SANTORUM WINS KANSAS, SHOWING HE IS THE ONE TO FACE-OFF AGAINST OBAMA IN NOVEMBER
WebToday ^ | 3-10-12 | Jerry McGlothlin

Posted on 03/10/2012 4:06:18 PM PST by geraldmcg

Now that Rick Santorum has won the Kansas caucus with a whopping 51% of the vote, he is very much in the running to be President of The United States. Being outspent by Romney more than ten to one, and still winning primaries and caucuses in numerous states, it is clear that Rick Santorum is far more popular with the heartland masses than the Mitt, who is attempting to buy the Presidency.

So just what is Mitt’s biggest selling point? His campaign keeps playing their ‘trump’ card mantra over and over: “Mitt Romney is the only Republican candidate who can beat Barack Obama in November.”

Where exactly do they get that? And what did they put in the Kool-aid that has been force fed to voters by the mass media? It’s got to be one of the most bizarre lies ever hatched in politics. They are totally ignoring the fact that the latest Rasmussen Poll shows Santorum AHEAD of Obama in a one to one match-up!

So instead of reporting real news like this, the major media is temporarily propping up their man Mitt, but just as soon as he clinches the GOP slugfest, the network news and newspapers will be carving him up, making a mince meat feast: Roast Romney.

Some reporters are already prepping their soon-to-be headline stories about Morons posthumously baptizing Adolf Hitler and a 9-11 terrorist hijacker! And this is just the entre. The main course includes Mitt’s ‘brutal’ Bain Capital corporate raids responsible for putting thousands of people out of jobs. Oh, and the just deserts? We shudder to think of what they might be.

In contrast, there is not much the media can do to carve up a relatively ‘boring’ squeaky clean Boy Scout like Rick.

Truth be told, the major media is afraid of a one to one match-up in November of a corrupt community organizer who may not even be a U.S. citizen vs. an all American crusader fighting Washington corruption. Bottom line: Santorum wins! But that is IF he can beat Mitt and Mitt’s fair weather media friends and the GOP ‘good ol’ boy establishment who keeps ponying up the likes of Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney.

But in the era of America's deline .... is that IT?

Respectfully, this is a nightmare.

Yep. My country is on the tipping point of passing into a terminal socialist abyss, and the best some of you can come up with is to rally around Rick Santorum because "he doesn't have baggage" or "because he's a good family man"…

I do wish people would take this more seriously.

Now that Romney is wounded (losing in Kansas)...the race becomes one between Santorum and Newt.

And Santorum can't hold a candle to Newt!

Santorum is not meek at all. If you’d bother to listen to any of his campaign speeches in recent days, you’d know that.

I’ve listened to Santorum’s campaign speeches, and watched his mettle tested during the debates. My conclusion? Santorum is meek. Now what?

Actually, it isn't Santorum...it is the Anti-Romney vote beating Romney.

And Newt's support doesn't contain a lot of that, as well?

Newt and Santorum people need to keep in mind that the enemies are Romney and Obama. Keep Romney from the securing the nomination, open the convention, and let Rick and Newt battle it out then. Or open the door for Sarah Palin. The chances of getting someone worse than Romney from an open convention are basically nil. Don't destroy each other but double-team Romney and Obama.

Amen!

But it is too late for that. More than half of the people who will vote are on the government teat, are related to someone on the government teat or view politics with less intellectual acumen than an American Idol voter.

Obama will win via Alinskiite tactics, Obama will succeed in his goal of destroying America via the Cloward-Piven methodology and most American won't know what hit them until the checks stop coming.

At that time, Obama will assume complete control and disband rather than just ignore Congress. The name Obama will replace Caesar in the lexicon.

Please, prepare yourself!

"Some reporters are already prepping their soon-to-be headline stories about Morons posthumously baptizing Adolf Hitler..."

