What David Cameron described as his "guys night out" watching basketball with President Barack Obama in the swing state of Ohio was cheesy and embarrassing enough.
But has there ever been a speech given by a British prime minister that was quite as cringeworthy as Cameron's "toast" to Obama at last night's State Dinner?
Watch the video. Cameron starts speaking at the 8:20 point and almost immediately hails Obama's "strong and beautiful words". It's downhill from there.
He takes a cheap shot at Richard Nixon - the easiest possible target in front of a gathering of Obamaphiles - and his own Tory predecessor Ted Heath. He makes corny jokes about cricket and Watergate ("call in the plumbers" - Geddit?) and then lauds Obama's "strength, moral authority and wisdom". No mention of Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher.
Then comes what must surely be one of the most obsequious things Obama - who is well used to adulation - has ever heard. Obama, says Cameron "has pressed the reset button on the moral authority of the entire free world".

this is a gay thread, right?
“You use your mouth prettier than a twenty-dollar whore.”
There’s something very wrong here...I’d like to know what the other hand is doing. I’m guessing that part of it has to do with BP.
He doesn't know how right he is...and how telling, though not in the way he means it. Obama is destroying the moral authority of the free world, and the US in particular.
But Cameron was over the top. Obama's remarks don't sound like an endorsement or political advertisment for David Cameron. Cameron's speech is a little too fulsome or unctuous, starstruck or groveling, and does read like an endorsement of Obama.
About Nixon and Heath. After Cameron mentioned their awkwardness he pointed out that Nixon got someone to pay for the swimming pool at the Prime Minister's official holiday residence -- a point in Nixon's favor. After saying "Nixon" and "swimming pool" the rest, unfortunate though it might be, wrote itself.

"Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life...
"Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
But this was sung about God's word(s) of life, not a wicked man's lies.
I suspect that when these two cuddle at night, Cameron gets to be the little spoon
A British socialist toasting another stone socialist is not amazing at all..
It would be amazing if he didn’t..
Both are buggaring the same ideology..
Is Cameron a homo?
BINGO we have a winner!
Anybody who doesn’t see through obama by now is a bad judge of character and not too bright.
Leftists are such fools, and so easy to fool! They drool and fawn over nice words and platitudes without and discernment whatsoever. If they weren’t wrecking the Country I would really pity them all. Thanks God I grew up wiht 2 parents at home and recieved proper training and discipline growing up!
This kind of thing is preliminary to BO being appointed Supreme Leader of the World Confederacy of Socialist Nations. After that comes fulfillment of the antiChrist prophecies.
A “barf alert” would’ve been nice.
Cameron is a “conservative”??
What, now word definitions are reversed on the other side of the Atlantic??
I guess they still have Richard Nixon to kick around...
Two Little boys enjoying a game.
THE AGE OF OHBUMMER, KING OF THE REPUBLIC OF LIES
OhBummer is a b00b and a fool for attacking the American Tea Partiers. Heck, he thought that he had all of us hoodwinked, hornswoggled, and bamboozled.
He's annoyed that the Tea Partiers are not grateful to him for hijacking the American healthcare system--the greatest act of vandalism perpetrated upon the American people since a gang of jihadi frootloops and loonytoons hijacked some planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center towers--and the Pentagon, and made a failed attempt to crash into the White House--and instead drilled a hole in a Pennsylvania farm thanks to some very courageous American passengers.
And--now widely seen for what he is--the president presents a problem for the Democrat-captured media. They pump out his propaganda for him--and, like the opinion monitors in Ayn Rand's novel, "Atlas Shrugged"--they are dodging brickbats and rotten vegetables.
He's pompous, pampered, and pretentious--a pseudo-intellectual fop. He's a glorified, smooth-lyin' dandy, and slicker than Sick Willie Clinton.
He's a dictator-on-the-make, a bloodsxcking, predatory humanitarian thug, and a low-down skunk. He's a fraud and a swindler.
He lies when he inhales and he lies when he exhales; his oxygen is the falsification of reality. He lies, placidly and laconically, as if deception were a soporific drug.
He's a friend of the poor and the downtrodden--indeed, you can hear the milk of human kindness sloshing around inside of him when he walks.
He declares himself the post-racial leader--"Let me be clear" he intones--and he hides behind his race, daring his critics to put their reputation for fairness at risk.
He pauses to ponder the portent of his propaganda--and it is fakery; he smiles and his mendacity comes shining through.
Shake hands with...
...Barak Hushpuppy OhBummer--"The Mistake of"--the illegal alien squatter in the White House until his "papers" have been lab-tested for age and chemicals, etc--the community organizer of the OhBummer Wrecking Crew, the Fleabagger-in-Chief, the King of The Republic of Lies--and America's first and last Arab president.
Now count your fingers.

“He takes a cheap shot at Richard Nixon - the easiest possible target in front of a gathering of Obamaphiles -”
I hope someone tells Julie Nixon Eisenhower about this since she supported Obama in the 2008 election.
“No mention of Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher.”
Of course not. They wouldn’t want to remind anyone of the days when America had a real President and formerly Great Britain had a real PM.
