And they know it. Anybody remember when Obama refused to acknowledge 8-28 and many other tea party or liberty-based gatherings? Why is that? He did not want to give those groups credibility.
The announcement has gone out that the G-8 Summit is being moved from Chicago, to Camp David. This is clearly a victory for the Occupy movement. This is something that revolutionaries desperately need. As time goes on, (see the STORM manifesto - search it for the word "burnout") revolutionaries can get burned out. Who wouldn't? We all have our limits.
Now, enter Occupy. In one of their own publications, here is what they are reporting:
Occupy Claims Victory as Obama Relocates G8 Summit
Lookout! This summer is not going to be pretty. Obama just threw gasoline, rocketfuel, and some nuclear rods on the fire. Consider this: Occupy was just successful at getting 9 of the world's major leaders to move to a different location. If you know how revolutionaries think, you will know how giddy they are.
The city is clean, safe to be downtown in the loop, ect...
I didn't want the Woodstock scum in my city, let em try and get into Camp David and hopefully get shot!
You may be correct, but this strikes me as really election year damage control as the probable revolting behavior of the OWS crowd would have a negative impact on Obama’s re-election chances. Rahm undoubtedly had input into this decision.
I think I need Colbert to explain this using OWS hand signals....and not the middle finger. Is this a twinkle up, twinkle down, mic check, block, or point of process....or a "got your nose"?
The bipartisan fascists in the Federal Government just voted to tangentally criminalize Freeper protest marches and pro-Life marches in DC and elsewhere so they could criminialize ‘Occupy’ protests.
The 1st Amendment is getting shredded and your myopic “us vs them” mentality is the only memorable take away from your thread.
H.R. 347, or the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011
Exactly. This is what they get for being violent, not to mention bad stewards of the properties they occupy. They are marginalized by this move, and any benefit they derived from Obama's endorsement of their cause is now null and void. Backfire!
Fear. Obama and democrats are afraid of the monster they created. The last thing they want is Obama’s home city to be burned to the ground.
Now, if it is some other city, I think they would cheer the OWSs.
The absolute last thing Obama wants is for the world to see fleabaggers rioting against Obama on the evening news.
Occupy movement = Freeloaders united
Melancholy - take a look at this. Have you read ProgressingAmerica’s other articles? Very informative.