(I got the following off the net, but make your own decisions folks)

The Mormon Church Attempts to Conceal Temple Records for Adolf Hitler

"Like a slippery snake in the grass, the Mormon Church may have tried to dodge public criticism by denying its questionable proxy recognition of Adolf Hitler—the amoral and evil Nazi genius who was responsible for the terror and barbarism of the Third Reich and the loss of millions of innocent lives before and during World War II. But LDS ordinance records speak for themselves—Mormons have repeatedly claimed the unpopular Hitler. Anything stated to the contrary cannot alter this conclusion.

. Deception is not the hallmark of a church with integrity. As the Mormon Church will eventually find out—even the most artful serpent can be choked by its own coils!"

Outspent yes but even more of an uphill climb, three, yes count them, three other candidates are running non-stop hit ads on Santorum. Romney, Paul, and Gingrich are running the ads and they’re relentless. The fact that Santorum can even place is amazing.

Was just listening to an old song:

“From all I’ve seen of politics
It’s just a greasy money stick
Geared to run on tongues so slick
To make you think this is all there is...
You’ve got Romney”

“How they con the little middle man
Into thinking he has got a hand
To play in the future of the promised land
He owes himself to the destiny of man
Gets ridiculous”

Written by Jerry Jeff Walker (”The Ballad of the Hulk”) in 1968.
I substituted only one word.

What’s changed?

But when it comes time for the general election presidential debates, I want Gingrich up on stage eviscerating Obama.

Unless of course Newt freezes up like he did when Romney actually went after him. In fact, I haven't seen Newt "eviscerate" anyone who actually challenged him in a debate. I think his great debate ability rests on being able to hit back at the press (which he also failed to do in that debate) and articulate his positions better than most.

But the deer-in-the-headlights moment still scares me. One debate like that with Obama and the MSM will obliterate him.

We’re not really talking about Mr. Obama, we’re talking about who will face him in November on the Republican ticket. Focus, please. Do you really see winning 50% of 1% of a small state’s GOP voters as an indicator that former Senator Santorum can beat Mr. Obama in 50 states? That’s almost as bad as predicting the race based on the Ames straw poll!!

As a Kansas resident, I can tell you that one of the positive aspects of living in this state, is that the other residents, save for Topeka and Lawrence are very conservative.

So Santorum’s victory, in my opinion, was a forgone conclusion, and not an example of Santorum’s ability to beat Obama in the fall.

I can’t wait to see the look on Rick’s face at the convention when the establishment starts pressuring him for his unbound delegates. “All of your delegates are belonging to us!”

I live in Kansas, too. Kansas is generally conservative but has a serious divide between the economic and social conservatives. While I'm not surprised that Santorum won, I am very surprised by the margin. I would have thought that the country-club Republicans (who comprise the bulk of the economic conservatives) would have more strongly supported Romney and that Gingrich would have drawn more support across the conservative board. I don't think that this win should be quickly dismissed.

Yet, Kansas has 80% of the delegates that Alabama has and the same number as Mississippi. Seems like this would be a great opening for Newt and his oratory skills since persuading just a few minds could have a disproportionately positive effect on the delegates earned. Newt's got a lot of ground to make up in delegates.

I don’t think it is right to ask a person to back out of a race. I ask the candidates to search their heart and decide if they have even the most remote chance of winning.

I have resigned myself to the fact that Romney will win. That would be because conservatives are splitting the vote.

If this goes to convention, Romney will still get the nod.

Then “Kansas” was the simple answer to my question. I get the whole scenario. I started this particular conversation, remember?

But until he does that in PA, it is hypothetical. As a hypothetical, it is NOT a proper response to the charge that Rick only wins tiny populations that will not in any way, shape or form translate into victory in November.

The one proper response to that is Tennessee, to some extent. Besides that Rick’s victories have been tiny voter populations. Now it’s been a great strategy because its fooled a lot of people - and Faux News is pretending to be fooled because they’d rather their boy Mitt deal with Santorum than Newt - but putting the strategy aside, I will continue to point it out.
