I Hope Rush Limbaugh Gets Arrested

Liberal lawyer Gloria Allred wants Rush Limbaugh arrested. She may want to rethink this latest publicity stunt.

By the now the Left was sure that Rush Limbaugh would be off the air. His comments about Georgetown law Student Sandra Fluke and the list of companies that cancelled their advertising for his how had them dancing with glee. Their biggest political thorn in the flesh was going down. No such luck.

The outpouring of support for Rush Limbaugh has been overwhelming. Advertisers have been replaced. Rush has shown the utter hypocrisy of the mainstream media by pointing out the laundry list of liberal rants and verbal sexual attacks on conservative women. Even many in the media are commenting on it. For example, Kirsten Powers, a Fox News analyst, wrote “Rush Limbaugh Isn’t the Only Media Misogynist” for the Daily Beast. Here’s how she opens her article:

Did you know there is a war on women?

Yes, it’s true. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, and Ed Schultz have been waging it for years with their misogynist outbursts. There have been boycotts by people on the left who are outraged that these guys still have jobs. Oh, wait. Sorry, that never happened.

Exactly! It never happened. “But if Limbaugh’s actions demand a boycott — and they do —,” Powers wrote, “then what about the army of swine on the left? Boycotts are reserved for people on the right like Rush Limbaugh. . . .”

An example of the double standard is Gloria Allred, the Left’s premier legal attack dog. She wants Limbaugh prosecuted for calling Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute.” She wrote a letter to the Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe asking whether Limbaugh had violated Section 836.04 of the Florida Statutes.

The statute stipulates that anyone who “speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity” is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. If Rush was found guilty, the maximum penalty would be one year in jail and a $1000 fine.

I would love to see this go to trial. Ms. Fluke would have to testify as to her sexual history. In doing so, it might confirm the very things Rush said about her. Witnesses would be called to testify. While I don’t know how many sexual partners Ms. Fluke has had, but just to ask the questions would prove much more embarrassing to her.

Then the issue of the liberal double standard would be brought out. There’s so much of evidence of this that we might see liberal talkers brought to trial as well. We might even see some politicians face the judge. It would be heaven. You know Rush Limbaugh would have the best high-profile lawyers defending him. It would be Oliver North and Iran-Contra all over again. The best in free entertainment.

Liberals are trying to get around the double standard accusation by claiming that the conservative women who were verbally attacked with sexual barbs were “public figures.” As soon as Ms. Fluke agreed to speak out publicly on the birth control issue, she became a public figure. She has since appeared on a number of radio and television shows.

Liberal hypocrisy runs deep. Let’s go to trial!

If you haven’t, you MUST try the blueberry tea. I’ve always hated “flavored” iced tea, so I always purchased the regular diet. But when I heard blueberry, I thought, how odd, I must try it.

So I purchased the diet blueberry iced tea and OMG....how delightful it was!

Even the libs in the office had to admit how great it was.....hehehe.

I think any competent gynecologist would soon find that the hotly debated want of chastity issue is a moot point. In shot, a Fluke.

By her own admission, the woman was not just unchaste, but promiscously so. Hence a slut.

The truth IS an absolute defense, is it not?

I don’t want him to do anything now. I just want him to be more aware in future. I know that he has many fans and a long-standing show. I’m NOT on the “Flukewagon” or any other wagon. I’m just making an observation. The entire conversation shifted from what was actually important ... to what Rush said about it and, being a veteran, he should have known better.

“You obviously listen to the mainstream media too much, you sound just like that bunch of bleedin’ hearts. If you think we’re going to win anything without fighting fire with fire (liberal are the worlds’ champions at sarcasm and mean-speak), then you must be located somewhere within the Bell curve.”

Thank you for your kind thoughts. While we might lament the fact, much of America does pay attention to mainstream media. THAT was the point of my post. Rush put himself in the position to BE the story instead of letting the real story be told.

Issue at hand needed to be discussed? That Sandra (Liver) Fluke is ripe for ridicule. It is the evolution of Marxism which is now from each according to his ability to each according her sluttiness.

I can understand Rush's apology for correctly describing her as a slut trying to graduate to prostitution (prostitution for which we taxpayer/johns don't even get any), since Rush is a gentleman; however, if it was me in that situation, I would not have apologized >>>>>veg<<<<<<<<<<<<

She heard something was happening involving a woman [who wasn't Paula Jones or Kathleen Willey], and she was being left out - so now she's injecting herself into the fray with these asinine comments.

Fixed it for you.

I wonder what she looks like without being shellacked with four coats of makeup.

Maybe it’s time for another picture of Helen Thomas!

You know Rush was wrong about one thing here. He used the word “slut”, now if I am not mistaken, when someone wants to be paid for sex shouldn’t he called here a “Whore”? I think that would have been more appropriate.

I’m a woman so I can say that.

She should be disbarred, because you CAN’T get arrested for defamation, it is a civil trial.

Some states recognize criminal defamation as well as civil defamation. Florida is one of them (Fla. Stat. 836.04). The statute dates to 1883 (I'll repeat that: 1883). A lawyer from Florida may be able to tell us, but I would be stunned if this statute is actually applied in Florida even though it's on the books.

The statute says:

"Whoever speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083."

Apparently, under the statute, 'chastity' must not mean 'virginity,' because it applies to statements made about married women, too. That suggests the fact the woman isn't a virgin doesn't set up a 'truth' defense - and truth is normally a defense to a claim of libel. I can't find a Florida case interpreting the statute, what 'want of chastity' means in the statute, or whether lack of virginity is a defense.

Violation of the Florida statute is punishable by up to a year in jail (s. 775.082) or up to $1,000 fine (s. 775.083).

I'm just stating the law; apply it based on your own understanding of the facts. The problem with stating the law is that some posters become appellate attorneys and start arguing with you about how the law applies to the facts and how the law ought to be changed. I'm not here to do that.

Yup, Sandra Fluke .... not a ‘slut’, just a parasitic worm. I wonder if Gloria would take offense at that(?)

Are you telling me to veg? I’m pretty chill, actually.

What had me hotter than a hornet was hearing about religious institutions being forced to provide birth control free even though they were against it.

I’m not even Catholic... but I was peeved.

This woman went to Georgetown specifically to raise he-double ell about birth control because they don’t provide it.

By calling her names, Rush basically threw red meat at the hungry, slobbering journalists who didn’t want to talk about ...

...FAITH being TRAMPLED by GOVERNMENT.

THAT should have been the story, not Rush and his comments. IMO, he should have been more savvy.
