You have a firm grasp of the obvious, Ray.

Our job is to ensure that other Real Americans and as many politicians as we can convince begin to see the same solution we see to our economic FReedom — FairTax!

...I am still amazed that he doesn’t “get it.” I mean, after all, surely he doesn’t much care for the IRS. And, surely, he stands for FReedom, doesn’t he?

I've had some pretty spectacular run ins with Mr. Armey myself over the years my FRiend and don't think nearly as highly of him as you seem to.

He is a million dollar a year lobbyist now you know and the ONLY way he can preserve that is to preserve the income tax so we will never put the income tax to bed if Mr. Armey and his ilk can prevent it.

The vast number of IRS agents/employees are not armed, and neither are their families.

Hey Janet and Timothy, I'm just stating a fact, nothing more...

I guess I’ll have to be more clear when I am trying to be sarcastic.

I don’t have much regard for Dick Armey, either. As you point out, he is a lobbyist, lobbying for his own benefit and against the interests of the American people.

I never have been very good at detecting sarcasm when talking about things I truly care about.

Anyway we both know that he is working his own agenda and nothing more than that. He is not alone there either.

We will never again be a truly FREE people for so long as we continue to abide the Marxist income tax and the IRS! I fully intend for my posterity to be FREE despite Mr. Armey and his ilk!

And, since my parents taught me to be a nice guy, I am not any good at being sarcastic!

I don’t, BTW, intend to go practice my sarcasm!

The first republican gov to close his states IRS center down pending safety and fire code inspections- would be the next president of the US.

Please, don't give our RINO-in-residence any ideas!

... and let’s not forget Media Matters.

Is there a physical address listed for them? They may eventually need a visit or two.

We will never be a FRee people as long as we have an income tax and an IRS!

They knew it was a freedom issue rather than a fiscal one at the time the 16th amendment was proposed but there were too few willing to stand against it.

"A hand from Washington will be stretched out and placed upon every man's business; the eye of the Federal inspector will be in every man's counting house . . . The law will of necessity have inquisitorial features, it will provide penalties, it will create complicated machinery. Under it men will be hailed into courts distant from their homes. Heavy fines imposed by distant and unfamiliar tribunals will constantly menace the tax payer. An army of Federal inspectors, spies and detectives will descend upon the state . . . Who of us who have had knowledge of the doings of the Federal officials in the Internal Revenue service can be blind to what will follow?"

Virginia House Speaker Richard E. Byrd, 1910, predicting what would happen if a federal income tax became law.

You are so right! The issue has always been one of control and power. It has never been about financing the legitimate functions of government.

The 16th Amendment fundamentally altered the relationship between the American people and their government. Prior to 16th, We the People were the master, and the government was the slave. Subsequent to the 16th, government became the master and We the People became slaves.

Ergo, as long as there is an income tax and an IRS, We the People will never be a truly FRee People.

FairTax is the answer!

HST, there is much to do, even after the FairTax becomes law of the land!

These are all great ideas. Another way to get these assholes attention would be to stage a nationwide tax revolt on Apr 15th.

On Apr 25th we stage a midnight protest at every post office in the country where we burn the tax returns and refuse to send them any more of our money. Most people who wait until the last minute owe money anyway.

A couple of million and we have their attention.

Apr 25th should read Apr 15th. Oops.

Local FairTax groups often do stage protest events at Post Offices.

A symbolic burning of the Tax Code might be effective, particularly if it could get some positive press.
