists Obama’s visit to Pakistan and cross-check the records with other information that has already been verified?

I'll let others more knowledgeable than myself address the veracity of such, but my understanding is that the digital records are alleged to have been "cauterized". Hard copy records I know nothing about, status-wise.
