Sometime this afternoon my blog at www.ourrvadventures.wordpress.com was archived or disabled for violation of their Terms of Service.
This blog details my wife and my travels in our RV. I have no idea what I could have done to violate the Terms. I've had this blog for 3 years and never had a problem.
I contacted Workpress earlier this afternoon, but still haven't heard back.
Anyone have any ideas, or a better way to handle this, maybe the home phone number of the president of Wordpress?
Ann Althouse had a similar problem last year with her “blogspot” or whatever site it was blog.
I mean, she’s a law professor and very prestigious.
I don’t follow her closely enough to remember what the whole dealio was, but it was some screw up.
She might have left them anyway, but I’m really not sure how it all played out.
Seems like they would send you some kind of warning first.
Is it possible your site got hacked or something?
They didn’t contact me in any way.
It was working fine this morning. This afternoon it wasn’t.
Why would you use a server you dont control. It is so inexpensive to have your own domain parked on your own server. I think it cost me $6 a month. I upload. I control it 100%. Terms of service are I pay the $6 and thats it
I have been trying to sort thru who to use for a site I want to build, anyone you would recommend?
I’m logged in at my Wordpress blog . . . I can try and click on yours if you’ll tell me the name.
Mine seems OK.

Yeh, WP also offers a domain for 24 yearly.....but using a domain vice a WP free blog is much more complicated and would require some geek expertise, right???

Wordpress.com
is a great place . . . for free or for varying rates for varying flexibilities etc.
Some well known folks use Wordpress.
However, they seem to occasionally be more buggy than I’d expect.
If you ever read her blog you’ll see how much her commentors torment her for having voted for Obama.
But I wasn’t trying to praise her, I was just telling the original poster that this well known, readily identifiable person also had some big blog problems last year.
She’s OK, althous, she did some good work in Madison during the recent protests against Walker, and she’s still at it.
As for voting for Obama, well, she was an idiot. Hopefully she’ll be one of many hundreds of thousands who repent that sin in the only way that matters - by voting for the Republican candidate for president this November, even if it is Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, a candidate to be named later, or a syphilitic Camel.
