Excellent news BUMP!
Thank you Lord, for good dogs and their people.
Why do we read so many articles about war hero dogs being assigned to being ‘put down’ after their service?
(I don’t know if that was the case here, as I didn’t read the full article, but I read of so many that are going to be put to sleep)

If a retired military dog is adoptable, he/she is not put down. The waiting list is 1-2 years for the dogs. In this case the dog was disabled and elderly so the urgency was made to be reunited with his old handler.
Oh. The way I took it is that they put them all down after their service was over.
That’s better, but it seems they would have a place for even the old and lame to go to live out the rest of their days.
