Rick Santorum: Planned Parenthood’s #1 Most Feared Enemy

My friend Paul Cooper ( follow on Twitter ) at Pajamas Media offers Planned Parenthood’s 10 Most Feared Enemies in 2012

. Guess who made #1. That’s right. Rick Santorum! Rick has been accused of wanting to fund Planned Parenthood because he has voted for the very same appropriations bills legendary pro-lifer Henry Hyde has voted for which, unfortunately, and against his wishes, included funding for Planned Parenthood. There are some things that are simply not possible to accomplish without a pro-life majority in Congress, and no one has done more to “move the needle” (as Rick says) than Rick Santorum.

Cooper quotes me in the article. The point I make here (paragraph below) about “all levels of government” is an important thing for you to know about Rick Santorum.

...................................

I would put any Republican presidential candidate on that list, but especially Rick Santorum because of his personal life story with his wife Karen and the loss of their son Gabriel. Further, his record in the Senate on authoring the only federal abortion restriction ever to become law, the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, is testimony to his commitment to protection of life at all levels of government. … He is the one person most committed to ending abortion in America and has a track record that certainly must send chills down the spines of Planned Parenthood executives.

..........................................

There are a lot of familiar faces in the pro-life movement. I think he got the list right. Check it out and see what you think.

I'm not talking about Rick Santorum alone here but very few good things get through congress without some bad things attached to them at some point. In fact its a two way street. In 08, some were claiming that Duncan Hunter voted in favor of amnesty when the reality is, he voted in favor of adding some things the democrats simply weren't going to accept (effectively killing the bill at that stage) and political opponents jumped on it as having voted for amnesty.

I don't like the fact that congress works this way but it does and expecting consistent perfection means being frustrated a lot.

There’s an article about several executives at the Komen Foundation resigning, several over the recent decision to cut funding to Planned Parenthood (despite the Komen Foundation having reversed that direction).

The quote from one of those executives mentioned the ‘politicization of women’s health.’

Are these leftists really so brainwashed that they cannot see how that statement is a perfect example of how the left politicizes all cultural issues?

If ‘birth’ causes such health issues that entire corporations (Planned Parenthood) need to be established to ensure ‘women’s health’ against this growing problem of pregnancy and birth, then the obvious and best cure is not abortion, as all these leftists claim, and it is not having ‘someone else’ fund your birth control. The best cure is to avoid the behavior.

The left has been politicizing sexuality with full force since the 1950’s. They have pushed American culture pretty much where they wanted it all along. They have a little way to go until America fully embraces homosexuality and same-sex marriage, and they have lost some ground in public support for abortion. But they keep this as one of their favorite wild cards to throw down whenever they think they are behind in an upcoming election, just as they use racial hostility, class warfare, and the environment. Isn’t it ironic how the country elected a neo-messiah who was so powerful he would be able to lower the sea levels if we elected him, and now that he has had four years, all of these old leftists issues are now rearing their ugly heads again. Well, FReepers know this is not an ironic outcome but the designed outcome.

Where are all the leftist advocates for smoker’s health, you know, who should be thumping the bushes and squeezing out tears to draw financial contributions to try to find ways to enable smokers to remain healthy and to keep smoking?
