“what candidate is a champion of marriage more than I?”

I can think of at least 3 others.

He also said that he would fire any clerk in the state who refused to perform gay marriages.

The Mass. Supreme Court ordered the legislature to reconsider gay marriage. The legislature did nothing. Romney did it all. ALL.

He managed to shrug this off in 2008, until it was finally pinned on him as the campaign progressed—along with his promise to Planned Parenthood—which he appointed to the Board of Romneycare, ex-officio—to support a “woman’s right to abortion.”

Needless to say, the press will continue to cover for him. Nobody knows about this unless they’ve been searching around the internet at places like FR.

I can’t believe what a nightmare the Republicans haven’t themselves into with these candidates. Obama hasn’t even begun his full frontal attack and the Republicans are pitiful. I pray the majority of Americans, especially independents who will be necessary to swing the vote, see that obama is worse than these Republican nitwits and hold their nose and vote for whoever ends up being nominated. I held my nose last time and voted for McCain vs. obama, however, i feel the same twinge coming over me, the only difference being the devil himself needs to be voted out of office. A true conservative has yet to surface; and RR is long gone and there’s no one close to him. America will go on limping even if the Republicans win in November, but the pressure has to be on them at ever level in order to force the necessary change or the slide down the slope of socialism and the dream of America will continue to wither. I can’t believe what we’re leaving our kids and grandkids. It’s more than nauseating, it is treason. America, you out there, are you going to wake up anytime soon? Do you care enough?

I hope Newt's staff has picked up on this.

Mitt rolled over like a puppy in the face of judicial tyranny.

Newt would look forward to Scotus telling him to sign a statute which legalized fag marriage.

Gov. Romney Timeline: excerpt

March 30, 2004 Romney says he’ll “abide by the law of the land as it exists on May 17” and says he would not order town clerks to defy court edict. Romney says he’d not explored the Constitution section giving him power over “causes of marriage” and whether it gives him any legal power to stop same-sex marriage (according to spokesman).
April 12, 2004 Romney spokesman says training sessions for town clerks will begin “with plenty of room to spare before May 17.” Ron Crews of Mass. Coalition for Marriage states hope for an Executive Order to halt the marriages.
April 15, 2004 Romney files emergency bill in Legislature to seek stay of SJC ruling, and is rebuffed and reprimanded by Senate President Travaglini.
April 15, 2004 Romney’s DPH Registrar of Vital Records informs town clerks by letter of training sessions before SJC ruling becomes effective.
April 16, 2004 Romney announces his administration is scheduling training sessions for May 5-12 with licenses changed from “husband/wife” to “Party A/Party B”.
April 17, 2004 Mass. Dept. of Revenue (under Romney) declares SJC ruling the new “law”.
April 22, 2004 Romney does not comment on Rep. Goguen’s filing of Bill of Address for Article 8 Alliance/MassResistance to remove the 4 SJC judges, or Article 8’s revelation of Chief Justice Marshall’s violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct. (Marshall had appeared as keynote speaker at homosexual advocacy group dinner in 1999 advocated extension of “rights” for homosexuals, and failed to recuse herself from ruling on same-sex marriage though she had publicly expressed her bias.)
April 26, 2004 Romney’s chief Legal Counsel, Daniel Winslow, issues directive to Justices of the Peace to resign (or be fired, fined, or sued) if they are unwilling to perform same-sex marriages (exact date not given on document)./

The society allowing same-sex lifestyle will allow all forms of sexual promiscuity leading to total destruction of family, morality, and most of all, Christianity.

Satan will have a field day in reaping souls into hell!

Romney pioneered same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. Is Mormonism known for sexual promiscuity? I don’t know.

Romney is really sensitive about same-sex marriage issue as he knows Republican base hates this and he championed it nationally.

Also, he has very bad temper, a mean streak, losing his cool in public easily.

There’s just no way in hell I’m going to vote for this bastard. I’ve voted GOP every single election of my life, never wavering a single time. Even when the candidates have been crummy (which has, exasperatingly, been far too often the case). But this is just a bridge too far, dammit. Romneycare/gay-crap... forget it.

You would think a man with his education would know about the dangers of same sex marriage. He is said to have a BA in English Literature from Brigham Young University. His masters degree earned him a Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration with joint degrees from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. Something has corrupted his thinking. There is something about him I don’t trust when his background don’t match up with his decisions.

"She asked why Romney had the marriage certificates printed up with "Partner A and Partner B" instead of "husband and wife", even though there was no mandate (from the Legislature or even the courts) for him to take that action."

I remember when ALL that was happening.

Does anyone know if there is a video of Romney going off?

“I am a graduate of Harvard Law School.”

That is the end of the argument — for the MSM and for the GOP-e.

Nothing more needs be said, so it deserves repeating:

“I am a graduate of Harvard Law School.”

That is kind of like “Checkmate” in chess. It is supposed to put us into paralyzing brainfreeze. It is like being intellectually “tazed.”

We are supposed to sit back and numbly mumble to ourselves: “Oh, no! He went to HARVARD LAW SCHOOL! There is NO refuting his excellency!”

One of the men in the room: “maybe that’s the problem.”

Win.
